What do you drink, what does it say about you?

Beer - I’d say I buy Corona more than any other kind of beer, but that’s not very often - I’m always trying different stuff, or going back to something I had some time ago that I liked then.

Non-beer soft stuff - Hornsby’s Draft Cider. Buy that more than any beer, I’m hooked.

Straight hard stuff - Jack Daniels. May try Tarantula Azul tequila again sometime, I really liked it but haven’t touched it in over a year after getting seriously messed up on it.

Cocktails - Gin & tonic, martini with lots of olives, scotch and soda

I drink Yuengling Lager religiously.

And for whiskey, you can’t beat a good shot of Bushmills.

As for the rest of the question, what it says about me is that I’m a drunk.

[sub]The preceeding message was typed under the influence.[/sub]

If I’m in a pub, Guinness.
A wine bar, white wine.
A club, double vodka and coke.
A party, Buckfast.
With a meal, red wine (or Cobra with an indian).

I do like alcohol but I would prefer more options (maybe I’ll move to Amsterdam)

Chopin on the rocks, twist of lemon, water back.

What does that say about me? High Maintenance

I’m at ease drinking beer (PA: Yuengling, Rolling Rock; Elsewheres: Ybor Gold, Newcastle Brown), wine (prefer reds), mixed drinks (margaritas, fuzzy navels, gin and tonics) and shots (tequila).

I like having a drink associated with me (my friends would probably say I’m a margarita girl), but also having the flexibility to go out and have a pitcher of beer. Or sit around, as we did last weekend, solving the world’s problems and some roommate disputes doin’ tequila shots.

What does all this say about me? I’m a good time, know how to have fun in various situations…?

Yup, and I am. I even find the stuff is drinkable…if you throw in a squeeze of lemon and a shot of Two Fingers.

Oops, forgot one: If you’re in the Near North Side a Chicaguh, it’s got to be a chilled longneck a Old Style.

(And just watch Gaudere and UncleBeer and Jophiel and Omniscient edge away from you!)

What I drink: a generous shot of blue-label Smirnoff mixed with strawberry kiwi fruit juice.
What it says about me: I’m a poor college student who just barged into a friend’s room and all they’ve got left from the night before is blue-label Smirnoff, and I’ve got a dollar to buy some strawberry kiwi juice at the vending machine down the hall.

My number one choice is mead (essentially honey-wine, for those of you who aren’t familiar with it). I prefer my own brews, but will drink Chaucer’s. I prefer it at room temperature–it seems sour to me when mulled, and leaves a bitter aftertaste when chilled. I suppose it says that I’m a Ren/Fantasy geek.

My first choice for shots is Cuervo Mystico (yes, Cuervo has its flaws, but I like the orange liqueur flavor of Mystico). My second choice is sambuca. I like hot, sweet shots (though I tend to sip rather than actually shoot them). I can’t even guess what this says about me, except maybe that I don’t have cheap tastes.

My choice for mixed is a margarita. When I make my own, I’m very particular about what I put in it: warm Mystico, mixed with a tablespoon of honey and then added to real lime juice (diluted about 3:1 with water) over ice. I don’t salt the rim. This is my sweet tooth in action again, I guess.

My drink of choice is beer. Preferably a nice heavy microbrew, the liquid bread kind. A bock or a stout or anything that feels substantial and earthy going down.

What does this say about me? That I’m a simple man of simple tastes, I guess. That I am a grog-drinking unpretentious sit-with-me-on-the-porch-and-let’s-talk-football kind of guy. I’d order a beer even if I was in some swanky bistro and getting “who let in the rube?” looks. Image doesn’t mean much to me. I drink what I like because I like it, and I’ve never developed much taste for mixed drinks.

'sides, I live in Wisconsin. We don’t get much call round here for gimlets and martinis and sherrys. It’s too hard to mix drinks with gloves on in the parking lot at Lambeau Field.

Not much of a beer drinker, but I will have one on a hot day if I’ve been out in the sun and worked up a thirst. I do like a very, very dry martini or scotch on the rocks with water back, though. I haven’t got a clue as to what that may say about me.

I drink, nearly exclusively, cheap red wine.

What does this say about me? It says I am a poor underage college student. For reasons which I probably can’t detail on this board, it is fairly easy for me to get wine, despite my underage status. Beyond that, I have zero to no tolerence, so I stick to less potent drinks. I can’t stand beer, so that leaves me with wine.

I like the romance that goes along with wine. Wine is a drink with history. It is a drink with legends and craftsmanship. Wine is something you drink with someone you love, or at least good friends. Of course you can’t get all that in a three dollar bottle. A three dollar bottle still goes well together with food (I love to cook) and it still makes me happy.

Bourbon rocks. Almost exclusively. Any kind will do, but I prefer Jim Beam.

What does it say about me? That my Daddy taught me how to drink like a man!

I love alcohol!

Single Malt Scotch = Oban, Dalwhinie, Bunnabhabhaim(?), Talisker, Dalmore, Glenfiddich. I’m sure there are others, but I just can’t remember right now.

