What day is it in the MMP?

dicey, hope your hubby continues to improve and is feeling himself again soon.

May the rest of your trip be uneventful Mooooooooom

butters, did your keep the bookkeeper on? You’re right, menopause is no excuse.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting and have a pot of pintos started. I saved one neck bone for the turnip greens to go on this afternoon (try not to be jealous nellie . :stuck_out_tongue: ).

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

No. Me and the guy running it will do it ourselves. It’s Quickbooks and the accountant I use said it should only take two hours a month. I can learn.

butters, good detective work. But stupid of the bookkeeper.(pro tip: If you get caught, blame Antifa. )

There’s something in my ‘Known spam’ folder: ‘I caught my wife riding a 15-inch African manhood.’

Huh? Is that a bicycle? Who would have a bicycle company named Manhood? Maybe it’s an African thing like in some countries they name kids adjectives? (I used to work with a guy named Good.) Anyway, I’m pretty sure it’s a bicycle. I didn’t open the email because I don’t have time, but if this Manhood has 15-inch wheels it’s too small to be a motorcycle. More like a child’s bike. (Unless, maybe it’s a scooter?)

Good morning! 'Tis cloudy here, but it’s supposed to get up to 50º with very little chance of rain, so walking is on my agenda.

Yesterday I finally got around to finishing my will. My goals for this week are to get it witnessed and notarized , make arrangements to donate my body to science, and plan things for my eventual memorial service so the kids have less work to do. Aren’t I a bucket of sunshine? I really want to cross this stuff off my to-do list. I did the Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney years ago but never got around to the rest.

That reminds me: every time I’ve gone to a hospital admitting department for surgery or testing, they always ask if they have a copy of my Living Will. I get the reasons for giving hospitals a copy, though that’d be 7 hospitals in as many years. If I’d known so many places wanted it, I’d have made illustrations and a dedication page. (“To spleens everywhere, with love and gratitude.”) But don’t they know if they have a copy? Or do they think it’d be rude to ask if I’d consider keeping a copy on file there?

Flyboy. before spam filters came around, I got so many, uh, Manhood enhancer ads, I started to wonder if they knew something I didn’t, and I already had 2 kids.

butters, tso glad you got the money back. She’s very, very lucky you didn’t go to the cops first. (I get why you didn’t. Just sayin’ she’s lucky.) I hope she doesn’t embezzle funds from other clients.

bob_bob, I chilled the batter and heated the pan. I think my failure had something to do with making the Yorkshire pudding in one 8x8 pan, as the recipe called for. Yep, individual Yorkshires and popovers are two terms for the same thing, and popovers have always turned out. Yum, popovers. Thanks for the tips!

Dice, hope Mr. Dice feels better pronto. Poor guy. And I love that color on your nails!

Is that the up-model bicycle or scooter?

I’ve never had popovers, but I did have Yorkshire pudding once. I have no desire whatsoever to repeat the experience.

Breakfasted and am working on caffeination. Next comes a load of laundry, and while that’s running I’ll finish loading the dishwasher. Lady SCAdian wants to hit Walmart for litter and dishwasher soap.

Speaking of shopping, in addition to the stores listed above we also have Ocean State Job Lot and a little Indian shop, both of which carry you-nuke-it Indian meals.

Got out of bed at 07:30 this morning. I rubbed the pork first thing, and put it into the oven to cook low-and-slow. Oops! How am I going to make bacon for breakfast if there’s a roast in the oven? (I put for rashers in a cast-iron pan and bake them. It’s easier, more consistent, and less messy than frying.) I know! Instead of bacon and eggs, I’ll make biscuits and gravy! So I cut up two rashers into 32 pieces, and crumbled up some Jimmy Dean’s Sage sausage to cook and to render fat for the gravy. I’d have to go to the store for biscuits. Wait a minute… I need the oven to bake the biscuits! DOH! Anyway, it worked out. Nothing wrong with having the roast on top of the stove for 20 minutes. It’s back in now. Let’s see… 11:00. I guess another four or five hours, and we can pull the pork.

The apartment is clean, and I have the windows open, and the fan going, enjoying False Spring. Alex Catt is in the window, trying to decide which birb to eat.

Nellie I asked her if she keeps books for anyone else and she said no. Funny thing is her regular job is in the same dept I work for on a military base and damned right I told my boss and my bosses boss because she works as an accounting tech. I’m sure she is being watched very carefully and probably having all her work audited right now. I really don’t want to ruin her life or for her to lose her job but this is a woman I considered a friend. I even gave her a hefty cash Christmas bonus. The worst part of it is not even the money but taking advantage of a good hearted man as he was dying. Had she asked him he would have given her the money.

