Wanting more pics in the MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 39 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of
< snerk > 69! < snerk > and N.O.S. for the day. The excitatement of the day will be goin’ to the little bar up the road to grab a burger and beer for N.O.L. Any other need to feed will be via forage. There are leftovers from last night as well as sammich makin’s. Other than that, sloth, nappage and tackleball shall rule the day.

nuts congrats on the impendin’ niece. Glad your brother and SIL were low key with the announcement. Smart move.

Everyone else, I read, but the caffeine has not fully kicked in, so retention is minimal. Thus, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins and how you doin’s all around as needed.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Mor… uhh… afternoon all!

I feel left out with having no pets to put cute pics up of- just houseplants, if rather a lot of them…

One of my housemates left today for 2 months (she’s Chinese and going back to visit-nice girl, bit chaotic)- so I took the opportunity to clear out the fridge we share. I have the top shelf, she has all the rest. While if there was a world’s tidiest person contest I wouldn’t even be let in the venue due to looking scruffy, I do have some limits. I knew it was bad in there, I didn’t know it was that bad until she cleared her stuff out. Thank goodness I have a good immune system, and there was enough ice in the bottom to sink the Titanic.

It’s weird here- we have cleaners in basically every weekday- really excessive IMO- but they just do the floors and the bathroom plus the cooker top, while that biohazard had clearly been left for months if not years.

Anyway, I think I’m heading out for rest of the day, I’m taking a day off thinking about irk. Gonna try spend the rest of the day not thinking about that fridge too, ick. I was planning on an earlier start, but eh…

I went out to the shop in robe and slippers to fire up the pellet stove. It was 53° in there, but it should be comfy in a little while. Now it’s time to load the dishwasher, then hit the shower and don work clothes. And so it begins…

Morning all. Will spend most of the morning (well, 9-11) at the soccer fields to distribute picture packets. At least it will give me an excuse to take the Garmin and the in-car holder with me along with the instructions and work on them in relative private, without distractions (like the MMP ). About 50F out so may haul the middleweight jacket out today.

Used up the last bread yesterday, now need to try and not have to buy anymore before I leave Tuesday for Thanksgiving. Should be doable. Also trying to nurse the gas tank along ('puter says 60 miles left) this weekend so I can fill up on Moanday.

Nut, not thinking is a good thing; look what it has done for doggio, swampy, and me

Dicey, good shopping (and gluing) and glad the heat and hot water are back.

OK, need to do some more internettin’ and then head for the fields, all y’all take care.

`Happy Saturday!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. There are minimal chores today, so once it warms up a little, I’ll take Nelson to the dog park. Meanwhile, I’ll play in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 39 degrees and cloudy with an expected high of 49 degrees and maybe a little rain.

I need to fuel up my Jeep before I head over to Mom’s to pick her up. I meant to get out and about yesterday but got wrapped up in other stuff around the house. I should run it through the carwash; I’ll have to see how much time I have before I leave.

Reading Filbert’s post has reminded me that I need to clean out my Fridge too. While it’s not quite science experiment level, I have noted some spills or stickiness in a couple of areas, plus it’s always good to double-check the crisper for old veggies that are beyond saving.

Another night with little to no sleep, and of course, up before I need to be because of the husband’s constant turning scratching, and fiddling with his BIPAP/CPAP. What I need is a few days away at a nice hotel to merely sleep, but I don’t want to leave Polar for that long if I can help it. He would be absolutely miserable.

I have read everything but retained little. I hope you all have a terrific day!

Holy Moses.

Back from Food Lion - holy crap on a cracker, have things gotten expensive! Last week, a carton of 18 eggs was $1.89, today it’s $2.39! All thru the store, I heard people complaining about not being able to get certain items - many bare shelves.

I got what I wanted, and I think I’m all ready for Thanksgiving - well, ready to start cooking.

I forgot that’s how it worked there. Over here I believe only the public areas get cleaned. I feel slightly jealous. I’m glad you get the chance to clean the fridge. Do you get to claim some of the shelf space too? I recall you mentioning that you hadn’t gotten an equal share.

Oh my /George Takei voice

Sun and decent temps here today. The forecast, as usual, keep changing. I think we’re due for rain again about Tuesday.

