I don’t care for it. Not that hair has to be down to your ankles, but too short doesn’t do a thing for me.
It’s risky, but I can look very good, IMO. Post a photo after you get the cut.
I think the cute is cute, but I think he’d get old quick. It has one style. I don’t think she’s cute at all.
Fugly. Some women can pull it off, but that subset of the population is incredibly small. You have to have just the right head, face, and body type, and even then, there are more attractive options you can employ.
I can understand why you’d want a hairstyle like that- it looks so easy to take care of! However, I’m not particularly fond of hair being quite that short. If you want shorter hair, I prefer some of the slightly longer short-haired styles that Alyssa Milano has used, such as this one, or this one.
I just got finished growing my hair back out, from that haircut. It took forever, with many trimmings. Unlike other short layered cuts, it doesn’t grow out, as long layers. Every single hair is a diferent length than the one next to it.
I loved the hairstyle while it was short, but I couldn’t afford to keep it cut every 6 weeks.
I love it. Love it.
A few years ago a number of my friends got similar, short haircuts and they all looked so fabulous that I did the same. I loved how it looked. And I got hit on by an enormous number of women (which indicated to me that I should have done it while I was single).
I grew it back because my husband didn’t like it (there definitely seems to be a gender aspect to preferences for this haircut! - it’s the only time he’s ever indicated a strong preference about my appearance) and it was too much work - I went from trimming my long hair myself every six months or so, to having to go to a salon every month. Ugh.
It does take a long time to grow out into something that doesn’t look like you’re growing out a short haircut.
I don’t have any strong opinion about the look in itself but do want to warn that it might not be as easy to maintain as it looks. I have this big cowlick on my head and when it was short, no matter what I put on to it or did to it there was always one tuft of hair standing straight up. Longer hair is way easier to handle in my case.
I had a similar hairstyle for a while. You don’t have to have beautiful features to pull it off, but you do need a strong bone structure and your features need to be relatively feminine. It worked well in my 20’s to early 30’s. Once I hit my mid 30’s, I had to let it grow a bit. Those same strong features that worked in my youth just looked really hard with short hair as I aged!
It is easy to care for (if you don’t have cowlicks), but it’s not really versatile. There’s only so much you can do with gell or mouse if it’s that short. You pretty much have one look. You also have to keep it cut every 4 weeks or so. It grows out quickly (and starts getting mullett like if you let it go too long).
There’s a lady in my office who has hair that short and colored a real light blonde. It looks good for all of a week and a half. You just can’t hide roots with hair that short!
I think it looks really sexy on her. If you have a gorgeous face and you’re thin, you can pull off haircuts like that. If not, then it needs to be a little longer.
A woman in my office wears her hair short like that. It’s very attractive. I can’t imagine her hair any other way.
I also loved when Sharon Stone wore hers like that. And Halle Berry looks absolutely gorgeous with short short hair.
There is honestly nothing she could do to her hair that I would not like. Some women look good with short hair, others, not so much. I do prefer running my hands through longer hair though.
I had a pixie for years and I loved it. It is a drag to grow out, though, as others have said. Every once in a while, I’m tempted to go back to super short, but my husband doesn’t like that look. I might do it anyway.
I really like the hairstyle, though the woman in the picture is so homely I can barely stand to look at her. Who is she, anyway?
I should also say, as some people here have pointed out, it’s probably a better hairstyle on a thinner person. (Though maybe someone can hunt up some pictures to show the contrary?)
Extremely hot! Of course this is coming from someone whose wife has a similar hair style and thinks that most women with longer locks look like they are wearing a hair helmet. Yuck!
Being able to see a woman’s neckline is extremely attractive, all that hair gets in the way.
Damn, you must have some high standards. “Homely” is definitely not a word I’d use to describe Alyssa Milano.
I don’t normally mind short hair on girls, but I think that’s just too short.
I’ve never been a big fan of short hair on women and I would certainly never cut my hair above chin length (unless I had to for some reason).
It is my (oh so humble) opinion that hair like that can really age a person. Maybe it is because short hair seems to be the new soccer mom look? Anyway, I’m not fond of it.
I like this look, but as others have said, it needs to be used judiciously. Halle Berry and Wynonna Ryder looked absolutely stunning with it (Halle, what are you thinking, with this mop? Go back to short, please.) But, after all, it’s still only hair. Do it. Do it do it do it. And post pictures.
I have that exact cut. I get lots and lots of compliments.
I’m also big boobed and downright fat. I’m also butch. This is a much much much more feminine hair cut than any of the longer styles I’ve had. Chin length hair makes me look about 50 pounds heavier than I really am. The super short hair makes my face look much thinner than it is.
I also have lots of weird cowlicks and all sorts of strange waves. A good hairstylist will work with these and cut your hair appropriately. (I go to Great Clips, so I’m not necessarily recommending a $90 haircut).
You know, Wynonna Ryder, that country singer who got arrested for shoplifting. to me.
