KFC has been running this really fucking annoying ad on TV, and maybe I am just too dumb for their target demographics but I am still having trouble understanding what the hell the ad is about. I can’t find it online but it consists almost entirely of the phrase “this is that?” “that is this!” with two guys pointing identical pieces of chicken at each other.
Are they surprised there’s more than one set of chicken in existence?
I don’t recall the ad in question but yeah, KFC’s marketing team seems to… well, do they seem to do anything? Every one of their ads seem so bottom of the barrel, uninspired, just sort of cobbled together.
Not that I’m saying every ad in existence has to be a masterpiece - all they have to do is stick in your mind. After all, that is why those “guy-yelling-loudly-as-things-flash-on-your-screen-limited-time-offer-60%-off-80%-off-supersale!!” ads are still around. But with KFC, it’s always two-thirds WFT was that shit, followed by “Everyone in the family will love our bucket of deep fried crap!”
Sod off. You used to be pretty cool, what happened? The Mods don’t moderate, posters ignore the rules, and there are cat threads in the Pit. What else could go wrong?
To give you an honest answer: yes, it is a stretch, quite often, to decide where to put a thread. There’ve been quite a few times when I’ve been stymied over whether to put something in the Pit or in MPSIMS. Since the best guideline we’ve been given is, “If you think something will engender supportive, positive responses, put it in MPSIMS, and if you think it will engender argument or flames or naughty words, put it in the Pit,” this fora decision in particular can be a difficult choice to make. At least, I don’t have a MindReader2000 that lets me predict whether people will post with further more embittered diatribes or kitty pics. That’s why things sometimes have to be moved, and the mods have told us time and time again that posting in the thread doesn’t get their attention like reporting a thread.
And, for the record, I reported the thread for you just after I replied to you, and so you can start the legitimate clockwatching from there, if you like. But it’s just possible that your hijack itself has caused the thread to be appropriately placed now.
Seriously now, why should it take “reporting posts” and/or two days to remove posts like " I Pit my Cat"? You don’t even have to read it to know that it’s in the wrong forum. Also, shouldn’ t long term members be held at least somewhat accountable for following the rules? There are Zombie threads, why is so and so banned threads, and MPSIMS threads in the Pit on an almost daily basis.
