Where’s the new MMP. Wake up Mumpers MMP

Afternoon all. Shopping has been completed (Bananas, tomatoes, bread, milk and salad bag) and Jersey Mike’s #3 is about 3 bites away from completion (make that 2). Probably will remain about the house the rest of the day, might even do some house cleaning…or not.

Nut, think we all had classes like that somewhere in our education. Bet you get an A in it anyway.

OK, on into the afternoon. Take care all.

Yay!

Me too! I miss Pixel all the time. I know losing the another pet will be hard, but I know it will be worth it. They bring so much to my life.

A cat story, since GG and The Paw have reminded me of one: many years ago, we had a black cat named Merlin. When we had company and put appetizers out on the coffee table, Merlin perfected the art of hiding under the table and sticking just his paw up and over the edge to see what he could snag. He’s pull it down, inspect it for food, and run off with any goodies. He was a good cat.

Today’s plans include continuing to binge Freud, which is one of the weirdest shows that I have ever seen and that’s saying something.

Stay warm and safe everyone.

Morning, all. We’re making a bit of headway on our early prep for decamping from Portland. I sold my biscuit cutter a few days ago, and yesterday sold a telescoping ladder to an older gent who drove all the way up here from Tillamook to get it. Turns out that at age 83 he’s building out a van into an RV and needs the ladder to get up to his solar panels! An ambitious project at any age. Got into an email argument with a guy who was looking to buy my power planer. He was crying about the price because he’d have to drive 30 miles to get it. I suggested that he just go ahead and buy the same model from Amazon for $120 more. Sheesh. I’m really hoping that Grand Ronde comes through and takes all of those Native American books off our hands.

I’m taking the Mazda in to get a roof rack put on this week, as we will need to put a rooftop carrier on it when we leave town. Our realtor is coming over later in the week to help us with house prep. It’s way early, but we need to get a handle on what needs to be done.

Have a good week, all.

Why did I think you were in CT?? Who the heck is in CT?

Sitting in the car outside the Dr office. Did I mention my daughter’s heat went out? She’s waiting for a repair guy this afternoon. Not a good day to lose heat. I told her to bake something to help warm the house.

Such excitement.

Not the faintest chance, I’m afraid (for a start, we don’t do letter grades :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I’d be OK with anything over a pass in this one. I’m working on the principle that the only thing anyone is likely to care at all about is- maybe- the major project and overall average, and the module is something like 8% of the overall score. I’ve seen job ads with a minimum BSc grade, but for Masters, it’s kinda binary.

The supermarket and chip shop were both really really quiet- they’re usually heaving at that time. Been like that all day, per the checkout lady. Wonder why?

Nelson thanks you (his tail is wagging) for all of the compliments.

VanGo, a few months and another pupper will help heal your broken heart. Hugs.

unknown, George is still lighter than Nelson, but likely not for long. :stuck_out_tongue: My dad has a walker like the one that you describe. He likes it for when he can’t take his scooter somewhere.

Yay on the foot butters! I hope that it continues to improve.

The roads were pretty clear this morning when I went to the doctor. However, the office was closed. Evidently, they didn’t do a very good job notifying folks, as there were several others who showed up when I did. Doc did call me five minutes after my appointment was to begin to tell me that he would email my prescriptions in and to reschedule. Oy!

Meanwhile, I’ve been reorganizing the studio and am almost done. There’s a little reddish dog on my lap though who may wake up if I move.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Hubs is very entertaining when our intarwebz goes out. Watching him is more fun than reading one of my books

Good news on the BIL front. Being taken off the vent is always good news! I hope he continues to improve.

Butters, Waking up pain free gets a little scary sometimes. I always hurt, so waking up without hurting is so rare that I always wonder if I’m dead.

Here’s hoping the meds work and Ophie starts feeling better.

But you will have 14 wonderful years first. Do you have a breed in mind or are you just going to follow your heart?

Merlin sounds like quite the smart guy, I’ll bet your guests loved seeing his version of The Paw!

It is NEVER to early to start prepping for a move, good on you for starting sooner rather than later. Good luck that all goes well.

It sounds like you are done now. A household rule here is that whoever has a cat on the lap gets waited on by the catless one because of course we can’t risk disturbing the critter.

Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday as far as doing nothing is concerned. Hubs is at the chiropractor now, I’ve unloaded the dishwasher and tended to the yard flock. I have a list of calls I need to make today and am doing just a little more procrastinating before dealing with them

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the holiday everyone who gets it.

Martin Luther King celebrations. Americans tend to ignore it so Brits are trying to be more enlightened and authentically civilized.

Well it’s nap time so I can stay up late to watch the football game.

Going stir crazy. I do have a dentist appt tomorrow for cleaning. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been and I don’t want to hear any lecturing. I will tell them too. My neighbor is gonna drive me since it’s my right foot that is fubar and I can’t feel the peddles with it in the boot… It’s on the same island so it’s a five minute drive there and back.

Nap.

This reminded me that I needed to bake the meatloaf I thawed yesterday. It’s in the oven now. Yum.

Daughter has heat - it was a fried transformer and only set them back $200. That’s a big Whew on several levels.

FCD has had the zip ties removed and he’s cleared to swim laps or whatever in the pool. He’s also cleared to drive… oh dear… :zipper_mouth_face: Could mean trouble! He’s napping now and I’m sharing the recliner with Taz. So my day is winding down, gradually.

I see a trip to look at a boat in your very near future.

Why am I weirdly insulted by being accused of being from Connecticut? I’m originally from Maine, and am a proud New Englander. Maybe cuz CT is barely New England, there’re too many Yankee fans there.

