Weddingdope!

I just put the Lovely and Talented Geobabe on a flight northbound. I follow tomorrow. Woo-Hoo!

Congrats! Since this is the first I’ve heard of it, and the nuptials are the day after tomorrow, and I live on the other side of the continent, I won’t be in attendance. But have a blast all!

Ginger & Weird Dave

I’m happy for both of you, Ginger for getting married before me (who knew?), and Dave, 'cause I have some idea of what you’re in for. She’s been a dear friend for years, and I wish you the best.

Just remember to always tell her how pretty she is today

Oh, and give my love to the puppies, especially the one in the green bucket.

T minus how many hours now, folks? For some reason I can’t count atm…

It’s because of that Fairfax County school system, 'pun.

I got our gift today. We’re ready and I’m ready to roll!

Best wishes to you. I’ll be in MD tomorrow visitng my best friend and his fiance.

The missus and I just reserved a room at the Red Roof Inn at Exit 85 for tomorrow night so we don’t have to leave the party early. Who else is staying in the neighborhood tomorrow night?

Bit of a hijack…I’s a casualty of the RI school system.

I was actually at Target about an hour ago and couldn’t figure out how many months it was from October until July.

Oh … not to be one of those “hey cutie I emailed you! flirt flirt wink wink!” types, but RT, if you’d be so kind as to check your email I’d be muchly appreciative:) I tink u veel uhnnerstant.

[SUB]I have no idea what accent that was…[/SUB]

Not us, I’m afraid. We travel back up the mountain tomorrow night. But we’ll be there enough to make it fun.

I gotta head back to Pennsyltucky tomorrow evening. But it’s only about a 75 mile drive, so I don’t need to leave early or nothin’. . .

I’m a little sick, so I’m not hugging anyone, but we’ll be there with bells on. Ok no bells but still.

One thing I’m concerned about… I don’t have any nice clothes that fit me anymore. Will I be a slouch if I wear something casual? I may run to the consignment shop and see if they have any dresses under $15 or so…

If I’m feeling extra-specially dressy-uppy tomorrow, I might put on a tie. But then I’m also the sort of person who would not have any qualms wearing a tank top to mass, so you get what you pay for;)

I will, however, be wearing my new dress shoes that I got from Target that cost me $20. And and AND they are neither hideous nor ill-fitting.

Same here, would love to attend but can’t. Happiness to you both! Hope Dave’s over his morning sickness by now…

The computer had a minor melt-down, so I couldn’t get on till now, but I wanted to say how wonderful the whole thing was.

The bride was gorgeous, the ceremony was beautiful, the food was wonderful, and, of course, the company was beyond compare. We had a wonderful time, and wish Dave and Ginger life-long love and happiness.

So, where are the pictures??

Pictures, schmictures, everybody wants everything yesterday. Sheesh.

I’ll second Lucretia on all that. The wedding ceremony was outdoors, and the weather was kind enough to cooperate: the clouds kept things cool, but the rain held off. The bride was indeed gorgeous, but then she has looked pretty damned good on days when she wasn’t getting married, so that was no surprise.

We got to blow bubbles at the bridal couple instead of throwing rice, which I thought was a nice touch. Especially since we all got to have bubble-blowing wars after the ceremony.

There were a whole bunch of us Dopers there, but there was a reasonable amount of mixing between Dopers and non-Doper family and friends. The missus and I had a great time, and though it ended much too soon, we worked around that by having a leisurely breakfast with True Pisces and Verrain the next morning before heading back down the road.

I successfully braved two traffic jams (one I think was some sort of sports-related thing and the other was a combination of some MAJOR rubbernecking and some resurfacing … with of course no signs to warn us). So instead of taking maybe an hour and a half, it took almost two hours. But I getted home safe and exhausted an’all’at.

Y’all have some rockin’ kids and stuff. I think a quote from GingyDope (“I’m gonna go run outside, mom.”-hammy’s kid. “Want me to chase you around?”-me. “Sure!”-same kid.) sums it up pretty well:)

I’ll second RT’s seconding Lucretia on all of the above. The ceremony was beautiful, the food was excellent, and a good time was had by all.

The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome, the ring bearer was all studly in his tuxedo. Yeah, that Matthew’s gonna be a ladykiller someday. Both the bride and groom’s respective families are thoroughly charming people and I enjoyed myself immensely.

Hmmm. Wonder ifI can get Dave to cater my next wedding. Or make him cook something for AirmanRobynBabyDope. . .

Gotta admit, we had fun. Even if we DID run back up the mountain to a place where the temperature was reasonable.

It was a great ceremony. A sense of humor by the presiding religious guy always makes for fun. I’m glad we were there.

Two points:

Major props to the three(!) seperate people who, when Eileen introduced herself as Mrs Chance corrected her with, “LADY Chance! Hello!”

And Baby Kate walked away with 8(!!!) of those little bubble jars. They’re scattered all over the house.

Anyway, best wishes to Dave and Ginger. Best always!

Just popping into say:
Yeah! What they all said!
Simple, ellegant, fun!

Congrats to the happy couple!
