Weddingdope!

Hey MADs…

He’s actually lured the Blue Ridge hermits down from the mountaintop…

Lady Chance, Baby Kate and I will be there.

How 'bout them apples?

Hey, what’s the dress code for this thing? Do I have to buy some socks?

Especially now that you and ‘someone’ are engaged. I’m hoping to congratulate you both in person! You’ll even get to meet the lovely **Mrs. Firefly.

That you’ll be able to do (and we’ll be able to do). Hotel room is reserved, and we’ll be heading down some time Saturday afternoon!

Well, I got the day off (I just realized last week that weddingdope and renfestdope are 7 days apart) so I’ll be there regardless of time. I think I have some socks somewhere.

Crap. I think I’m gonna have to wear non-“Look at me I’m young and athletic!” attire…

I suppose I’ll show up.

I’ll miss a free Spiro Gyra concert, and I’ll miss double experience day in Medievia, and I’ll miss a friend’s kid’s birthday party…but I’ll be there, I guess.

sigh

The things I do for you people.

[sub]a note to the challenged: this is a “duh.”[/sub]

Cool beans - seeya at the wedding!

This is gonna be fun! Can’t wait to see yizz all!

Ginger, have fun getting your fiancee visa! I suggest you hit the beach afterwards to cool off your frustration with bureaucrats…

Barbarian, I anticipate no issues. In fact, I’m heading there in about 3 hours to dazzle them with my lovely smile and preparedness.

And for those of you asking about dress code: The fashion police will be out in full force, I’m sure - but wear whatever you want anyway. Unless it’s a long white-ish gown, you’re fine.

No, Dave, that doesn’t mean I’ve relented on the Day-Glo orange tuxedo.

Damn. You’re telling me I have to go buy another outfit?

Let us know how it went, Ginger! Hopefully, you have everything you need, and will come out of there smelling like a rose.

It was a great pleasure meeting you this past weekend at the Vancouver Dopefest. While I can’t be at the wedding n person, I send you my best wishes for a long and happy life together.

So that means that I don’t have to wear which of the following:

  1. A blazer/sportcoat/one of those black hot things.
  2. A tie
  3. Socks
  4. Black/dress shoes
  5. Anything else generally associated with a suit

Reason I’m asking is I’m thinking it isn’t going to be 50 degrees and windy day of the wedding. In fact, I rather suspect that if it is not raining, it may very well be the slightest bit hot (by which I mean really quite annoyingly hot, the kind of heat where people sweat if they’re covered in ice).

I always send this to almost-marrieds. It’s hilarious and terrifying at the same time.

Enjoy, and congratulations to both of you. . .

The manor is air conditioned. The outside is not, but I would imagine we’ll only be outside for the ceremony half an hour or so. Pun, wear pants, wear shorts, wear whatever you’re comfortable in. Unless it’s a long white dress like Zappo, mkay?

By the way, ladies and gentlemen, I now posess my K-1 Visa. It was stressful and expensive, but I am actually allowed to marry on my wedding day. What a novel idea!

Well, I’m happy you got the visa, Ginger. Now things can proceed apace. (or whatever it is they say in those books I always find myself reading)

Pros:
Last chance to kiss Ginger.
I have the perfect suit.
Ocean City, baby!

Cons:
It’s about a 12-hour drive from Montréal.
Maryland is like a big weird army base.
The Canadian dollar just went down 2 bucks in the last 2 days.

O.K. I’ll probably pass, but please accept my most earnest best wishes for a happy future. I’ll be tying imaginary beer cans to your bumper during the wedding, cheers Dave!

P.S. We wanna see pictures!

Ginger, I am envious :frowning: I still don’t have mine and we applied in January! ARRGH!

I am so happy for you two  HUGS

Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave…

What timing. I was just thinking that I might try the hetero thing some time on Sunday and it’s just too late. Ginger got there before me and swept you off your feet.

I’ll definitely be thinking about you two this weekend.

Lots of love to you both,

Tibs.

Good luck on the upcoming “I do’s” .

Those of us who cannot be there are with you in spirit and we expect pictures!

Don’t worry, Shirley. I’ll put Hamadryad to work on it.