Afternoon all, Stayed in bed until after 9am and still feel a bit out of sorts, but drove about 45 miles to a Dick’s for some new balls…(before any of you report me to the Decency Committee, it’s Dick’s Sporting Goods and Size 4 soccer balls (the local store doesn’t have the yellow ones anymore and I just need a few to supplement my supply). Ate Luncheon at Logan’s down there and rode on home. It’s about 74F outside but lots of clouds and Tunder-Boomers predicted for tonight.

Been working on Soccer league stuff, the 7U (boys born in 2015) division has 54 players but only 5 head coaches to date, need to recruit/strongarm several more, but hopefully we’ll start on-time. Need to makeup 8 teams of 6-7 boys each and hope that I can keep the teams more or less even (not an easy job). Anyway, that’s Moanday’s project.

Butters, that was a good catch and probably the best thing you could have done, if she had denied it or tried to stonewall you, you could have taken it to the cops, but if she’s paid it back then hopefully she’ll think twice about any other customers she has–and I doubt she’ll be asking you for a reference…And just seeing the work info, no doubt you’ve done the right thing all along the line.

flyboy, enjoy the pork dinner…glad I only have to worry about cooking for myself (and not much cooking at that…). And I used to have a hoodie, and I’m a man, but it and I needed no enhancement…

nellie, dag-nabbit, I need to finish my will stuff and get it examined by a lawyer-type, but I have been procrastinating. Thanks for the reminder.

FCM, safe travels home and let us know when you’ve crashed (in your house, that is…)

OK, need to get e-mails out to my coaches and parents on where we go from here.

All y’all continue to have a great Sunday.

I resurrected the batter for pancakes and it was fine. We had two each with chocolate spread and banana and I am stuffed. Still, waste not…

Hi Mom, Hi Mumpers

I am back. I might guess that ya’ll might have some questions about where I have been, ask away. I have missed all ya’ll, I just got weird for a bit.
If nothing else I will join in tomorrow.

Cheers

Capt Kirk

OMG!!! Capt!! Yanno I wondered about you from time to time - especially when spousal unit and I went to see Paula Poundstone in the same venue where we met you! What’s shakin’???

Oh, yeah - HOME!! The car is unpacked and all the stuff has been dealt with. Higgs has been fed, I’ve had a bowl of soup, FCD cleaned the pellet stove and the cat box and he’s reclining with the clicker at hand, so he’s happy. We made the trek in record time - like 12 anna half hours door to door. Glad it’s done.

Plus we beat the rain home - it sprinkled a wee bit but now there’s a gentle shower.

Butters - my daughter did the Quick Books thing for FCD’s business and she did well despite having to figure it out (with the help of our accountant.) You should have no problems with it at all. And a big HOLY CRAP for the light-fingered accountant! :open_mouth:

I know there was more but I’m tired. Maybe I’ll think of amusing anecdotes for the next MMP. But I promise nothing.

Oh Mooooom,
I am well, just wanted to come back home with yall. I have been unemployed for almost a year because the bottom fell out of the Entertainment industry but things are looking pretty good for me. I will have some details tomorrow. Hope you and all yours are well.

Cheers

Capt

Howdy Y’all! We virtually deheathenated, finished cookin’ and then et Sunday N.O.L. (the proper Southern USofA term is Sunday Dinner), cleanded up the kitchen, achieved nappage, and the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Quite the busy day! How do we keep it up!

doggio Happy Doperversary! I say the piece of cake beside your name.

MOOOOOOM glad y’all are home safe and sound.

{{{Jim}}} ::tacklehug:: welcome back. Do come in and tell all!

Butters glad you caught the theivin’ bookkeeper. Also, glad you told the PTB at irk. She needs to be monitored/audited closely.

Glad to be back Swampy, hope all is well with you and yours. Oh I have tales to tell, may start the MMP late tonight. ::tacklehug::. Do I see a SHARK behind you?

Cheers

Jim

ETA d*mn it has been so long I forgot my Mumper name. Shame Shame

Jim

I forgot your Mumper name, too, but I plead exhaustion. In fact, I’m going to turn off the computer and assume the recline position.

Ready to pull the pork, but the pork ain’t ready to be pulled. :frowning:

The Quickbooks applications that I’ve run weren’t hard to pick up butters. You should be in good shape.

Welcome back Jim!

Glad you arrived home safe and sound before the rain Mooooooom.

Got the Sunday chores done, took Nelson to the dog park and got everything cut out, stamped and printed for some Easter / Spring cards. I’ll put a couple of them together tonight.

The pintos, turnip greens and cornbread all came out well and have hit the spot. Fartfest to follow.