Ugh, and I just sneezed my way into a bloody nose.

Happy Moanday! And a solemn and grateful MLK Day to all.

I had my first PT appointment today. The therapist said pushing through the pain to work out was good, so yay me! But then he said “As long as you don’t push into serious pain.” Um, I am bad at drawing that line. And I seem to go from very little pain (lying down) to Holy frick I could scream. No in between. "Also, he said all the activity I’ve been doing is terrific. But if that’s the case, why am I in so much pain? Nonetheless, I’m hopeful.

And a rant: as I said, my sister is on oxycodone for knee replacement pain. She loathes it and can’t wait to get off. However, she tried cutting the dose yesterday, and the pain went up to an 8-9. They gave her 42 tabs last Wednesday. She takes 1 every 4 hours. Waiting 6 hours means 2 hours of level 8-9 pain. She will run out of meds tomorrow. By law, she can’t get a refill until Wednesday. So she’s basically SOL. She sees the doc on Thursday.

Butters, Buddy must be a VERY good boy that you can take him out even in a walking boot. I mean, some dogs pull on the leash and such, but not Buddy. Also, you’re past due for some really good stuff to happen for you. My fingers are crossed!

Swampy, Happy Last Week of Junior Warden-ing. The halo, however, is permanent.

FCM, what great news about your BIL! Also, glad intrawebz and your daughter’s heat are both functioning again.

And P=TP, for us women, anyway.

I’m so glad. Some puppy is going to be very lucky.

Dogs are wonderful at teaching us humans to live in the moment, and think of all the millions of moments in those 15 years.

cookie, is “biscuit cutter” slang for some big ladder or something? Or did you sell a round cookie-cutter? I have a feeling it’s the former, but I obviously need my ignorance fought.

red, that sucketh about the doctor’s office being closed. Maybe the absence of the person who does such things is why they had to close?

Yep, don’t get me started. Oops, too late. The Wyoming legislature refused to declare it a state holiday for a long while. One state legislator explained, “Wyoming hardly has any Black people.” :rage: (I assigned my students a short essay explaining how Dr. King’s work benefitted all Americans.) It was only because it was called "Martin Luther King/Equality Day that it was finally passed. Even then, my school district refused to give us the day off. Finally, teachers on the Calendar Committee succeeded in getting it off because we called it “January break.”

shoe, how the heck are ya?

Happy Moonday!

No park this morning.
It was still sleeting and I didn’t even bother getting out of bed.
I guess we got about 5 inches of snow. Nothing too terrible.

We’ve been to the park only once in the last three weeks.
I really need to get back out there.
Of course, I doubt anybody is going anyway.
M1 will be there if I go, but that is the person I’m mad at, so I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not.
M7 may show up later, but that is the other one I am mad at.
M2 is irking, M4A has a broken arm, I assume M4B is irking, M5 is irking, M6 might go if I go, and M8 is always questionable in bad weather.
For whatever reason, I made myself M3.
I think M2 has been trying to get with M1 to tell him to back off.

Trash was delayed for the weather.
Oh well, it can sit out there until tomorrow.

I managed to whittle down a foot high stack of mail into a three-inch stack of mail today.
Tomorrow I’ll file what needs to be filed and pay what needs to be paid.
Got some of the Christmas gifts put away, too.

I am so tired today.

Heh, I’m assuming cookie’s biscuit cutter is one of these. I’ve got one of those, and don’t really like it.

That makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking…

Evening all. Watching a long container train passing through Ft. Madison, Iowa on Virtual Railfan while finishing off a Deluxe Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Moanday is eat out day, the rest of the week I’ll be living off the refrigerator and such. Down to 34F now, but they are promising it’ll get over 50F tomorrow (we’ll see).

Sari, hope all the M’s settle down; they should take a lesson from their dogs and sniff each other’s butts…

nellie, hope the pain lessens for Sis; that’s nightmarish.

VanGo, I’ve done that before (bloody nose sneeze). Should dry up quickly.

FCM, glad the heat is back on at Daughter’s house. And keep and eye on FCD, he’s going to overdo it and get to hurting again (saying that as a fellow male who knows things).

Butters, the cleaning is OK, but don’t let them talk you into flossing (mine does every time).

Cookie, sounds like you’re moving stuff pretty well. Hope it’s worth the hassle.

OK, both train and hamburger have disappeared from sight. Some tackleball and some internettin’ will keep me amused until bedtime. All y’all take care.

Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. Actually been home for bout half an hour. I’ve been readin’ the many, many posts today. A good time was had by all. We had a good crowd and even though it was EYP’s last, the mood was good. I’m tahrd though and will consider bedtime shortly. OYKW is already upon the bed watchin’ teevee.

I read all but retention is next to nil, so, yays, boos, hugs, chitlins, trouts, noogies, and how you doin’s all around as needed.

I forgot to relate the Very Strange Thing that happened on my trip home. The lone flight attendant on the small jet from Louisiana to Dallas was doing the standard safety demo while the canned audio instructions played. He got to the part where he was demonstrating the oxygen mask, leaned over to me, and said, “I hope I never have to see one of these again.”

What do you think he meant? Was it his last day, and he was sick of the demo? Was he on flights where there were issues severe enough for O2 masks to drop?

Thank you! I have no idea what a joiner is, but at least I know not to look for a “biscuit cutter” at Williams Sonoma (not that I shop there).

I’mhavingg thucalef Oddl
^Either I need to replace the battery in my keyboard, or I’ve been possessed by Ragnar Lothbrok.

I’m having thumb cramps in my left hand. Oddly enough, holding a cold beer helps.
