What do you think of this hairstyle?

It’s a taste thing, you know – some people like real short hair on women, some don’t. You’re never going to be able to please everyone. If you think you’ll like it, give it a shot. If you hate it, let it grow out and try something different.

As for the idea that the cut can only work on tiny women, absolutely beautiful women, well, I’m not sure that’s strictly true. I mentioned my daughter already – she is tiny*, as I said, and very pretty, IMO, but I can’t say, objectively, that she is super gorgeous a la Halle Berry. And yet the style looks really cute on her – people comment on it all the time. Granted, people who hate real short hair on women aren’t going to like it – again, it’s a taste issue. My mother also wears a variation on the boy-cut hairstyle and has for 40 years. She is shortish, but not super-petite (5’3") and slightly overweight with strong (but pretty) features. And the style looks great on her too. A couple of months ago, I took the plunge and had my own hair cut that short – and I hated it on me. Despite the fact that I love it on my mom and daughter and there is a very strong resemblance between the three of us. I just didn’t like it on me – so I grow a bit to a more medium-shot length and I’m very happy with it. It’s only hair – it grows back!

A few years ago, I went to a new place to get my hair cut. Instead, the stylist bushwacked it so short I cried. It was shaved in the back. I had to by a wig until it grew out. (I kid not.) It was about the same style as the pic, and no, it wasn’t attractive on me.

I clicked on the link in badbadrubberpiggy’s post at work and immediately got infected with all sorts of spyware and viruses. My computer is trashed. Don’t click on that one!

I had my hair that short once during summer - never again. It’s a pain to style, and short hair looks awful on me because it makes my small head look freakishly TINY.

/Like a pea on a mountain of mashed potatoes!

I’ve got a big melon, so I can wear my hair short without looking like a pinhead. If I get big hair, I look like a giant broccoli.

Whoa! When did Alyssa Milano turn into Pat Benatar?

I wore my hair that short for a few years. I was younger and slimmer then, and I thought it was adorable. (Looking at old pictures of myself, I still think so.) My hair felt amazingly soft; it never had the time to get roughed up by sun and wind.

Short hair is OK on women, but I prefer it to be a little messier, not all stuck to the head like that.

Just my opinion:
Does not look good on her or most women.
I agree very short hair works better with Elfish face.
I personally love long hair.

I wore my hair exactly like that when I turned 30. It looked great and I loved having it that length. I let it grow out for my wedding.

I think it’s like that is because it’s just so short. There’s nothing to mess up.

My boyfriend is crazy about short hair on women, he’s also highly fond of buzz cuts and even totally bald look (which I would go for to please him if I thought my parents wouldn’t freak out  - my usual hair length being 6mm ).
Beside the general look, he finds naked necks hot, and the fact there is no long flowing hair getting in the way at all/“hiding the view” during certain activities awfully convenient on top of that.

Yeaaah, Angelic, you’re a gem ! Women are made to be different from men. Anything that makes them look like men seems unnatural. The same can be said about men who try to look like women. I admit though that short hair looks better on some girls. But shaved heads ? echh. Even on men. I know it’s fashionable now.

This is just your opinion, not a pronouncement though, right? I think people should be able to wear their hair how they want without suddenly being judged “unnatural.” I reckon, personally, that you can’t get more luciously feminine than Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina. Her hair was trend-settingly short.

I had my hair that short for years and I loved it. Be warned though - you need very even features and decent bone structure to carry it off.

Really? I didn’t even get a pop-up from there. Had I known, I wouldn’t have put it up!

I’ve had no problems with it here.

That, my friend, is a highly dubious statement. Are we talking pants here? Comfortable shoes? Unshaved legs? Mustaches? Who is judging the "unnatural"ness of what a woman looks like? I don’t wear high heels or dresses or make-up, and my hair is fairly short; I don’t consider myself unnatural-looking at all.

Unnnatural to me, I should have added. I’m pretty sure if you saw some guys in miniskirts or long dresses you’d do your best to avoid staring at them.
