What's your longest thread?

My longest single thread was “World of Warcraft questions”, which topped out at 1,416 posts. We shut it down and started a new one because the post-count had gotten so high, and we thought it was “intimidating” for new readers. The joke was on us, because the “sequel” thread:

World of Warcraft General Discussion” (started by jayjay) reached 12,018 posts before we locked it and segued into:

New WoW General Discussion Thread 6/8/10” (started by gnoitall): 11,727 posts

which was itself replaced by the current thread:

MoP-ing up after the Cataclysm: Updated WoW General Discussion 8/22/12” (started by JayRx1981): “only” 1,053 posts, and still going.

Since all four threads have effectively been one ongoing discussion, I suppose you could say I’m responsible for prompting 26,214 posts on the same topic

I amuse myself from time to time by going back and reading through the first few pages of the first thread to remind myself just what noob I was when I started the thread.

American SDMB Conservatives: Go Reclaim Your Party!

not particularly impressive at 178 posts.

A Cafe Society thread about Great Female Villains got 113 replies.

Not counting the 2 or 3 times I started the MMP -
My “Why is country music so widely disliked?” thread probably has the most replies of any of my threads. Though the penis in the toaster thread did go on for 2 pages.

Obvious things about a creative work you realize after the millionth time.

Started on 07-24-2009, 1707 replies (to date), and as someone posted “This thread has more lives than Jason.”

I started the Free Association thread kind of as a joke.

I figured it would last for about 28 posts and die off but apparently people like things that are free.

This one about calling the cops on your child had very divided opinions. 242 posts.

I didn’t note the number of replies but it went on for a few days, something about Uses for Duct Tape. Man, there were some amazing posts! I enjoyed it.

Too lazy to look it up, but I had an "ugly saggin’ pants " thread several years ago, I think it went 8 or 9 pages? Maybe more, but that’s the longest one I can remember the basic gist of. There was one, (and DAMN you old age memory), that was on something completely random and (I woulda thought) uninteresting and mundane, that for some reason carried on into the double digits. ISTR some of the comments even being along the lines of “I expected this thread to sink like a stone, yet here it is on page 12”.

SDMB RPG: The Rule of Three - Game Thread - 614 replies

Your joke keeps going, and I’ve certainly enjoyed it. I’ve made a few contributions to it.

Thanks, RaftPeople!

I’m beyond boggled that the thread I started on March 26, 2009, Stupid Republican idea of the Day, is still going strong, with (as of my look just now) 12,197 Replies and 1,030,471 Views. I have the maximum number of posts per page set and it’s still up to 61 pages. I’m not even the one keeping it alive since my last post was in July. Amazing.

Otherwise most of my thread is the regular 250 yards length.

What?

This one http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=482118&highlight=dead&page=1 (“Ask the Guy Who is Pretty good at SF story identification” went for 264 posts, which was pretty successful.

Survivor: Palau 3/16 (Wednesday) (that’s TONIGHT): 92 replies

actually it’s more of a yarn. my scarf.

I’m happy to saythis one is still on the first page after 2,355 replies.

It happens to be 10 times longer than the next most popular thread I started, which happened to be an earlier version of the same thing that ran out of gas.
