Where the heck’s the new MMP??

Hoppy Easter!!!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

I don’t have any Easter chocolate. :frowning:

We will be going to MiL’s for Easter dinner. I have been asked to bring my tater salad. My daughter, her fiance, and two of their friends will be joining us there. Additionally, two of my husband’s nieces and one his nephews and his family will also be there. Five kids under five and one of them just barely six. I’m not looking forward to all these kids running around on sugar highs.

To be honest, with the kids gone, I just don’t view Easter as a big deal. My husband and I would have treated it as any other Sunday, but my daughter sent me a message last week asking what was happening for Easter and if it would be possible for her and her fiance to bring their friends with them. Because I did not want any butthurtedness on the part of his mother, I told my husband to call her and find out what she was doing. This is when we found out about the house chock full of sugar high kids and that we were expected to be there.

Sigh, it’s not going to kill me, and MiL won’t be around in a few years, but if you knew those kids, you’d understand my complete reluctance to be there.

I’ve got the 'taters cooking and the eggs have already been boiled and are cooling.

Happy Easter or Sunday, whichever applies.

Not doing anything special. Too much work during the week; need a complete weekend for relaxing and getting chores done (not at the same time).

Hugs all.

You should have brought me with you. I fish like Ernie.

Seriously. A brim once jumped out of a pond and landed at my feet. All I was doing was walking along the shore with a baited pole in my hand.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate.

Yesterday was chores day…we have given notice on the house we live in (moving truck will be here on the 29th to pack us up for the move. We are hoping we hear on the mortgage next week.) so we needed to pick up /scrub the kitchen, bathrooms etc so that when they show it to new tenants we don’t look like we live like pigs. We don’t really I promise but the cleaning served two purposes to make it presentable to show and also when we do move out the final clean won’t take so long before we hand in the keys. So we vacuumed and mopped and I scrubbed the kitchen and bathrooms and I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the shower tray and bath tub with comet. Everything is sparkly clean.

Huge thunderstorm blew through last night with golf ball sized hailstones. so it is a lot cooler today. We made breakfast home this morning -scratch made biscuits and gravy with bacon and scrambled eggs. mr ems is loading the dishwasher that he just unloaded and I am headed to fold and put away the 867 loads of laundry I did yesterday.

There may be a movie excursion this afternoon…maybe not we hasn’t decided yet.

Look, Swampy, another savage cannonball for you to hang out with! :dubious:
Taters, I thought the term N.O.T. was coined just for you

Bobbio, I saw a couple guys walking out with fish this morning, you must be at the wrong hole. Yesterday was opening day, or Fish Feast day, it’s amazing any of 'em are hungry today after all of the empty hooks pulled out of the water yesterday. I wonder how much extra Velveeta is sold this week?

For bait or recipes? All sorts of strange things were used as bait for rainbow trout where my parents fished, cheese being one of them.

Happy Sunday/Easter/weekend day everyone!

Finally a day off after working 10 of 11 due to cow-orker vaca, so much needed rests for me, yep. Need to do some yard work, but it’s going to have to wait. All I’m doing today other than eating a nice ham dinner is taking the doggio for a walk, and enjoying the first real warm weather we’ve had here in a long while. It’s in the fifties and pleasant here near the Canad-jun border, and methinks I will enjoy all I can before projected rain arrives this evening.
Have a great day mumpers!

(and my cursor haz disappeared as I’ve been typing this post…gotta go look for it, I guess)

Mmmmmm… Velveeta - The Cheese Which Never Dies

why-o-why do I always forget how to properly nest quotes…?

Bait! There are certain things that won’t pass my lips; that stuff is one of 'em; mainly because I don’t know what it is. Cut a piece off of the brick & roll it into a ball between your fingers until it’s just the right shape for the hook, then once it hits the water it starts a small oil sheen for that split second before the hook & the weights on the line pull it under. Nope, Velveeta is fish food. Only!

I have redeemed myself as a DIY-with-a-kit-er. I took the badly put together bookshelf apart and put it back together the right way this time. fistpump

I may venture out to the Botanical Gardens later this afternoon if the weather holds. Or not. I want to get done with the current ball o’ yarn on the teal blanket.

I am heartened to learn that you have principals.

I’m going to have to unravel and restart the Neverending Teal Blanket again. cries

Afghan hook. Somewhere in the crochet hook box there is an afghan hook. I need to use it.

Start at 4:00 for the Velveeta Bridge

Howdy Y’all! We had quite the Easter feast this afternoon! Everything was nummy and best of all I do not have a ton o’ leftovers, just some ham which will be good for a couple of dindins this week. In other news, ‘tis tryin’ to be stormy out. The thunder rumbles I heard a while ago have stopped but it has rained a bit. Come on more rain and tstorms! I wants me some tstorms to go to sleep by tonight!

Lord in Heaven, please spare me the drama.

Niece (chronological age 18, maturity age…14ish) went up to Akron over the weekend to spend time with a friend who was having some life drama. Lovely intentions, but she lives 5 hours from there, got there (still not sure how)early Saturday morning and needed to get home today.

My brother went to get her (she doesn’t drive; no idea how she thought she was going to get home). He brought her here to work on college stuff, and is now reading her the riot act read about her behavior (quite calmly; I’m rather proud of my brother). Not shockingly, she’s not happy; at least there’s no yelling. Yet. She sees him as a source of oppression. (Seriously; she told me earlier he gives off an oppressive aura.) and yet, if it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t be going to one of the best art schools in the world. There are not enough rolleyes in the world.

I just pray she gets out of this phase sometime soon.

Arghhhh.

This just in from the Dale Carnegie front:

Got a phone call this afternoon from somebody affiliated with the trash company I’ve been feuding with. It seems he’s taken exception to me telling them to pound sand up there asses, and he claims he’s taking my letter to the county sheriff’s office tomorrow. :dubious: I told him to ‘knock yerself out.’

A few things don’t add up. His voice was quivering like he was a nervous 16 year old, his rehearsed speech was nearly incoherent, and he couldn’t tell me what I did that would involve law enforcement. On top of all that, tomorrow is April 1st.

I sit here quivering in fear of a SWAT raid for writing rude mail.:rolleyes:

BBBobbio I am on pins and needles awaitin’ the outcome.

In other news, I emptied the dishwasher. Everything is now put in its proper place. Go Me!

So, anybody wanna start us off tomorrow?

I may attempt to start us tomorrow, unless someone else jumps in. Kinda depends on when I wake up.

Oh, yeah, back from Mom’s. I’s stuffded. Besides my beeyooteeful eggs (which were a big hit) we had polish sausage, cheese-n-crackers, shrimp mousse, greek salad, glazed ham, twice-baked N.O.T., corn, cucumber salad, asparagus, jewish apple cake, chocolate-kahlua trifle, candy-apple “salad”, brownies, giant chocolate bunnies (OK, those were to take home) and all kinds of candies. Whew!

I scored the ham bone - yay!! Plus leftovers and candies, plus a big bag of yarn.

The only downside is Mom’s furnace wouldn’t come on, so it was chilly. She likes it cold, so she didn’t realize it wasn’t working. Fortunately, she has a service contract, so it should be fixed in a couple of days.

Glad to be home - my family is LOUD!!! It was pretty stressful - poor Higgs seemed to be overwhelmed. She’s now happily chewing on her pig. I’ve checked my kiln - it was down to about 230°, so I propped the lid up about an inch. It should be down to ambient by morning.

And next time I go to Mom’s will be in about 3 weeks for 2 days of digging up stuff for my yard. I plan to come back with a truckload of goodies for my newly cleared hills. For now, I just wanna chill…
