When no one wants to start the MMP.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today Watching the [del]Force India Demolition Derby[/del]Italian Grand Prix.

Moooommmmm!, I find the Christmas tree bit the most disturbing.

The Christmas tree was more confusing than disturbing to me…

I’m all showered and dressed and ready to head to breakfast. YUM!

Sadly, my guess is that it’s something you saw in a store this week; especially since Halloween candy has been in the local supper market for 4 weeks now. :dubious:
Radar shows rain has moved out, though it’s only 61° out now. Dat’s cold for dis time of year. Having something to eat & then off to meet the run club.

High of 59F today, and rain all day. Huzzah. I can’t decide whether to go back to bed or to actually do my errands. Blurf.

Did I mention blurf?

But I’m up and mostly fed and caffeinated. Need purtification but don’t think it’ll help much. I feel as brilliant as wet toast.

BLERF. Dark, dank and foggy, courtesy of the remains of Harvey.

Saw my dad and sister yesterday. We celebrated my birthday a few days early. We ordered from the Lebanese/Syrian place and then I ate too much cake.

Moooom, the bag with the laptop, bathrobe and yarn sounds like packing for a trip to the horsepistol.

I got up at 5:45 to take Nelson out, then came in and went back to bed for a couple of more hours. Later, I’ll make some stuffed mushrooms to take to the Labor Day party this evening. Other than that, I foresee a lot of fetch-the-froggy today.

Well, I figured out the Christmas tree part. Cracker Barrel is all decked out with trees and ornaments and tinsel and other Christmas crap. Their Thanskgiving and Halloween displays, which have been up a couple of months, are now consigned to 2 small display areas. Ho ho freekin’ ho. :stuck_out_tongue:

Part 1 of readying for FCD’s machines is done - we moved a bunch of aluminum sheets from outside to inside and cleared the area in front of the basement door. Part 2 is moving all the firewood around the corner of the house, which will involve some raking, among other things. I’m going to change into shorts and a grubby t-shirt for that evolution. It’ll be a sweaty one.

Plantage shall occur tomorrow.

But the sun is shining, so there’s that.

I am waiting for some laundry to finish, then it’s a quick packing job and off for a two day trip to the mountains. For some reason, this kept me filled with anxiety all night and when I did sleep I also had very strange dreams. They are fading, but there was something about color coding everything and jamming large objects into small jars.

Ice maker/water dispenser on the fridge is broken. I am valiantly living without (I don’t use it much anyway) but some folks around here are certain the end times are near. I will have to find a repair person when we return. :stuck_out_tongue:

Pepper pup and Kona dog have developed some interesting games. She brings him a toy and taunts him with it until he tries to grab it, and then they play keep away.

More coffee and stuff to do. Happy Sunday everyone.

Break time! We’ve moved one of the stacks of firewood, uncovering the rack it was loaded into. After we’ve rested, we’ll move that rack in front of the pile we just piled, and move the rest of the wood. Then the smaller wood rack will eventually go under the porch so **FCD **can use it in the basement when he’s working down there.

So far, we’ve uncovered 2 snakes (one was tiny) and some large, brown, ugly spiders - I’m pretty sure they’re wolf spiders. My legs have been munched upon by something - probably skeeters. There was also what looks like a mouse’s nest among the logs. Oh, and I tore up part of my left wrist on a log. Bloody mess, literally.

It’s about 73° and I’m soaked in sweat. Getting old sucketh mightily!!!

Hospital cafeteria pie? You must be desperate!

What does it mean, “Weebl and Bob”?

Work clothes are laundered, kitchen is cleaned, and Gordie is violently warning the neighbors about the menace of The Invisible Mole People. I might take a nap.

Flytrap, Weebl and Bob. And pie.

Mooooommm!, you’re gonna need to take a sick day to recover from your holiday.

We’ve finished moving the almost full cord of hardwood. It’s stacked, covered, and ready for winter. And with a little more raking, there will be plenty of room for FCD’s machines to be delivered.

Time to shower and find something to eat. It’s been a long time since breakfast and I’s hongree!!!

Damned subversive. :dubious:

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, brunched, came back to da cave, and achieved nappage. I also helped my neighbor unload a table and two chairs she bought for her breakfast area in her kitchen. Thus I have also accomplished a good deed.

Funny, I’m in Sacramento and seeing gas prices moving briskly upward.

Chill-out day here, at least for me. DH is doing an online class for irk (hey, completing it will get him a $1/hr raise).

We went to the Olde Towne Pub in Leonardtown for a late lunch. Now we’re home to waste the rest of the day in chillage. I plan to assume the afghaning position in a little bit.

Good times, good times!

JDD and Sis talked with their mom today about the possibility of movin’ in with a lady she knows. She seems to not be sure if she wants to move, which is her right. However, there’s no guarantee that whoever moves in the room with her is someone she will get along with or not. The nature of semi-private rooms. Also, this room has a private bathroom (sink and toilet) and most of the rooms, unless private, have a shared bathroom with another room. OK, they were also told that a husband and wife wanted the room as they are currently in separate rooms. Turns out, however, their daughters don’t want them to room together. The wife has AD and the husband has a history of treatin’ her mean, yellin’ at her and such. Thus the reason for the separate rooms to begin with. JDD and Sis let it be known that whatever Miss Becky wants will be what is done and pretty much told the nursin’ home Administrator and Social Worker that this other family’s problems are their problems and they have no desire to know or deal with whatever problems they have. Good on them! JDD and Sis would like it if Miss Becky moved into the room with the lady she knows who is a nice person and somebody Miss Becky and they like.

All this makes me think, would there be an audience for a teevee based nursin’ home drama?

Gordie barked himself into unconsciousness. Making herbed poke chops with baked **N.O.T.**s and green beans with garlic and oregano.

if the BBC did it, and Helen Mirren was the lead actress.