Blended Scotch = Famous Grouse, Chivas Regal, J&B+club soda

Bourbon = Canadian Club, Jack Daniels (black label), Maker’s Mark. I’m sure there are others, but I just can’t remember right now.

Cognac = Courvoisier

Beer = Guiness, Murphy’s Irish Stout, Negra Modelo+lime, Bass Ale, Young’s Oatmeal Stout, Harps, Kirin Ichiban, Sapporo, Asahi, Blue Moon Belgian White Ale+lemon. I’m sure there are others, but I just can’t remember right now.

Red Wine = most things with Mourvedre in them, most wines from the Maipo region in Chile, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Petit Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon

White Wine = Daggeneau’s 1994 PurSang & 1997 Silex (C’est magnifique!); Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay

What all of this says about me, is I’m a multicultural, snooty, HIGH MAINTENANCE, BROKE, absent-minded (I’ve killed too many brain cells drinking liquor!), alcholic!

Cheers!

Bailey’s (or any kind of irish cream) and coffee or hot chocolate. Can’t stand beer (long and gross story) and I don’t like wine or champagne (I’ll toast at weddings, but that’s out of politeness)
Other drinks? In the summer I’m more likely to have a margarita or daiquiri or some such icy drink, but I usually return to my Baileys. I’m a real lightweight when it comes to liquor and it doesn’t sneak up on me like rum and whiskey drinks do.

What I’m drinking depends on the season, my mood or meal…
Winter, I like a nice hearty beer, like Newcastle Brown, or a Black and Tan made with Guinness and Harp’s. Or a rich warm red wine, like a nice Autralian Cab/Shiraz blend or just a Cabernet Franc (very velvety wine I like to enjoy while taking a bath) or even a nice warm sake.

Summer, I like a crisp clean beer to go with my fiery hot food cooked on the grill, so it’s gotta be a Rolling Rock. If I’m having seafood, I might go with a Pinot Grigio wine. Autumn, I tend to like reislings. Not sure why, maybe it’s because I like all those autumn fruit type dishes then and it’s a wine that works with it.

Spring, well, this spring it’s been a little of everything. Jameson Irish whiskey does seem to be the flavor of the month around here though.

As far as everything else…Tequila, I like El Grito, stuff so smooth and evil you’ve drunk half the bottle before you notice you can’t see straight.

Vodka, depends on how I’m drinking it. Mixed, Gilbey’s is just as good as Skyy when you’ve diluted it with anything. If I want a vodka martini, or a lemon drop, make it Chopin vodka.

Scotch, either Balviene or Macallan single malt (I like them with a hint of sweetness, and rocks please)

Cognac, I like this little known stuff, Hardy’s. To me it tastes like a good bourbon with just a hint of vanilla and not that strong burn.

Bourbon, Maker’s Mark. Can’t get any better for me.
I don’t care for Gin or Rum. And, never NEVER give me a drink that had to made in a blender! What does this say about me? (Besides, the obvious “you’re a drunken fool”)

It says to me that you’d like The Edradour.

If you can find it.

I can’t stand beer. It’s *nasty[/], folks. Nasty.

I have to admit… I drink hooker drinks. White Russians, amaretto sours, things with butterscotch schnapps in them, and, dare I admit it, Beringer’s White Zinfandel.

I also like a good screwdriver with decent vodka.

Or a good Cosmpolitan.

And when I can afford it, I’ve grown quite fond of Crown.

But it dosen’t stop me from ordering amaretto sours and eating the cherries.

Maybe I should knock off the umbrella drinks, if I can’t manage to turn my italics off.

Hmmm, good question, this.

Since I’m not wealthy enough to have a bar, and I tend to drink up what’s in the house quickly, what I drink depends upon the phase of the moon, the amount of money in my pocket, and what’s going on in my life at the moment.

If I’m flush, I like to have a bottle of Jamison’s around the house, although I remember a friend’s Black Bush and discovered how good whiskey tastes when it’s not distilled in a radiator.

But mostly, I like beer: Guinness in the can (the bottled variety is much too bitter tasting), Bass or Harp. I’ve also drunk St. Pauli and Bud, but if I don’t have much money, I’ll drink just about anything. I got through college on Old Milwaukee in the cup, .50 each.

In champagnes, I favor the Spanish Brut Friexent Negro (sorry about the spelling). Comes in a black bottle.

In mixed drinks, generally a gin and tonic, especially out in a hotel bar in a social situation.

Oh, and Bailey’s, although I found making it myself to be MUCH cheaper, if not quite the same taste (but good enough for me).

Wine, of course, especially from Nissley, a Pennsylvania winery. The whole range, reds to whites, and a Montmorency Cherry that’s adorable with ham. Generally, wines are drunk with dinner.

As for what all this makes me, that’s easy: a drunk.

I never drink “lite” or “light” beer.

I also make fun any man whom does.

I drink Killian’s Irish Red, and my Italian family/friends think I’m nuts for drinking anything that says “Irish” on it.

Such is the price for growing up in an Italian and Irish neighborhood where the groups hated eachother.
