Wanting more pics in the MMP

I emailed our Admin asking if the power was out. She just answered, and it is. (Outlook online is up, so I’m guessing she saw the email on her phone.)

I thought about posting a couple of hours ago, but thought I might catch a little sleep. It was precious little, to be sure. The wind is still gusting up here, I hope that the weather moderates a bit, as it has for Taters. I hope it hasn’t been too bad your way, girl, the flooding here in Snohomish County and Skagit County is dreadful. This is typical weather for November, generally on Thanksgiving the power goes out, I hope we don’t go through that again.

FCM what a wonderful Monday! Congratulations all around! Tobias is a gorgeous baby, so little! Roxy will enjoy having a little brother, at least eventually, lol!

JaneDoe42 you do exquisite needle work! I’m trying to get some crochet going, but it’s slow-going these days, stupid arthritis.

doggio I love your drawings, I’m so glad I didn’t miss it this year!

It’s 6:02, my daughter is dropping Irish off at work, baby woke up so she got to get bundled up and help take her daddy to work. They make such a beautiful family, and it makes my heart happy to have them here with me. I haven’t seen the two older grandkids since before the covid hit, it’s really hard, I miss them so much. And their parents, lol!

Other than that, life is just good. I am going to reveal the baby’s irl name, Róisín Maeve, Enchanted Rose in Irish. She is now 15 months old, toddling around and her babbling is sounding more like words! She adores the new Pommie, Caoimhe, who adores her right back, they are just the right size for each other, and have similar temperaments! A girl and her dog, it’s going to be fun watching them grow together.

Well, Daisy and Róisí came home with coffee, and Daisy put Cruella on and I fell asleep for a couple more hours, woot! If someone will be so kind as to refresh my memory how to post photos, I would be happy to post some! FCM, if you are still interested in how dog shows work, I will post the response I wrote for you, and then forget to post. The rain is back, and I ought to do something constructive here soon! Have a great Moanday everyone!

Double post, sorry.

Oh, geez. I know this is very all-about-me, but I hope a power outage doesn’t make it impossible for me to get the shot tomorrow. Sorry. I’m desperate. Flyboy, does the power outage/computer sitch mean you can’t work?

It’s still blowing, but the rain is now coming down in buckets. A friend says a tree fell on her neighbor’s house.

Yep. I need to connect to my computer. The power came back down there, but I couldn’t connect to the server. I took a little drive and tried again. I was able to connect to the server, but I had to call a cow-orker to turn on my computer. I’ve just reconnected, but it took a LONG time. All the windows closed, so I’ll have to start over.

Anyway, that drive… Many of the front yards of houses along the beach are flooded. The berm is still keeping the bay out, but as I said earlier there’s too much rain for the rainwater to drain. A manhole cover had a fountain of water coming from the little hole in the top. That drain where I saw water gushing out yesterday is still gushing mightily. The drainage ditches on the road side of the berm are full. Water is covering the road in several places. (I drove the Jeep, of course.) The wind is stiff, and the two flags I saw flying were sticking straight out. There was a porta-potty on its side by the side of the road in front of someone’s house. It occurred to me that it was supposed to be on the other side of the road by the berm trail. Looking outside now, the rain is coming down like it’s coming out of a firehose.

I wonder how it will be next month when the storm season starts!

My wife makes ours every year. To the above she adds some OJ, orange zest, cinnamon (or other warm spice), and maybe a small amount of Grand Marnier.

Today is pierogi day (potato and cheese). Everything is ready, so we just need to extrude the dough and make the pockets.

Loved the pic of Toby, Mom. Get some sleep. You’re gonna need it.

I’ve read everybody’s posts, and you all have my congrats/sympathy. Really.
Yays, hugs, boos, salmon, etc.

Youse guys have seen Gibbs and Vinnie before, so here’s a picture of our new truck:

Okay! Okay! Here’s a pic of Vinnie monopolizing Gibbs’ favorite toy, A.K.A. Biohazard Bunny.

Now I have to get busy, Wifey has decreed that we are driving ‘over the hill’ to the little house with another load of priceless crap this afternoon. In a wind storm. Joy.
One of the reasons we bought a house in Central Orygun is because we’ll get about 10% of the rain we get on this side of the Cascades. I’ve lived in the Willamette Valley since, IIRC, '74 and I think I’m finally getting tired of it. The rain, that is.

Anyway, onward.

Wifey, RN just got back from seeing a patient in Bellingham. She has two more patients in Blaine, but she says, ‘I don’t think I’m going out again today.’

Yeah, it gets old, but it’s heat and snow on the other side of the hills. At least there’s a nearby airport on this side if one needs to escape, plus a freeway heading south.

Wow, the sun is out! It’s still windy, but at least there’s blue sky! Amazing, when an hour ago it was dark and the rain was coming down in sheets.

For those who’ve had knee replacement surgery or are related to someone who’s had it, how long after surgery do you start physical therapy? My sister is having a total knee replacement in about 6 weeks. The surgeon said she needs someone down there for a few days afterward, and it looks like I’m it, but I can’t drive. Rides to and from surgery won’t be an issue, but I’m wondering about PT.

Aw! Scritches to the new truck! (And to Vinnie.)

Someone posted this on Facebook. It’s where I took my drive earlier. (Sorry it’s on FB. I hope you can see it.)

Some surgeons have PT start the afternoon of surgery. Depending where your sister lives she should be able to arrange for a PT to come to her home. Starting exercises immediately is crucial, also hurts less.

