I had the most delicious banana and mayonnaise sandwich. I don’t know why I stopped eating them.
I feel a binge coming. I’ll eat it every day for three days and then never again for years.

Decided to treat SWMBO tonight so we went for dinner out, which was all appetizers and a massive sodium bomb but I don’t care.
French onion soup au gratinee for me, bacon wrapped scallops sauteed in whisky butter and brandy, and chicken chili gyoza to share. A Tanqueray martini for an aperitif and a glass of Pinot Gris with dinner. SWMBO had a glass of shiraz and an After 8 martini for afters. We split a Bailey’s creme brulee. Decadent and delicious.
A home-grilled cheddar cheeseburger with lettuce and A-1 Sauce, french fries with ketchup, two small kosher dill pickles, and a glass of ice water. For afters, some dark molasses-style crunchy candy from India, the name of which I don’t even know (a gift from my niece, whose husband is Indian) and a glass of milk.
Radiatore with alfredo sauce, to which I added sauteed mushrooms and some rotisserie chicken. Served that with a tossed salad with fresh tomatoes from the garden. I didn’t feel like making garlic bread (we’ve already had some like 4 times in the last week) so I just sliced the last of the mustard cheddar that was still in the fridge and put it on some Triscuits. Milk tart for dessert.
Grilled chicken in white rice with teriyaki sauce, and a glass of ice water. Later, more fresh raspberries from our backyard with vanilla ice cream.
Another classics night - strip steak again, with spinach souffle, tossed salad and cheddar bay biscuits. Followed it up with a mocha chocolate mousse bar and a glass of port.
Made the pickerel fry I mentioned in the fish sandwich thread. O-M-G. The balance of flavour is incredible and the hot honey and kale salad went perfectly with it. Had a glass of Masi Campofiorin Red and ice water. Dessert was pistachio loukum (Turkish Delight). Delightful start to finish.
The potato flake pickerel looks great! Thanks for the link to the recipe. I think I’m going to try it sometime. I might cook up a batch of fries and do a variation of fish and chips.
Just finished a 4 day road trip to Flagstaff and back with my daughter. Found a good brewpub in Albuquerque with a good pizza joint attached that was all made out of shipping containers. In Flagstaff we found another decent brew pub and I had a char sui pork burger. The rest of the road trip food was all meh.
Today is Sunday so Asado time at ours and the usual chunks of cow getting grilled and Malbec getting drunk and family arriving . Mrs Mollusc made bread pudding for dessert.
Grilled salmon, couscous with teriyaki sauce, and ice water. Later, dark chocolate almond bark with a glass of milk.
Deli sliced ham sliders.
Last night was a stew made with leftovers from the cow fest. Tonight spaghetti bolognese, I need to get off my arse and exercise first if I am going to get a glass of Malbec to accompany that.
Last night spaghettini with homemade passatta with tomatoes off the vine, basil and garden oregano and thyme. Tonight was Domino’s Brooklyn pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni.
Tomorrow, Oh tomorrow is beer butt chicken slow smoked with homemade BBQ rub and roasted baby potatoes and green salad with garden butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes and cheddar cheese cubes with Ranch or Avocado Goddess dressing.
Jerk chicken sandwich on a bun and French fries with a sparkling peach cider.
Chanterelles, Turkey sausage, tomatoes, etc cooked into a sauce then tortellini mixed in. No name for it, my gf just playing in the kitchen.
Vodka and ice to drink.
Hummus sliders with sour cream dip, grilled cheese sammich with bacon, tater tots, a glass of Truth IPA and a glass of ice water. Later, Girl Scout Samoa cookies (coconut and chocolate) and a glass of milk.
Sliced up some Turkey Breast tenderloins, breaded and air fried them. Served with corn on the cob and sliced wheels of zucchini with a guacamole dip. Pinot Noir to drink. Truly Alcoholic Lemonade freeze pops for dessert.
The other half of my jerk chicken sandwich from yesterday, coleslaw with Asian peanut sauce, and a glass of pinot grigio.
Chicken parmesan, spaghetti with red sauce, garlic toast, Merlot and a glass of ice water. Later, what was probably the last of our backyard raspberries for the summer, and some vanilla ice cream.
