When no one wants to start the MMP.

With the Mission Impossible theme playing in the background?

just watch out for the ones in black hoods that’s rolling a guillotine while carrying medieval axes …

Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. Today is my Firday.

Yay!

**roadrunner **- what kind of music lessons?

Well, gas prices have shot up 30-40¢ hereabouts and I’m thinking it’s not *all *about Harvey I’m also pretty sure that once the refineries are running as usual, the prices won’t fall nearly as fast.

But it’s my Firday ahead of what will be a 4-day weekend, so huzzah! I got some ribs yesterday and I’ll be smoking them tomorrow. Sat, we’re going to my mom’s, Sun and Mon at home, futzing in the yard and generally chilling, I hope. But I’ve got to get thru today first.

Hope I can stay awake - I woke at least 3 times last night, dammit.

blah blah blah happy Thursday. :p:p:p:p:p

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. I need to go lay in provisions since I didn’t yestiddy. I have ribs thawed that I shall rub down and let set in the fridge today and tonight. Tomorrow they shall be smoked. Plannin’ on a little Labor Day soiree around the cee-mint pond Sattidy. We shall provide ribs, slaw, and garlic bread. Baked beans, N.O.T. sallit, dessert (chawklit cake I’m told), and munchies will be provided by others. It’s a bring your own adult beverage if you desire thing and non-adult beverages will be provided. Should be fun.

roadrunner piano? guitar? drums? kazoo?

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and go to the sto’. ICK!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Swampy, sounds like a very good bit of funeralising, and such a nice touch to do a little service for Miss Becky too.

midget - congrats on successful cystobotomy…do you feel lighter-headed now?

I am having a bit of a numb week now - I found out on Tuesday that a friend had passed away. He had a heart attack early on Tuesday morning and died shortly afterwards, it was completely unexpected and a shock to all of us that knew him. He was a big music fan so it has reverberated through all of the band fan groups that we belong to and there are still people who simply can’t believe he’s gone. The worst part is that he only got married last October, his second wife lost her first husband five years ago on Monday and then lost him on Tuesday. I honestly can’t imagine how she must be feeling with all that to deal with.

Makes you stop and take a breath, dunnit?

I recall a Johnny Carson monologue from 1973, “When the price gets to be a dollar a gallon, I think there will be lots of gasoline.”

Up and about my life of joy and happiness. And then at 1:30 I’ll head for work and stop all that crap.

I play the flute. I played for several years and then stopped when life got too busy, but I always loved it, so I’m getting back into it. I’m really rusty, so I think so lessons will help me regain some lost skill more quickly.

I’m really sorry for the loss of your friend. :frowning: I’ve noticed in the past few years I’ve reached an age where people that I know are dying. It really does make you examine your own mortality and take stock of you life. It is one of the reasons I started playing flute again. Stop waiting, start doing, right?

{{{Boo Fae}}}

Heading out to cancel phone service from my current provider. Need to keep the internet for awhile, it turns out using the same e-mail for 14 years does tend to pile up stuff that references it.

Fed and more or less rested. All y’all have a good Thorsday.

My head is kind of ouchy. I know that this can happen when the anesthetic wears off, but it’s kind of annoying. Oh well.

I still have to be careful not to get my stitches wet.

It seems sunny out today, so I may be able to go out.

And another one bite the dust. I wonder how many mice are living under my house.:confused:
This is getting tedious.

Ruble, “used bacon”?

I keep getting a massage that my connection is not secure.
What are you people up to out there?

What did you expect, with all those darn mice?

BLURFAGE Back at it today. Getting a head start on end of month.

My friend in Texas was very upset that her fishes in her pond were gone and her indoor aquarium was wrecked too. She does have flood insurance. Her cars were gone too. It is so sad.
So much for my three day weekend. I just don’t feel like my new girls are ready to be left alone yet so I shall irk a half day on Sat. Since I live an hour away it’s not like I can just jump in the car and be here so in order to not be worried I will just be here. Ms. Judy is still sick and I think she is taking off tomorrow to try to see the Dr. What ever it is we have is tenacious and hangs on a long time.

Back from a going-away lunch. I got the over-priced salad/pizza bar - not at all impressed. Oh well.

Three more hours and I can go home and commence my long weekend. Plans for tonight - put rub on the ribs that will be smoked tomorrow. Yum!

Howdy Y’all! I procured provisions, got the ribs rubbed down, washed and dried a load of laundry and even have dindin figured out. Go Me! I bought a rotissed chikin which will get heated up. Sides shall be peas 'n carrots, scalloped N.O.T. (homemade even!) and rolls. Should be a quick, easy, and good dindin.

{{{BooFae}}} so sorry about your friend!

It has been rainy all day. I read that Eastern Arkansas got some serious rain as Harvey pool balled off Louisiana and headed North East.

My work day/week is almost over. My brain is fried. I’m ready for some serious chillage…

We’re in the early stages of what’s planned to be the mother of all heat waves in the Bay Area with temps reaching 115 inland, which is just insane for here as well as just plain dangerous. So I thought a ceiling fan would be useful in my office so I can upgrade it from being an oven to a convection oven.

Sadly, the wiring box in the ceiling isn’t safely up to the task of holding a 25 pound spinning guillotine over my head, so fannage is on hold while I wait for the right kind of box to be back in stock.

At least I’ll be at my EP’s office tomorrow afternoon for a visit and able to enjoy their air conditioning for half an hour or so. Not looking forward to the part about his office being in an inland area. Hopefully I don’t self-ignite in that heat.