You’re a good sister to be there for her. If the surgeon will be recommending a walker it helps to have it there before the surgery so she can practice with it and get used to folding it to get it in and out of the car, etc. Consider a shower stool too.

Afternoon all. Shopping and sammich have both been completed successfully, and the tire place checked and inflated my tires for free to the required 36lbs. Now I’ll watch them for the next couple of weeks to see that they stay there.

No rain comparable to the West Coast Mumpers here, it’s actually a nice fall day (about 60F and N.O.S.).

Nice truck Bumba, and Vinnie is a cutie.

nellie, hope you can get that shot and that Amtrack is on-time for you. Which train do you take?

wiki! Glad to see you around the MMP. And that’s a beautiful name, I’m sure she has enchanted all who meet her.

talkie, glad you’re getting your booster–just don’t be like me and forget about your appointment.

Butters, I know you’re in Key West, but I have to tell you, “69F” and “chilly” really don’t go together…

OK, I am going to shut the computer off and do some kitchen cleaning…really, I am…

Whoa! That’s a lot of water! I’m watching the huge trees behind my place sway in the wind. My fuchsias look drunk but perky, kind of like sorority sisters at a kegger.

Thanks for the excellent advice, Boo! I’ll ask her about both those things. I hope the PT can come to her; otherwise, this is going to get really complicated really fast.

Thank you! I take the Cascades.

Happy Moonday!

Happy Toby Day!
He’s a cutie.

Chilly morning at the park, I should have dressed warmer. It was 40 degrees out, which isn’t bad, except it was windy and sprinkling.
There’s drama at the park again.
I don’t go in the afternoons anymore, so I missed that part of the drama. However, some of our group was there to see it. The police had to come and remove a man who keeps bringing his unneutered pits to the park. One of our morning group puppies got bitten, and the man had the nerve to tell the owner that she should not be bringing a puppy into the park because it can’t defend itself. Well, the puppy is over four months old, and he is bigger than Echo, so that is not the problem. Unneutered males are not allowed in the park, that is the problem.
Even then, nobody is going to care if a dog is unneutered, as long as it isn’t starting trouble.

I heard it got pretty ugly.

Now drama in the morning group and I’m kind of in the middle.
I get told that I am the glue that holds our group together. I have the phone numbers of our core group and I co-ordinate to see who is coming, what time we are meeting up, if we will be meeting at the other park, etc. I’ve started giving weather reports too since I am usually the first person to get there. What weather apps say and reality aren’t always the same, and it’s always a bit colder/windier/wetter at the park.
Well, some of the people in the group are upset with another member of the group and of course I am the one hearing about it. Number6 has a barky dog, not the same one that got us yelled at by a neighbor, a different barky dog. I know Number7 has left early because of the barking, and Number4 has left early because of the barking. I was getting irritated by it today, especially because it was windy too. And I can feel the tension building over the barking. Now Number1 has asked me to let them know if Number6 is coming, because if they are, then Number1 isn’t coming. I have a feeling that that is going to happen with more of the group.
I hate drama.

I’m a mess today.
I got nipped at the park yesterday. I know which dog did it but I’m not telling because it was just an accident. I didn’t think much of it until I saw the blood. Today my fingertip is swollen, purple, and sore. What I thought was dried blood under the nail is actually a bruise. No amount of soaking is going to get that out.
The side of my other hand is swollen and purple. Echo saw a squirrel and tried to take off as I was opening the gate. My hand slammed into the gate, it hurts like hell, but I’m sure nothing is broken.

Let the games begin, I guess.
My son got a ‘Very Official’ looking letter today. The kind with the warning on it about the $2000 fine if you interfere with or obstruct the delivery of this letter.

I wonder how many more of these he will receive.

Glad your plumbing is back Shoe
I went through a week of no plumbing a few years ago.
My neighbor and I share a drain pipe, the clog was on her side, and it took forever for her landlord to give permission to fix it.
Another reason I want to get out of this house.

I agree with MetalMouse Butters, 69 and chilly to not go together.

Your needleirk is quite nice Unknown.
I had meant to say something before, it’s interesting that the house is in pinks and blues. When I was looking for a house, there was a house across from the one I was looking at, a Victorian that was painted pink and baby blue. It was very pretty, even though those colors seem odd for house.
I’ve tried finding it again, I want a picture of it.

Sorry to all of you with weather woes

Howdy Y’all! I got over my puniness this mornin’. So much, in fact, we decided to hit the hog trough Golden Corral for the geezer late N.O,L./early sup discount. I did not want to eat this mornin’, but I made up for it there.

Nellie yay for gettin’ an appointment. Hope the itchies go away tomorrow.

Bumba the truck and Vinnie are adoreable.

wiki :: tackle hug :: I agree that is a beautiful name. I bet she’s just a lil’ charmer!

All y’all (that’s southern for a big group of folks) with rain and weather woes stay safe.

sari I had no idea that a dawg park could be such a drama fest!

talky yay for booster shot! I get mine Wednesday.

I like canned cranberry sauce. There, I said it, and I ain’t ashamed!

nellie Love the imagery of sorority sisters at a kegger. Made me chuckle.

We’re getting the first snow of the year this evening. I drove home from the shop in a mix of flurries and sunshine. Supposed to get an inch tonight. Not ready.

swampy We always do both the canned cranberry sauce and the real stuff. A nice slab o’ cranberry goes great on the turkey sammich.

I sincerely hope I have a chance to try this :sandwich: this year. :crossed_fingers:t3:

Looks like the weather was too much for the tire shop. :frowning:
