Where the heck is my MMP?

the weather has been dreary - severely dreary. I dislike this part of spring - I want the kind of spring where you lay out blanket on the lawn and read a book by sunlight.
(not that I read books much, but that’s the kind of weather I like)
yes - the appointment is a good thing. Next week is the Installation Dinner, and then it’s time to get my hands dirty - and it only took 7 years of trying.

Third page! Okay sorry. I’m stalling about going to bed.

We have a kitchen sink again. Sorta. The new counters were installed today. Dad hooked up the drain for the sink, but not the water. But we’re almost there.

Fridays are half days for me. I’m thinking of having sushi for lunch tomorrow, even though it wasn’t that long since last time (I get a 20% coupon from the place I go).

Happy Firday, mumpers! Can we have a head-count just to make sure there’s not been any overnight murderin’ going on?

Bonus day off for me, apparently because there’s something happening in Lunnon to a bunch of people I neither know nor care about. But I get a day off so I’m happy enough, plus there’s a public holiday on Monday too so that’s a good long weekend coming up.

Today I will be cleaning the kitchen worktops and cupboard doors, vacuuming and possibly mopping floors. There’s weeding to do, should I feel the need to go outside, but I somehow don’t see that happening today - don’t want to exhaust myself when I’ve got a whole 4-day weekend to fill.

Tomorrow I have a couple of errands to do in town, in the evening we have a friend visiting so we’re planning on a pub and curry night. Sunday will be largely lazing around because Saturday will be a very late night. Monday I may do something productive, and I may not. Structure? Who needs it?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out, meanin’ we’ve had a cool down. The high is supposed to be only 82 degrees! There’ll be an ice berg floatin’ in the pool I tells ya!:smiley:

BooFae I’m here and not murdered. Reckon the weddin’ knot has been tied by now? I refuse to turn on the teevee cause I just know that’s the first thing I’ll see cause the teevee in the study is not tuned to the weather channel which would probably be tellin’ us what the royal weather is like in London anyways so it’s just as well.

Ok, off to seek more caffiene and some brekkie for rumbly tummy before irk purtification commences.

Happy Firday Y’all!

Good morning all! Happy FIRDAY!!!

I’ve seen a little bit of the wedding but not the dress yet; I’ll have to catch up on that later, and I’m sure there will be many chances to see it … I have my clearance physical for the cataract surgery on my remaining eye at 8 AM so need to get going soon. Hope everyone has a great day, and then a wonderful weekend.

Y’all reckon Simplicity will have a pattern for that dress soon? I can just picture all the summer weddings with Kate Middleton knock off dresses.

Howdy from irk. It’s quiet. May it so remain.

I watched it for a bit while I was getting ready. The dress was stunning! I saw them exchange vows, then a bunch of praying, some hymns, then walking down the aisle as man and wife and getting into the horse drawn carriage.

I had to leave for irk, so I missed **The Kiss **from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Happy Firday!

Swampy, I have so far managed to not watch any of it. I think it was over about an hour ago but for some strange reason the BBC is wasting my licence fee by showing “something” to do with it all afternoon.

Good job I have the Game of Thrones to watch instead.

So far today kitchen worktops and cupboards have been cleaned, food has been cooked and scoffed, washing up has been done and weeding has been completed. I may tidy the bookshelves in the hallway next, then I can take all the books I don’t plan on keeping to the charity shop tomorrow.

There’s still vacuuming and mopping to do but that should really wait until the cats are awake and on the prowl. It wouldn’t be fair to disturb them both when they’re having their afternoon snooze, right? No, of course it would not. So that means I have to find alternative entertainment for a few hours.

BooFae I didn’t watch either but I read the thread up hear in MPSIMS. I told ‘em readin’ their comments was just as if I were there!

Is there an equivalent of brainbleach for the eyes?

Normal bleach?

Pray tell BooFae, why do your eyes need to be bleached? [del]Nosy[/del] Enquirin’ Dopers wanna know!

Crazy morning of interviewing so I only just turned the TV on to see the dress don’t care about anything else but as a girly girl at heart I do like a pretty frock and I didn’t really like it. I liked to top part (lace and deep V) didn’t like the skirt part. Oh well not my wedding!

Back-to-back interviews from 7.30 until 10AM my time and I forgot to schedule a bathroom break. Man thought I was going to burst in the last couple of minutes there and was saying good bye/have a good weekend as I was running down the hallway!

