Mildly disappointingly, no one at the farmers market had collard greens today. There’s one vendor that usually has them. I had to swing by the grocery store on the way home to pick some up.

Saw a band playing at my friend’s bar. I had the grilled cheese and macaroni salad, my gf had a burger and potato salad. Lots of beer to drink.
The sarma were good, and Mr. brown gave them a thumbs up. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that citrus juice and me do not agree, and I spent the night with Pepcid. All that lemon juice in the cooking broth is still bugging me a bit this morning.
So Mr. brown will get all the leftovers.
Leftover BBQ brisket and some scratch mac & cheese.

I grilled some nice tuna steaks, searing them and serving them rare with a pineapple habanero glaze. Parsley potatoes as a side. Pinot Grigio to drink.
Huh? This year’s Oktoberfest* runs from September 16 - October 3.
*As in the big one in Munich. I guess there are smaller local events that are just the first weekend in October.
Lunch today was a humble frozen fried chicken TV dinner, but the brownie that came with it made a very nice dessert. The trick was to put the brownie in a bowl, add three scoops of Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, and drizzle it all with four-leaf sweet balsamic vinegar. A dessert fit for the finest restaurant!

I bought a few beautiful eggplants (traditional, not Chinese) from the farm market. I challenged my gf to make something different (we always stuff eggplant and bake it).
She made Szechuan Eggplant, which was awesome!
I drank “lemon drops” which is what I call equal volumes of lemon juice and vodka over ice. She drank Pinot Grigio.
Delivered last night by a local pizzeria: a personal deep-dish meatlover’s pizza and a Caesar salad, with cold water (no ice, alas) to drink.
Chicken & Vegetable spring rolls and a side of home-made coleslaw. And a pour of Wild Turkey.

I expected my gf would be late for dinner, and had a few ideas on what I’d be making us. Then at 9:00 I got a text apology; turns out she stopped at her mom’s place to drop off paperwork and ended up eating with her.
So, cannabis (Cresco Mint Face-off), vodka (Nikolai), a couple cans of Dale’s Pale Ale, and then an egg, goat Gouda, tomato, and salsa sandwich on some horrid low carb bread product.
It was actually delicious.
A cup of crab bisque, a piece of tender Faroe Island salmon on creamy couscous with chopped spinach, with a glass of ice water, and later some coffee with sugar.
