Where the heck’s the new MMP??

My guess is early May, the nights are starting to be warm when it is not windy. I have a feeling that this summer is going to be exceptional, we are way behind on rain something like 8 inches for the year so far. If we get little spring rain there is nothing to cool the pavement and ground which means we get hot quick and stay that way. The drought and heat two years ago killed about a third of the trees in our parks and yards. Then there are fires, yep wild fires, in 2011 we had fires on the west side that almost broke out of the parks and into neighborhoods. Our plant life has not recovered and we are a tinderbox.

Will be an interesting summer

Jim

Steaks and martinis dinner…yum!

Congrats to the favourite niece swampy

Home from The Vigil of Easter. ‘Twas a good but looooooooooooong service. A lot of scripture readin’s, paradin’ around with the Paschal Candle, a Baptism and of course The Eucharist.

I ache all over. Methinks I overdid it a bit today but the yahds look good so I have productivity to show for my achiness.

flytrap Julian is teethin’ and Wednesday night he grabbed the middle finger of my left hand and decided it would be the perfect thing upon which to teethe. Thus he gnawed my finger for a few minutes and I loved every second of it cause he’s just so keeeeeeeeyoooooooote!

And on that note da bear shall turn in for the night.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

And you could just as easily substitute OYKW there.

I’m starting to wonder if there are any drugs up to the task of managing radiation burn pain. The intent with the fentanyl was that he might need something else now and then for “breakthrough” pain, but “now and then” has worked out to be more like two Percocet every seven hours instead of every six hours. Just another question for the doc on Monday.

MAJOR thunderstorm in progress here. Scared the cat,and it’s keeping me awake (and I’ve now been awake for something like 36 hours).

Happy Easter!! to those of you who celebrate

Happy Zombie Jesus Day to those who don’t… :stuck_out_tongue:And Happy Second Passover to those who could always walk the streets of Belfast safely

Congrats Swampy!!
(But… your *favorite *niece is gasp straight?! :p:D d&r)

Very Blurf.

Went party. Party good. Back 3am (though this figure was aided by the clocks changing). Not really awake yet.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 77 and possibly tstorms later today. A big rain would be nice.

gotti OYKW reserves the right to gnaw on any body part of his choice.

Da cave is smellin’ hammerific right now. Then again I got up at four and put it in the oven so I reckon that should be true. Of course I went back to bed. At seven-thirty I shall turn the oven off and let the ham set there whilst I deheathenate. Since I did Episcopal Easter last night I shall go to the nine o’ clock service this mornin’ and do Lutheran Easter just cause. Plus I’ll be back to da cave around eleven this mornin’ to relaxate before others descend upon us around one o’ clock. Should be a nice Easter lunch. Oh, and champagne is a chillin’ of course.

For all who celebrate…

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Now I shall seek more caffiene and sustenance for rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for Lutheran deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

I kinda sorta almost slept in today in a way… I woke around 4:30 to tend to an “urgency” - then flopped around on and off for the next 2 hours till finally gave up trying to sleep. I closed the curtain on the east window so **FCD **could sleep, even if the sun rose (I think it’s overcast, but I can’t tell yet.)

Doggie has been fed and played with, cat box has been scooped, and I checked my kiln - it’s done firing and it’s cooling down. When we get home tonight, it should be cool enough that I can prop the lid open and turn off the fans, and tomorrow, I can unload it and start decorating and glazing.

We’re going to head to my Mom’s about 10 or so - dinner is at 2:30. Besides the pastel eggs, I’ve got a bag of shawls and hats for the AARP charities, and we’ve got to pack food and a few toys for Higgs. I’ll probably also take my current afghan so I can be productive in the car for 4 hours. Plus it helps pass the time on the road.

Uncle swampy, congrats on your newly eloped niece! I hope it works as well for her has it has for me - coming up on 30 years.

It’s not a happy Easter here - there’s a horrifying lack of chocolate bunnies in this house. :frowning: Maybe my mommy will have one for me??

Happy Easter, anyway!

Happy Sunday.

It’s 9 degrees above freezing and looks miserable outside.

I’m at irk trying to get a little more time in for the week.

I think we’re eating at noon or something although I will probably skip it.
Then I am bopping over to a friends house and we will probably bs a ll afternoon and into the night. Well it’s a little more than a bop since I have to go through the tunnel or across the bridge.
I’ll pick up something chocolate on the way.

**sari **- are you venturing to Dundalk???

We’ll be going thru the Harbor Tunnel, and we’ll probably go to the DC beltway, then up the BW parkway because that’s quicker than taking 301 and 97. Too many lights on 301.

I’m having some almond butter on toast - very yummy. I need to get another jar, tho. I see a grocery run tomorrow or Tuesday. Actually, probably a WalMart run, because I need dog food, and it’s considerably cheaper there. Or I could get **FCD **to pick it up on his way home, since he passes WallyWorld, altho he hates that store with a fierce hated. The point is, if you like peanut butter and you like almonds, you should try almond butter. Yum!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.
Happy Easter.

I will be heading out to Overlea.

I don’t know why but I always take the Harbor Tunnel to get there and the Key Bridge coming back.

I like almonds better than peanuts so I should try almond butter.

Once again I have forgotten to get the chicken broth to make jambalaya with. :smack: Oh well, I needed to get a few other things at the store anyway.

HAPPY BUNNY DAY!

Heh - that’s not too far from where I grew up. If you google 1792 Amuskai Rd, Parkville, MD, the house on the end - red siding and white shutters - that’s where I spent my formative years. Except google is wrong - the actual address is 1764. There is no 1792 on Amuskai (pronounced uh-MUS-key) Rd.

The place is a tad over 1000 sq ft. It has one bathroom, plus a small basin and toilet in the basement. The bedroom I shared with my sister was about 9X9, and the smallest bedroom was closer to 6X9. There were 7 in our family.

I left home in '73 when I joined the Navy…

And we’re off to Mom’s! Laterz!

I done growed up in Carney not far away, but **Mom **knew that, being my own personal benign internet stalker and all.

Happy Easter! All who are traveling be safe! We’re having ham, Tater salad, turnip greens- my fave, and whatever else the DH decides to cook. I am a lucky wife.

Why do I crave chocolate all the time? When I am trying to diet. Woe is me.

I crave chocolate all the time too. I try to fight my cravings. The cravings often win.

Went to a party last night - my third consecutive party in three days. Have a headache this morning. I’ll go ahead and blame the dearth of caffeine…

The fish weren’t biting this morning. I checked.