Anyway…back to work! I am headed to Tulsa on Sunday again so only a one day weekend for me!

I survived the NC tornadoes yesterday. Had a couple touch down about 30 miles south and east of the old VunderLair while we were there. We stopped to say hi to Old Fred the Neighbor, and CindyTheFlake.

The house looks so sad, vacant. Good news is my agent says she’s showing it tomorrow. I’m praying for a quick sale…

Yay for tornado survival BBBobbio! Oz ain’t all it’s cracked up to be what with wicked witches, evil flyin’ monkeys and such.

Uh oh! OYKW does not look well. Not at all. I’m afeered he’s got that stomach bug thing that’s been goin’ around. Ginger ale and soup for him. Probably not gonna go up to ye olde homeplace with me tomorrow either. :frowning: JDD and partner have offered to play nurse for him while I’m gone. Provided I don’t wake up with it as well. I have him here at da cave cause there’s stuff like ginger ale, soup and crackers here but not at his place.

On the upside, I guess there’s no worries about dindin. Just thinkin’ about food makes him wanna hurl poor thing!

I forgot to say this earlier, but a minor miracle happened today!

VWife was all into The Wedding. I had to drag her carcass away from the boob tube in the hotel this morning to get on the road, and that was when [del]the doomed couple[/del]the royal pair were walking out to start their carriage procession.

I got her in the van, and she immediately found it on Sirius. I was having to endure running fashion commentary on Kate’s dress (where’s that puke smiley?) when the satellite radio signal just flat out quit.

It seems VWife bounced a check to Sirius for the subscription fee, and that was the point where they caught up with her. :smack: for her, and :D:D:D for me…

Congrats, BBBobbio!

Since the TV in the bedroom is our alarm clock, I was awakened with wedding stuff instead of headlines. Luckily, the weather channel was doing weather, which is really all I want from the TV in the morning anyway, so I was good.

I got the kiln loaded and started firing - with luck I can unload it tomorrow afternoon. Then I need to start making more stuff. And since the kiln and the dryer are on the same circuit, I can’t do laundry tonight - damn the luck.

Daughter’s not coming home till late and **FCD **hasn’t called to tell me when to expect him, so I’m on my own for supper. I’m thinking I’ll make beenie-weenie with my leftovers. It’s quick and easy and doesn’t require me to leave the house. Then I’ll assume the knit position and watch TV.

I had my mid-year assessment with the boss today - he loves me! Even tho I haven’t produced anything, I do what he calls “situational awareness” - getting familiar with whatever facilities are of interest to our customers and anticipating questions. Then when they ask, I can give quick answers. Go me!

He was also telling me some interesting stuff about the RIF and the commands involved in our reassignment. He implied that a bunch of admirals and generals with lots of stars on their shoulders kinda sorta screwed the pooch royally with regard to us. And apparently Congress and the Secretary of the Navy’s office is now involved. No way of knowing how or if it will change things, but there’s enough unsurenessitude that I can’t make any real retirement plans. And the timeline we were shown yesterday could change several more times in coming weeks. So I don’t know what the heck is going on!

I know I’ve got options, but not exactly what they are. I’ll just keep on keepin’ on till something’s decided.

Happy Firday!

I got this e-mail today. They got my name from an ad I posted trying to get rid of my moving boxes.

My response:

BBBobbio you really shouldn’t beat around the bush when you deal with those people. You should be more direct. :stuck_out_tongue:

And now ladies and gentlemen of the MMP I bring you today’s must have as seen on tv product, the one and only furniture fix! Hilarious ad! They have a 600 lb sumo wrestler and a 400 lb sumo wrestler sit on a sofa after they put down the “furniture fix” and LOOK! THE SOFA DOES NOT SAG!!!. I’m still gigglin’. Even OYKW in all his sickiness got the giggles over that.

VBob - at least the grammar and spelling were a lot closer to correct. What I find mind boggling is not that there are people out there attempting these scams, but that there are enough Densans* in the world to make it worth their effort. “Oh boy, Martha! I done won a sweepstakes!” “Did you enter one?” “No, but I won!”

It’s definitely spring - “The Annoying Ice Cream Truck Song”[sup]TM[/sup] is playing outside (heckuva lot better than inside, I know, still :p)

*those with IQs in the lowest 2% of the population. There’s a lot of them there folk out there.
