Who will be Trump's running mate? (J. D. Vance Has Been Chosen)

Yes, my bad.

Walz was a command sergeant major. Vance made it to corporal. The difference is truly vast.

Like 2nd Lieutenant vs a Colonel. E4 vs E9.

I looked it up and command sgt major is better.

And Kelly was a Navy Captain, combat pilot and a Freakin’ Astronaut!

Maybe trump should ditch Vance for Elon Musk! Oh, wait – he’s not a native-born American. Never mind.

And he’s just a Freaking, Astronaut (kinda)

In other words, a space cadet.

Elon Musk would be a great choice if Trump decides to dump Vance. Musk knows kung fu:

Ronny Chieng on the Daily Show envisioned a Kelly/JD debate “You wrote a memoir about your hillbilly family? That’s cool… I jacked off in space!”

I feel like trying to have a woman explain why childless people are bad doesn’t work. The idea is still bonkers, after all. And why bring this story up again?

Trump probably demanded it. You may have noticed that, on rare occasions, he gets obsessed with a relatively minor stupid point, and can’t help but keep bringing it up over and over again, even if it makes him look weird and obsessed.

And a certain segment of his followership (esp. the religious right) does think there is something just wrong about the “childfree” life and some of the more hardcore do think less of not having children “of your own”.

Oh, Hell yeah. As a hetero male, childless by choice, and married into a MAGA religious family, I can tell you this first hand. It’s a big part of why my wife’s relationship with her family is so bad.

That sucks. On the other hand, such people wouldn’t vote for a DEMONcrat anyway, right?

But do you think Trump knows the difference?!

Hardly.

So, as for the thread title question:

I think Trump must be reasonably satisfied with Vance vs. Walz and will sick with Vance.

Anyone disagree?

The varsity vs JV bit was generous. Vance is clearly not someone the country, including the MAGA base, wants to be the head of the country in a crisis. He is roughly nine points under on approval to disapproval.

And Trump is going to get increasingly frustrated at not getting the center of attention in the news. Dropping Vance after the DNC gets the focus.

This bit’s hilarious to me, and makes me like Walz a lot more.

But it shows weakness. I still don’t see it.

Besides, in the right wing news bubble I presume that Vance is being given fawning praise. Are we positive that Trump - who surely learns the most by turning on the tv - thinks Vance is a failure as a pick?
