Subtexts aside, though, the substance of Trump’s attack isn’t that mixed-race relationships or people are intrinsically bad, he’s saying (falsely, of course) that Harris has suddenly changed her racial self-identification in the recent past for opportunistic reasons.
I was so focused on the horrible things Vance was saying that I think I missed the big picture. The only elected office Vance has ever held is a Senate seat he has been in for less than two years and that was essentially bought for him. People are debating whether Pete Buttigieg has enough experience to be VP while meanwhile Vance has NO experience governing. There is a real chance if Trump is elected as the oldest president ever that we could end up with this totally inexperienced person as president. Just another reason to be terrified.
