When no one wants to start the MMP.

Awake but not up nor shelveled. I have a half day today to irk. Dammit.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 86 mostly N.O.S. and no chance of rain. We shall see. Plans are for an afternoon of quality time at the cee-mint pond followed by a feast of ribs, N.O.T. sallit, slaw, baked beans, garlic bread and chawklit cake with ice cream. YUM!

Anybody who is travelin’ be safe out there. Gas seems to be hoverin’ around $2.47/gal but subject to risin’ no doubt.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I suppose I should purtify. Ima go fill up two big ice chests so there’s ice for those who want ice for beverages and also ice to ice down beer and/or soft drinks. At some point this afternoon I shall place the ribs in my big slow cooker to warm up. YUM!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Afternoon all. {{All who want one}}

Move fully accomplished, bees relocated with only a few hours of chaos and two stings, most of the boring address changing and new place setup done.

I’ve not got internet at home yet though, which is feeling very odd, entertaining myself old school like. Luckily, the liberry is only 5 minutes walk away. In fact, I seem to have all the necessities within walking distance, which is quite handy. I was expecting much more inconvenience, given the size of the place.

Just curious, did anyone sit on them for the drive down?
The remnants of Harvey are coming in a bit; but should be less than an inch total between today & tomorrer. Heading out to get some/most/all of my mileage in now before the intermittent precip starts. Then final touches on latest video & start (finish?) another. I’ve got so many in the hopper it isn’t funny.

Nuts congrats on the successful move. Good luck with skool! I know you are excited.

Irking or at irk at least. We are anxiously keeping an eye on Hurricane Irma. It’s a bad one and it looks like it may curve up before it hits Florida which means Doogioooo my need to watch it as well.

Otherwise just another day. Come on one o’clock.

Blurf!

Up, caffeinating and have a load of towels in the wash. Time to remake the bed and do the breakfast dishes before cleaning the puppy crate.

Ugh. 76F already, at not quite 8:30am. Accuweather says today’s high will be 106, TWC thinks 110. I’m not sure 4 degrees matters when you’re in the “too damn hot” range.

Yesterday hit 109.

A lovely day in no. Ilinois. Sunny, low 70s, no hoomidity. Going to a cookout later. I made a homemade from scratch pineapple upside down cake. I’ve had a gnawing and a craving for one for a few weeks.

We’re about to head out to the cee-mint pond. The weather is sunny but not too hawt so it will feel good. I made a corn casserole for brunch Sunday over to the church house tomorrow. That and the ribs I have set aside to take sound good together at least to me.

Laterz!

High 101 today. Blurf.

Today I shall do laundry. And take a nap. I’ve got the nap all planned out.

We are home from the race and a mediocre breakfast. After a nice hot bath it will be time for a nap.

I’m glad your move is going well, Nut.

Hi, honeys, I’m home!!! Didja miss me?

We woke early and headed out early with a brief stop at BK for a croissanwich before heading north. Got to Mom’s before 10, and **FCD **replaced her fan. The old one had a CAST IRON BODY!!! It was an ooooooollllllldddddddd school ceiling fan. She bought a cheapie replacement that’s rather noisy, but she doesn’t care. And really she doesn’t use it all that often.

Then she and I went out and dug up a bunch of plants for me - liriope (solid and variegated), black-eyed susans, and a lily, plus something she didn’t know what it is, but it’s pretty, so I took it. The trunk of the car is gross, but when it dries, I’ll vacuum up the dirt and all will be fine.

I also got a box of dirt - she has the best dirt up there! I’ll use it to augment the horrid soil down here when I plant everything. I’m hoping to get it all in the ground tomorrow, but we shall see.

It started raining as we were finishing up with the plants, and once we cleaned up, it was time for lunch. Then after we ate and chatted a while, we loaded the car and drove home thru remnants of Harvey. We may still get some more rain tonight, but tomorrow’s supposed to be nice.