My daughter has class on Monday, but other than that the whole family has the week off. Much slothery will ensue, I predict. My sister and her family will be in Pennsylvania all week. We’ll have a quieter Thanksgiving at either my house or my mom’s. I think we’re ready - ready as we’ll ever be at any rate.

My plans for the weekend include organizing the laundry room and watching tv. I may also do some dusting and run the vacuum around.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Have to share this before it disappears…

A gift for someone who has everything…

Just the thing for grocery shopping during the Apocalypse.

When I was a kid I wanted an M-113. Wouldn’t mind one now, though I no longer live in or near a desert. Might be handy the couple of days out of the year between snowing and plowing. Nowadays I’d probably paint it in NASA livery.

Grocery shopping. I need to do that today. Which makes me think of shopping in general. When I lost a lot of weight, I bought new shirts. I put some weight back on, and now they’re a little bit snug. My smallest pre-weight loss dress shirt is too big. Maybe I’ll head to the maul after Thanksgiving and see about getting a new shirt or two from Men’s Wearhouse. I have another shirt I bought at Old Navy 20-some years ago. It’s still in fine shape. Maybe I’ll hit Old Navy and see if they have any ‘business casual’ cotton shirts.

Happy Saturday!

Friggin 27 degrees at the park this morning.
I hate layers. I feel like the kid in A Christmas Story.
I got a new coat, not sure if I’m keeping it. It’s too bulky.
The dogs are loving the cold though, we haven’t seen them play this much in ages.
Echo made me happy today. Milo came this morning, and Echo has always gone after Milo. Until today. She even greeted him at the gate.
Poor Milo, he is scared of her.
I saw her give him the eye a few times, but when I corrected her, she listened.

I found out my neighbor came home the other night when her cat was crying. My ring recorded it, but for some reason the notifications aren’t going off. I need to play with my phone a bit. Some other weird crap is happening too.
One thing I have noticed, ever since she got the new cat, we haven’t seen any mice.
Of course, now that I said it, we’re sure to see some.

I wanted a tank when I lived in Baltimore, to park it in the driveway with a sign that said, ‘Please don’t park in front of the driveway’. People had the whole damn street to park on, everybody on my side of the street had big (mine was two cars wide and 5 cars deep) driveways and none of us parked on the street. Yet, people were constantly parking in front of my driveway.

Lawn guy never showed up yesterday. I was hoping he’d come by today but I haven’t heard from him.

Very pretty kitty Boo

I’m working on laundry today.
I calculate 5 loads, which would be 2-3 loads in a normal washer.
That’s what I get for being lazy.

I’m listening to two of the hunters at work debating the relative merits of eating … muskrat.

W. T. F.

That’s kind of scary in a bbq joint. Remind me to skip bbq in western Michigan.

They made a convincing argument (supposedly, muskrats mostly eat roots/tubers and are quite particular about their food - always a positive trait for eatin’ critters) but on the minus side, careful work is required to properly remove the glands (the “musk” in muskrat) before cooking.

And now all y’all - and I - know far more about muskrat as a potential food item than any of us wanted to know.

You’re welcome!

I’ve heard nutria, which are vegetarian, are good eatin’. Sadly, I haven’t had the opportunity. :frowning:

shoe, I think that muskrat would be much too labor intensive for me to have a go at preparing. I might try it if someone else did the work though.

I had a productive day in the studio and will work on the cleanup this evening.

Not feeling good today. Moderna booster yesterday. Body aches (including mild headache), fatigue, elevated temperature (for me, 99.4 is unusually high. I typically run in the mid-97s). Golden Arches dealt with lunch, we have enough stuff on hand that DH can forage his dinner. Dunno if I’ll even be hungry.

Apparently, coypu (aka nutria) occupy a lot of the same areas as muskrats and can easily be confused with them or with small beavers. The distinguishing feature would be a round tail and bright orange incisors. Coypu are an invasive species as far as North America’s concerned, and were imported for fur.

I just heard from an old acquaintance from my time in the Foreign Service. He’s decided he’s had enough of America’s seemingly endless downward slide and is moving with his wife to Portugal (where we were both posted) with the aim to eventually acquire citizenship there. They both speak the language reasonably well, and the money they have in the bank will do them very nicely there. I have to say that I’m somewhat envious.
