Cold, blowing snow. Not that I can see it from my cube farm.
I work in the basement; I have no windows. [Sniff] But according to weather.com its 66F and drizzling out.
70F, grey sky, looks like it wants to rain in Baltimore County.
Sunny but cold (34F).
And windy. Last night it was so windy that my wind chime kept waking me up. I’ve had that chime for over a year and that never happened. Around 4am I got up and ripped it off the hook.
Reporting from south Chicago - snowing quite prettily at the moment. Unfortunately it was raining yesterday so the ground is probably covered with ice under all that snow.
Argentina? I was thinking “Australia” until you mentioned ‘tango’.
If you are going from heated building to heated car in an urban environment, you can get away with regular clothes, a sweater, and cover them with a fashionable winter coat and gloves and boots. Be aware, though, that htis leaves with no extra warmth if your car breaks down. We always kept extra blankets and sucvh in the car, just in case.
If you are going to be be outside for more than a few minutes, wear the following: Underwear. Trousers and T-sirt. Sweater. Parka. Thick socks. Mitts. Real winter boots. Toque.
If you are going to be outside for more than twenty minutes or so, especially if you are not moving around much (such as waiting for a bus), add another layer, such as an undershirt and long-johns, or sweat pants and a sweatshirt under the trousers and sweater. Also add a scarf, and pull your parka’s hood up over your toque.
Peiople become larger during winter in Canada. This is especially noticeable on crowded buses.
The weather forecast said it wouldn’t get above 65 today. Currently it’s 74 outside. Go figure.
Gray here in the Upper Valley NH/VT. Spitting rain earlier, but quite temperate. weather.com says 45.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas break.
Here in my suburb of Chicago, we have about 14" of snow on the ground, but it looks like it wants to stop snowing.
I have two dogs in the backyard…I seem to have lost the dachshund for the moment.

It’s 39F, sunny and a little hazy around the moutains. It’s supposed to get back up into the 60s today.
I’m in eastern PA, and it’s 67 and grey, but not really raining. It’s supposed to go down to 30 by tomorrow morning. That’s really going to suck.
Central Indiana. Blowing hard. Rainsnow is coming down and freezing onto everything except the ground. Nasty, nasty day.
Right now, it is partly cunny and very nippley.
Hot and hazy: 81F with 73% humidity. Windy, too.

Ow. Bright sunlight. My eyes hurt now.
Currently in Memphis it’s bright, partly cloudy, and a balmy 32F/0C degrees. Considering that yesterday we reached 71 for awhile, this is quite the drop in temperature.
In my area we got rain and some rain that was a bit too solid to be rain but not solid enough to be called freezing rain, sleet, nor hail.
Don’t see any evidence of it this morning though, just a bunch of leaves and random small bits of tree debris knocked down by the wind last night.
The next week or so looks to be fairly normal for this time of year: upper 40s and low 50s during the day.
No snow though.
<< BUFFERS=20 FILES=15 2nd down, 4th quarter, 5 yards to go! >>
Still raining. Weather Network says it’s down to 2C. They take their measurements at the airport, and I work just west of there, so it’s pretty accurate for my work. (Avoids the heat island effect of downtown and the moderating effect of the lake, should these occur.)
Right now, at 12:30, 83 degrees / 63% humidity. Might rain a little bit later. At least it’s breezy today, cause yesterday was completely still and miserable. God, I’m ready for a little bit of cold weather.
Same here, although this part of the wall o’ winter is only going to result in high winds and thunderstorms.
The short answer is “plenty.”
The long answer is layers for regular clothes (undershirt, regular shirt, sweater, extra socks, etc.), plus a heavy parka with a high collar and hood, wool hat covering your ears, mitts (better than gloves), scarf, warm boots with good treads to avoid slipping on the ice…
You know it’s winter when just dressing to go outdoors for even a short amount of time means going through a dressing process similar to that of NASA astronauts.
I’ve got 7.5 inches of snow now at my place.
Mrs. Mercotan and I just had a lovely soak in the outdoor hot tub, with the snow falling heavy, but not quite heavy enough to muffle completely the sound of the waves.
I’m so glad I stayed home today!