**FCD **went to a store near my mom’s and got some tooling for his shop - he’s a happy puppy! So is Higgs - she’s glad to be home.

The rest of today is for chillage. Whew…

A good time was had by all around the cee-mint pond followed by a large and tasty late N.O.L./early dindin. Everyone is gone and the dishwasher is doin’ its thing. As I always say, I love company both comin’ and goin’.

MOOOOOOM glad y’all had a good time.

Well? Howdja do?

I’m glad I decided not to race tomorrow morning; it’s s’posed to rain thru the night & into the morning, which means the trail will be sloppy. It’s also going to be freezonious over night (into the mid 50°s…this early in Sept???)
Hey Swampy & MetalMouse, want a P/T retirement job? The only downside is you gotta be in Dayton [del]OhNo[/del] Ohio. On the plus side, you get to perform in front of crowds & wear cool outfits.
Okay, back into the salt mines of video editing w/ me. :frowning:

I had to put on a sweatshirt - it’s quite chilly here. Mostly it’s so damp, it just creeps to the bone. Supposed to have sun tomorrow, and with luck, I’ll get my planting done in short order.

Worked. We threw out some guy trying to shoplift(Hey Moriarty, it’s less conspicuous if you don’t walk into a store with a giant open backpack:rolleyes:) Wolfpack blew the game. Nothing like spotting the other team 21 points. : headdesk :

Congrats, sticky!

I can’t really remember the last time I found gas as cheap as $2.69. I paid $2.79 at the cheap gas place yesterday. Supposedly the price of our special California gas is supposed to be unbothered by goings-on in Texas as no Texas refineries make our gas.

Saw my EP yesterday. Think we spent more time chatting about the hospital’s icky new logo than we did about my heart. Think that’s good. Back when DH was a regular there, I called the place Coffeebean Hospital. Not sure what those three coffee beans were really supposed to be, but now, well, I can see the J and the M but really not wild about the purple, and what’s with the downward pointing arrow? It’s not a good subliminal message. This page has both versions.

Weather here has been miserable. 106 in San Francisco yesterday broke the all-time, any day record. People as a whole are getting cranky. Power went out at my house at least twice today, long enough for all UPS backups to run down, so I got a full-house reboot.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 71 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. The big plan is deheathenization followed by first Sunday brunch. Afterward, chillage shall ensue.

gotti coffee beans? Burgers? Pacmen? Weebl and Bob?

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. I must also warm up the corn casserole in the nucelator and put it in the warmer bag thingy as well as get a small slow cooker so the ribs can warm up whilst we deheathenize.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

It was the night of creepy dreams. <shudder>

First, I was at work, just goofing off, reading the Dope and such, not doing any work, sleeping at my desk, suddenly waking up worried that I might get fired! It was disturbing.

Then I was in a car with the 23-y/o kid who shares my office. He drove us to what looked like a wreck of a house, and my first thought was that he wanted to buy a fixer-upper. Then he tried to kiss me! Then he started getting handsy! I kept telling him to knock it off and I was about to hit him with “I’m old enough to be your grandmother” when we were suddenly inside some building.

There a woman was putting up Christmas tree-like object for some sort of charity drive, and I was trying to cram my tote bag with a laptop, a bunch of yarn, and my bathrobe <???> At that point, my coworker walked into the room stark nekkid. And I woke up.

Disturbing. With luck, it will fade from my memory before I go into the office on Tuesday. I’m pretty sure this isn’t the sort of thing I should share with him. ick.

Plans for the day: When **FCD **gets up, we’re going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I’m hoping when we get back, the weather will permit plantage for an hour or so. If not, that will happen tomorrow. Somewhere along the weekend, we need to move one big stack of firewood so FCD’s new machines can be moved into the basement later this week. Then we get to move the firewood back. Anybody wanna come over and move firewood?? It’s fun!! No, really!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

We shall see how the days go. For now, Happy Sunday!!
