True Blood "And when I die" 9/11 season finale *spoilers*

Terry’s friend was played by actor Scott Foley, best known from the show “Felicity”, but a reliable and somewhat in-demand actor. As many people have mentioned, he will no doubt have a much bigger role in next season’s story arc.

What I haven’t seen mentioned yet - perhaps I’m reading too much into it, but I thought it significant that his character seems to appear out of the blue on Halloween / Samhain. All around Bon Temps, spirits are rising from the graves - Gran, Rene, Marnie, Jesus and walking around. And the first thing Terry says to his old chum is “I’d heard you were dead!” (something he didn’t actually deny.)

Maybe it’d be too obvious that Terry’s old army pal is a vampire, but I’d bet good money he turns out to be some kind of undead being.

So just what other supernatural creatures are left for True Blood to work into the storyline next year? So far they’ve done vampires, shapeshifters, maenads, hippies, fundamentalists, werewolves, fairies, witches, warlocks, and ghosts. What next? I’ll make a WAG and say that Arlene’s comment “zombies are the new vampires” will be a prophetic statement, and we’ll see a “Night of the Living Dead” scenario.

Oh, I just wanted to add that every time Marnie/Antonia mispronounced “Samhain” I wanted to burn her at the stake myself. Gah!

i liked the season bc it followed the eric/sookie storyline in the books a bit. i hate that sookie can’t just make a real decision and stick with eric. she’s a bubblehead.

my fav was Pam making fun of her name:) good times…good times.

It’s official. Tara has been signed for next season.

My guess is that Tara does not become a vamp, but a zombie - which would line up with the other clues to next season’s storyline.

So we have Zombies next season?

ETA, I see Bob already mentioned it.

Sounding more and more like Death Valley

As long as it serves to wipe that sadsack look off her face.

Problem is she wouldn’t know a brain if she ate it.

Didn’t he show up during the daytime? That pretty well would rule out his being a vampire, seeing as he wasn’t bursting into flame or even bleeding out of every orifice.

There are still at least three type of supernatural beings that are in the books, but not on the show yet.

Demons, the first of which was introduced in a short story between books 4.5, and elves have a couple of very minor cameos in both a recent short story & book 11. And something called britlingens, but I don’t remember them…they seem to have been in book 7 and in a short story I didn’t know existed until tonight

There are no zombies in the books, but that means little.

Marney specifically refered to Jesus’ magic as a demon.

Yeah. That was just…silly. We’ve seen Marnie control vamps, and they DONT stand around making chit-chat.

I assumed Marnie compelled them to silver themselves to the pole then released her control to relish in their suffering. What fun is it to burn a robot alive?

Having demon magic and being a demon are two very different things. You can be 100% human and have demon magic. If they plan to go by book canon Jesus isn’t the only non-demon on the show who has a measure of demon magic, one major and one cameo character do as well.

spoilers for book 11

In addition to having a fairy godmother, Sookie and the other Stackhouse children have a demon godfather: their fairy grandfather asked a demon he knew to “bless” his children and grandchildren with (some) demon magic - sort of like a demonic version of the beginning of Sleeping Beauty - and said demon obliged, trying to give it to first Sookie’s father and aunt as infants, then her, Jason and their cousin, and finally their cousin’s young son. It only took with Sookie and Hunter, which is why they have non-fairy abilities that their other relatives do not.
