What are you eagerly awaiting?

+1.

Also: Harry Potter, *30 Rock *season, *The Office *season.

  • The election (I have a hope for how it will turn out, but I am eagerly awaiting the election itself…)

  • Watchmen - please be good and please help this great work cross-over more into the mainstream

  • my new guitar neck - I had to send one back (link to other SDMB thread) - I hope this one is great and I can keep going!!

Fallout 3 - I know it’s not all that true to the first two, which I play/played to death and still love, and I know oblivion was beautiful but a little boring, but it still looks like a fun game.

GTA4 on the PC - It will be sweet if they remove that really disappointing distance blur the PS3 version uses.

Diablo III - Diablo II must be in my top 5 list of games that I’ve wasted my life on.

Starcraft II - It’s been a while since I’ve found a fun RTS game, I think Supreme Commander or Sins Of A Solar Empire was the last one. As long as the new race doesn’t ruin the balance then it might be the best ever. It might even topple AoE2 as my favourite.

There are a couple of RPGs on the horizon that look promising too. I can’t remember their names atm though. I think Dragon Age was one of them.

I recognise that PC gaming isn’t quite as rosy as it used to be but there’s still a lot for me to look forward to.

Thanks, That;s the first I heard of that one!

Me, I’m looking forward to my son being able to talk, and us doing stuff together. He is four months old now.
Warning: cute pics of Maastricht son ahead!

And back when he was 2,5 months old:

Here’s a cute movie of him giggling while being tickled by his dad:

Somebody, stop me

My next excuse to use my new Smoker…I’m thinking smoke turkey for Thanksgiving.

I’m also looking forward to winter: a fire in on the hearth; our daughter’s first Christmas; and my yearly reading of a Christmas Carol at the bar in The Pub with some Guinness and Shepherd’s pie.

Dream Theater’s “Chaos in Motion” DVD and U2’s remastered “Under a Blood Red Sky” CD/DVD, both out next week.

The Elder Scrolls V: Whatever – no other computer game comes close.

Movie versions of Ender’s Game, The Talisman and The Long Walk; none are likely to happen in this life, sadly. :frowning:

Looking Forward to

Release of David Cook’s album. He was this year’s winner of “American Idol”. Yeah, I watched the last few shows of last season, and the guy is very talented. He won with his integrity intact (which is hard for that show), his winning moments were darn good TV, and I’m not ashamed to say his is one Cinderella story I can really get behind.

New Jame Bond movie!

Next season of “Lost”

Episodes of “Big Bang Theory”, “House”.

Lovely Fall weather

And the end of the Bush presidentiary.

Iron Man dvd.
Watchmen.
Quantum of Solace.
Diablo III.
Wrath of the Lich King.
Dollhouse.

The Watchmen movie.
The James Bond movie.
The rest of the Harry Potter movies.
There are rumors of a Solomon Kane movie in pre-production.

Election day. I am hoping for 24 hours of peace, before they start campaigning for 2012. Probably won’t happen, but one can hope.

I forgot to mention something which MIGHT have been what had made me think of this thread in the first place…

Years ago I heard that another populous game was being worked on (a sequel to populous the beginning) I remember seeing screenshots and thinking it looked pretty good… But this is a few years ago now… Where the hell is this game???

The fulfillment of my dream. I love, LOVE to read, and I’ve always wanted to pass that love to other adults. When I finally retire, I plan to take teaching classes at the local community college, then volunteer everywhere I can to teach adult literacy.

My husband works at an adult high school & deals with fuctioning-level illiteracy. I want to work with those adults (young & otherwise) who want to advance.

I look forward to the day when I can go back to school so I can help others.

Love, Phil

Beat me to it. Can’t wait for my hunter to be able to tame a wyvern.

Can’t wait for an inspired director to realize the Caleb Carr’s The Alienist is just dying to be made into a movie.
Can’t wait to see Mrs. Weasley in the final scene of Deathly Hollows

Oh, and I can’t wait to fly to Vegas and get married in the Little White Chapel in March.
