Morning all. Weird dream last night, I was either in Akron, Ohio or Norway, seemed like both at the same time, went into a bar with live music and discovered I was naked (nobody seemed to mind). Had just found my pants (nothing missing, it was Norway after all…) when my brain decided I was being too silly and woke me up. So newspaper has been rescued from the driveway and pills taken, so the morning is off to a good start. Will dine at Texas Roadhouse in a bit, then return home to tackleball and sweeping.
FCM, go ahead and let it out; FCD will hopefully be with us (and you) for another 20 years or so and living in pain and discomfort is not a way to go. Never have joined Instagram and feel no overpowering need to do so.
Boo Fae, hope you get to feeling better, glad it’s not COVID. Enjoy the Scottish visit.
nut, there is a US TV show called Hoarders…
Oopsie, hope the operation goes smoothly. Best wishes.
Don’t think I wore a bow tie more than once or twice in my life, and like swampy, the best thing about not working anymore is not having to wear ties.
OK, need to finish internettin’, warm up the house and be about the day. All y’all take care.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off work today. It’s cleaning and handegg time!
I do own a bowtie, it goes with the fez.
That sucks about FCd’s knee, Moooommmm. I would talk to a doc about it. Although judging by your sis’ issues, the Knee Gods have it out for the FairyChats.
The drive over to the service went as expected. However, the service was mercifully short, and I went socialized with my sister, BiL, nephew, and a couple of other folks for about 30 minutes. Then I rounded up my mother and we headed home. I had to stop at the grocery store to pick up some chicken to cook for Polar, and was home by 5:30. Polar was very happy to see me, although somewhat mopey and not keen on eating dinner. He finally finished it later in the evening.
I’m sorry you’re still feeling poorly, Boofae. Whatever you have is certainly puzzling.
I am sending my very best smooth surgery and speedy recovery thoughts, Oopsie.
I’m sorry that FCD continues to be in pain and nothing regarding his knee surgeries appears to be going right. I would be very frustrated too, FCM, so vent away!
Laundry to do today, plus some branch and leave cleaning up in the yard.
I get the impression that men feel about ties the way I feel about high heels. But I do like the looks of a tie. However, fair is fair - you let me keep my feet in sneaks and I’ll let you forego the neck adornment. Deal?
I just finished moving my spider plants to the bathroom “greenhouse” and I cut off most of the babies - my spiders are too prolific. I did allow some of the variegated ones to remain - I’ll pot a few of them in the spring.
I also transplanted the peppers and 'maters to big pots and I ran a couple of lines for the cukes to climb. The indoor garden experiment continues. But if they die this time, I quit.
I started posting TWICE yesterday and managed to delete the post both times. Harumph. I gave up. It’s a lovely, foggy morning here. I may go for a walk, but if I do, I’ll go through the little woods behind my building, so I don’t have to cross any streets.
Speaking of which, I have the lights on the cart set so they blink in changing patterns like doggio suggested, which I think takes care of the movement issue.
FCM, that IS concerning about his knee. Surely the new doc will recognize the issue? No doc will say, “That guy screwed up,” but they might say something like, “It’s rare, but it does happen.” Maybe @BippityBoppityBoo will weigh in here when she’s not Harriet-ing. I hope the surgery happens on schedule. From what you’ve said, FCD is the type of guy who doesn’t let docs know he’s in PAIN, so it’s easier for med staff to put them off.
BooFae, so sorry you’re still under the weather. It sure SOUNDS like COVID, so I’m glad that’s not it. It’s too bad you can’t just sloth and rest until you’re all better. Maybe the Scotland trip will help?
MetalMouse, I used to have recurrent dreams about showing up to teach in my undies. One night I realized I was dreaming, so I told my subconscious the jig was up. To prove it, I started dancing (in the dream), and poof! I was fully clothed.
Mrs. L.A. found a woodcarver in the area. She wants to have part of the stump of the three we’d had cut down carved into an otter. We’re going to the studio Saturday.
Freestanding. The trunks have been chunked up. It would have been nice to keep the base pieces longer and not cut in half as well, but we didn’t know if we could get a carving and they have to be movable. As it was, the tree guy seemed to be struggling.
The woodcarver has some pictures of otter wall-hangings that look very nice. For $700. I hope we can afford it.
We went out for lunch, then to the marina, then a final stop to drop off mail for SIL. FCD finally held his grandson for the first time. We visited a little, and now we’re home. I just went thru a panic looking for the router password because it wasn’t written down on my password list. Because it’s on the router. DUH!
And FCD finally held his grandson. He was nervous because Toby’s so tiny. But he done good - didn’t drop him or anything!
After a couple of minutes, he gave me the kid, so babby snuggles!!!
Mooooooom, I hope that a new doc can do something for FCD. Glad he finally got to hold Toby.
Feel better soonest BooFae.
Good luck on the surgery oopsie.
Got a few things done today, but mostly practiced sloth. It was raining when I took Nelson out, so I suited him up in his slicker. He was considerate enough to do his business under the shelter of one of the pines out by the fence, so I didn’t get too wet.
Back to the salt mine tomorrow for a couple of days before taking off for Dad’s.
Afternoon all (almost typed evening but it’s only 4:30pm–these dark skies fool me everytime). Dinner was at Texas Roadhouse, got there just as they opened so no problems with seating. Been watching tackleball for most of the afternoon, now need to get a few things done. Rain hasn’t arrived yet but all the weather places say we’re going to get wet in the next few hours. We’ll see.
FCM, cute picture. And Toby has more hair than I do, too (leastwise on top).
OK, best get the work done and go back to tackleball. All y’all take care.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated. I Vestried. Is too a word, I just made it up! OYKW had a McN.O,L. I got back to da cave and had a sammich and a nap. This pretty much sums up the day here. The biiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Tomorrow night is men’s night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’.
MOOOOOOM this is a place where vents are allowed, so vent away. Hope the new doc can help FCD out with the pain and such. Good pic of him holdin’ Toby.
MetalMouse since it gets dark so early, I call five p.m. evenin’ time.
BooFae hope you’re feelin’ better soonest. 'im indoors should sing Soft Kitty to you.
