What day is it in the MMP?

Not a skull. Everybody and their dog does skulls. It’s boring, and repetitive. A Minion maybe.

Hi yourself! We need to take Vinnie to the new vet for a dental visit soon too. The vet was hesitant because of his advanced age, but he really need it. His old vet woulda done it in a minute, but they charge way more for the same service.

{{{{{Miss Owl}}}}}

They have a really good (IMHO) fish sammich at the moment, but it’s a special and will prolly be gone by the time I get to a DQ again. Otherwise, just one of the herd of fast food places.

I wasn’t online at all yesterday and it took a while for me to get caught up, and I forgot most of what I read anyway, so yays, boos whatever. Also, Wifey is here, and she’s talking to me, getting me involved in her projects, etc. It’s taken me 2 hours to read 60 messages.

We got our first shots yesterday. It was run by the local fire dept. Yay! Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue! and it was a well-oiled machine. They even coped quite handily with the fact that I forgot my wallet (It was in my other pants, in the wash. First time I’ve forgotten it in years.) We got there in plenty of time but there was a long line so we were late getting to the actual shots. Our arms were a little sore last night, and I had a bout of diarrhea, but everything gives me diarrhea, so I dunno. We got the Moderna vaccine.
They said they’ll get in touch with us for our second dose when it’s time. That’s assuming they get the vaccine from the state on time. They didn’t say that, that’s just my observation.

Wifey decreed that as soon as we got our shots, and went grocery shopping (at Winco) we were outta there and back over to Central Orygun, where we are now for 2 or 3 weeks.

We filled some of the bird feeders this morning but the birds haven’t discover them yet. Or else they’re mad at us for being gone so long and are on strike.

I need to put some outside clothes on and actually do something.

Happy Firday y’all.

A little bit of awesome

I was on the second lap of my walk, on the other side of the park, when three bald eagles flew out of the trees at an altitude ranging from 10 feet to 20 feet above the ground. A car was about to overtake me on the right side of the road, and the driver stopped and watched them too. One had a white head, and the others were juveniles and had brown heads.

On my third lap, I spotted them about half of a mile or so away, circling.

Howdy Y’all! I actually did neaten up the master bedroom closet. Thus, I did adult today. I rewarded myself with a nap. We got catfish filets with fries, slaw, cheese grits, and hush puppies from a local place for sup. I ordered and paid, and OYKW went and picked it up. Soooooo gooooood! We are stuffded!

flyboy awesome indeed! I would have loved to have seen that.

Moooooom, McMansions tend to have a bigger profit margin for builders, which is why entry level housing is usually modular. Sucks, I know.

metal mouse, it’s spit rain here all day and is slated to for the rest of the weekend. I bugged out of irk after lunch (miracle, I know, at EoM) and took Nelson to the dog park between showers.

seanette, I’ve been at my irkplace for 16 years come May and my department has been moved five times. We’ve been in our current location for ~2.5 years now, so I’m looking for another soon.

magic nancy, Nolensville and Kroger should be a good fit. Do you have a Publix there yet? If you’re driving to Franklin to shop, check out Sprout’s Market for produce and a good meat counter. I go to the one in M’boro and it’s a nice store.

Here in the big city of Smyrna (and throw in Lavergne, which is kinda connected), we have two Publix, a Kroger in each town, a Food Lion, SuperTarget, two WalMarts, Aldi, Sav-A-Lot and ~a dozen ethnic markets, some of which are as big as the smallest supermarkets. I tend to shop at Aldi, either here in town or in the ‘Boro, Sprout’s and Kroger. Occasionally, I hit the Pubic Sto’ or FudKitty. For certain things, I go the Mexican Supermarket down the street or the Asian market across from irk.

The internet upgrade is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, but I’m still sleeping in and doing the usual Saturday chores. Chilling in front of the tube for the rest of the evening.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Taco salads (shredded beef for me, shredded chicken for The Missus) and two margaritas. We picked up a line and tequila on the way to the restaurant, so now we’re both on Tequila #3.

{{{{{MG}}}}}.

And more PRN.

Evening all. Like red, it’s been the predicted rainy day, but it looks like the showers are leaving (for awhile). Not much accomplished today outside of making my Big Bowl O’Sallit disappear this evening. Need to work soccer stuff tomorrow, we’re supposed to start in two weeks and I don’t know how we’re going to make it. But it’s always a last-minute thing with getting the needed volunteers.

flyboy, just how strong are those drinks? I tried Tequila once and that was more than enough for me. And the eagles were awesome, I bet. I follow Virtual Railfan and they occasionally spot some in Fort Madison, Iowa, but to see them up close in real life–nice.

Bumba, glad you got shot; still waiting my turn here in Ali-bama…

FCM, glad the shots went as planned and hope the elders don’t have any bad reactions.

quietly, good-looking cat (when he’s holding still…)

Wizard, positive waves sent for the Missus, and hope Squeaky (great name) gets a good grade on [delete]his[/delete] your science priject…

OK, need to wrap things up and head off to bed for some readin’ and restin’. Catch y’all on Sattiday.

I am very annoyed about my new desk location. I’m damn near half a row away from any other agent, so far away from “my team” that I don’t feel like part of same, but like the unwanted stepchild looking in at the family camaraderie from afar.

Fortunately, I do have an interview tomorrow for another gig, in the thrift store DH was working in. It’ll probably be lower pay (they’re a non-profit), but if it’s not too big a drop, I can most likely make it work, and my sanity is quite important as well. The thrift store would also offer some actual growth and advancement potential that doesn’t exist where I am now. There’s one specialty project that I’ve repeatedly advised manglement that I’d do very well at, but they’d rather put the goldbricking newer guy who SLEEPS at his desk (and is leaving soon anyway) on that than the diligent veteran who so far as they know is entrenched.

