I remeber, years ago, a Doper who had to help take pictures of a cat that two guys had set on fire. The poor thing was euthanized, but a number of us sent donations to the animal shelter in, I think it was California. I bet they were surprised when they started getting money from out of staters.
I got balls today!
I got a whole box of balls. 50 balls of .50 cal. musket balls. You know who got me into musket shooting, doncha?
Most of my times meeting him were around shooting things so I suggest we go out & shoot something; to make it Doper/Mumper related, I suggest: Flytrap!
I only know that they’re typically small plastic baggies from watching TV news but you now have supplies to be a drug repackager/dealer. Baker, polish up the old resume & start looking. It’s much less stressful to go all Johnny Paycheck if you already have some irons in the fire.
cupcake I hate to say it, but I think starting the job hunt now would be a good idea. Could you and your former manager start a catering business (trying to think outside the box)?
nellie and Moomm I would also like to do something for Ruble. What about his reenactment group? I’m trying to remember if he did anything for a women’s shelter. Maybe?
Spidey, I will definatly go shoot tomorrow. Not shooting a black powder gun, tho’. Nope, nope!
And my tiny envelopes are not for ‘drugs’, I refuse to believe it!! (:))
Second this. It was through checking the charges online that I twice discovered my account had been hacked (both in the same summer but unrelated). I’m pretty sure all major credit cards offer online account management.
Cupcake, I agree it’s time to start looking elsewhere. You deserve better.
Spidey, you don’t want someone with my vision issues firing a gun.
I was so sorry to hear about ruble, I really thought he was going to pull through. My thoughts are with his loved ones just now Doing something as a memorial for him is a lovely idea, I’m sure there are plenty of us who would like to remember him that way.
(((((sari))))) - sorry that you missed the viewing/funeral and stuff, it’s hard when you find out too late especially if you had wanted to see the cousin’s wife at that point.
Nothing going on here, I finished cleaning out mum’s flat at the weekend. I moved the Queen Ann chair and the sofa cushions down to the bin store as the council can collect them from there for disposal, but I couldn’t get the sofa base out of the flat because it won’t fit through the door. I’m not sure what to do about that, and I haven’t been able to get hold of the woman who looks after the flats. I will have to ring her again, and probably leave a third message for her that she won’t reply to.
Music festival in Daaaaaarset (that’s Dorset to you lot) at the weekend, that should lift the spirits somewhat.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and rainy(ish) with a predicted high of 71 and off and on rain for the day. I’m hopin’ for mostly off. It rained all last night, so we don’t need it right now thankyouverymuch. This mornin’ I shall go see the vampires, then go over to the church house to raise the overhead door for the servin’ line and prep the steam table for tonight. Then later in the afternoon I shall go back to start the snausages (nummy, nummy, link snausages!) cookin’ in the oven. I like for 'em to cook low and slow. Also much bacon and pancakes will be readied. Our pancake cookers are a husband and wife team that work well together and can put out some pancakes!
{{{CupCakes}}} I agree with what others have said. Put out some feelers for a new job. With your rep as a baker (HEH!) I imagine there’s a place out there that would love to have you on their team.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Le sigh.
Rainy here this morning and I think it’s supposed to continue all day. I have to deliver my 401k check to my finances guy, and since it’s in that end of town, I thought I might swing by my old office and say hi.
**Cupcakes **- good luck, and I agree with everyone else - you need a new situation, pronto!
Roxy ran to her new “car” first thing this morning. I’d say it’s a hit. The only thing it needs is a horn. She keeps pressing the middle of the steering wheel and going “beepbeep” but face it, the kid needs a horn!
Not sure what else the day will bring. SIL is off work, so I’ll just have partial Roxy wrangling. For now, I’ll finish caffeinating.
That IS simultaneously both waaaayyy to much TMI & yet leaving me wanting to know more, as in why only one? Are you taking a break before sheveling the other one? Have you sheveled any other parts?
Reading when I first get up is entertaining. Managed to parse our favorite bear’s “purtify” as “purify” and was trying to think of a suitable wisecrack when I noticed the letter I missed on the first try.
FCM, do you REALLY want to have to listen to a toddler with a horn?
Morning all. Spidey, the other one had been insulting him, so it was obviously dis-sheveled…
Sun has come out at temperatures are supposed to reach 65F today, so need to make the trips to take cardboard and other stuff out.
Baker, sorry about the news at the place, we’ve all had new bosses that turned out to be a final straw, but hope something else develops for you.
Goal today and rest of week is to get my ‘stuff’ (those knick-knacks and trinkets you collect during life on this rock) out of the containers and into their (more or less) appropriate spots around the house. Will take some time, got a new case coming next week along with stands for some of the larger items, but it’ll get done.
Outside of that nothing too exciting in casa Rat. All y’all take care.
Today is the burning of Juan Carnaval. The last day of carnaval. Carnaval here is a “light” Mardi Gras. The locals love it, as it is the only time they can drink alcohol openly in the streets. Lots of live music and smiling faces.
Thanks Metal Mouse for your comments. Yes, I am glad I listened to my daughter. I was going to wait until I ran out of the antibiotics before I saw the doc again. Now we are moving on. Don’t worry about your thumb. My thumb was never injured. Why the bacteria is there and why it decided on my thumb has been a mystery to the medical community.
Cupcakes, When I hear stories like yours, it makes me sad. Sometimes employers don’t realize what an asset an employee is. Yes, keep your eyes open. When doors close another opens. And it is always better.
Housekeeper comes today. At my age, I really appreciate her help. Plus the place is sparkling clean.
**Spidey **- her “car” will be parked elsewhere till the weather changes. That’s when we’ll find a horn and let her ride outside. I’ll probably take it downstairs to my studio later today.
LOL! Perhaps. I know in my case that getting my glasses updated will help. Must get DH to check into our vision coverage and hunt down someone who’s open Saturday. Also will need him to drive after eye exam.
Speaking of, his employer managed to find him work that will meet his medical limits, so he’s working again as of Monday (3/2). I’d best enjoy this last week of having the car, since I’m back on transit as of that day, and in the time I haven’t been using it, their alert app is constantly reporting train issues. This reminds me, must find opportunity to check my cute little electronic fare card to make sure it’s still usable after its trip through the laundry.
Wet and cloudy 45 degrees outside.
I went to the park early and came home early.
LOL at Spidey, and like FCM, I also read it as putrify.
If you get a horn with batteries, you can always take them out.
I think it is pretty bad that your granddaughter is driving before my son does.
Kicking his ass down to the MVA is on this year’s agenda. After he graduates. That is when I have to renew my license and he needs to renew his ID, so he can get another learner’s permit then. If need be, I’ll send him to driving school, again.
This is the second funeral I missed on my father’s side BooFae, because nobody told me until after. Communication on my mother’s side is a bit better as more of them post on FB, and I have a cousin who will call me as soon as he hears anything.
I’m going to have to get one of the cousins on my father’s side to let me know when things are happening. My mother never tells me until afterwards.
Today we have to go get groceries. I hope it stops raining by then, so we don’t have to carry them in in the rain.