I had to look up these towns. Never even heard of them, but then I’m not from the area. I would like to visit Nashville, but not sure when that will happen. My husband’s high school classmate lives there and we already have an invite.

Hubby woke up with some pain which probably indicates a bout of diverticulitis. Last time he caught it early enough and changed his diet so he never actually developed an infection, as confirmed by a blood test. Coincidentally he has a doctor’s appointment on Monday, so I don’t need to make an appointment for him.

Haven’t been to the store on a Saturday since February last year, but I need to go to the grocery store and get low residue foods. And then put other stuff in the freezer since he can’t eat the leftovers.

Weather’s a bit blah after being rather warm and sunny. Another week of that weather and we’re going to have to start mowing the lawn.

I think today’s going to be a couch day, except for the foraging.

Stay safe!

I managed to sleep till 5, sorta. I woke shortly before midnight with a nasty acid backwash in my throat. Eating a slice of plain bread helped, and I was able to fall back to sleep. But eventually, my bladder needed attention, and since Higgs has been sleeping with us, she decided it was time to eat. I let FCD stay in bed and I’ve tended to the fussy puppy, who’s crashed on the couch. But I’m mostly rested.

Today is all about seeing if either of the elders have reactions to their shots. I may run some errands for them - we’ll have to see how things play out. And we may or may not pack to leave in the morning. All TBD. If we do leave tomorrow, we’ll be in for wet weather as we get north, but better rain than the evil white stuff!!

The Wine and Design in Leonardtown is still running classes, so Daughter and I made a reservation for Firday’s Open Studio. It’s where you pick whatever you want to paint from their catalog, and they’ll get you what you need to do it. It should be some fun mother-daughter time. Too bad Roxy’s too young yet.

Onward! Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 83 and maybe mostly N.OS. Or not. TWPTB are once again all willy-nilly about this. Big surprise, I know, but no real plans for the day. Ah, the joys of bein’ a retired drain on society! Burgers 'n fixin’s with fries shall comprise sup. I foresee a lot of Netflix. Hey, it won’t watch itself you know!

MOOOOOOM Wine and Design is an innerestin’ name. Do they pair a wine with what you decide to pain or is it BYOW?

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

swampy, it’s not BYOW, tho you can bring your own water. As I recall, they offer several different wines that you’re supposed to sip while creating your masterpieces. We go for the painting, not the drinking - especially since drinking makes me sleepy and unsafe to drive.

I think it would be a hoot as a Mumper gathering! When I hit the big jackpot, we’ll do that.

Hey, y’all. Not much to say here. Lots to clean up, as I’ve backslid into depression & not eating, again. Plus there’s a ton of clean laundry to put away.

I’m enjoying the cardinal & woodpecker outside my window.

Coyotes. I’m lazing in bed, not quite ready to get up, when an almighty racket erupts in the back yard. I run (well, lumber) to the sunroom door to find an enormous coyote has glommed onto one of the neighborhood stray cats and is trying to carry it off. A yell from me sends the coyote running. By the time I got dressed, the stray got from the stage to under my BBQ cover. I see a ginger tail, but no blood or anything. I’m going to leave the poor creature alone for a bit, so it will calm down. Then I’ll go see who it is and if I can get them into a box and over to the animal hospital, if necessary and they will let me. Wish me luck!

The Grande Cadillac margaritas are 16 ounces, but I don’t think they’re particularly strong. Two are quite enough with dinner. The ones Mrs. L.A. makes are about the same. If I make my own, I tend to make it stronger. I’d be fine with just a dash of margarita mix. Or just tequila. FTR, I had one of Mrs. L.A.'s margaritas last night.

Addendum to my previous: The attacked cat seems to be recovering. It’s one of the abandoned adults from when my neighbors died a few years ago. Looked out the window and she was up and moving around, starting to emerge from under the BBQ cover. No visible wounds or blood, so maybe I scared the coyote away before he got a good grip on her. We’ll see how she does over the next few. There is food and water nearby, and places she can hide and feel safe while she recovers from her trauma.

Glad the outdoor kitty doesn’t appear to be injured silenus. Tango is one handsome puddy tat. :cat:

dicey, let me know when you plan to visit Nashville once the pandemic is over and I will put together a mini Mumpfest. It would be fun to meet you.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and a load of sheets and towels in the wash. In a few minutes, I’ll put them in the dryer and do KP. At some point, I’ll have to get sheveled for when the tech comes to upgrade my wireless.

This morning, when I was stripping the bed, I was tossing the dog toys out of the bedroom as I went. Every time I would toss Señor Pescado out, Nelson would come bringing him back in a weird game of fetch. He needs more dog park time. :stuck_out_tongue:

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Luck has been wished for you. You are a good soul!

Me too. For me, naught to do but to keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep hanging in. With me it is the opposite-I do not much else except eat.

Enjoy those birds! Every time you mention your yard birdies I get wishful but my house, windows and lot layout conspire to make bird watching and bird feeding unattainable. Just fate but I sure wish I had me some birdies to watch. That I have basically two big windows to choose from and three cats who take turns lounging in said windows in staggered shifts staring ominously at any birds who dare to fly by probably does not help my chances. When my ship comes in, I’m gonna put a feeder out in the front yard anyway. Even if I only get squirrels. Squirrels are fun to watch too.

Today’s big adventure was taking MIL to Wal-Mart for a new toaster. Amazingly, it wasn’t a horrible experience for all that it’s Saturday. She’s napping now - I think the shot took more out of her than she’ll admit.

We’re leaving in the wee dark of tomorrow. FCD has a small project to do for his former boss. It could mean a few thousand for minimal work, so why not? I’ll be glad to get home to my own bed with no houseguests. Bliss…

To be specific, good luck!
