I clearly missed that she had been banned – rightfully so it sounds like. I figured she had simply stopped posting. Now I’m going to have to go back and look for her banning announcement.

Yeah, when I saw this thread pop up again, I thought the same thing. It does seem that they have lit out of here, though. Hopefully they’ll come back someday.
I miss Eve. I miss Sampiro and Wang-Ka telling us stories. I miss flatlined and her stories about her BBF and her rescues. I miss seeing Nava. I miss norinew. I miss Giraffe and TVeblen . I miss SwimmingRiddle . I miss Coldfire. Rue_DeDay, who started the MMMP. Scylla and his stories of events in his life. Fenris and his moderator stories. I miss Skald the Rhymer’s hypothetical trips to alternate universe libraries.
Every time an old thread is revived, I see names of people whose posts I miss.
Wish @annamika would come back.
@chowder. He disappeared several years ago. He was older, and may have had health problems. I’m guessing he died.

Discourse will give you a list of autofill suggestions of real usernames as you type in the right characters. If you don’t see the one you want, then the characters aren’t right. And if you get a correct username, Discourse will add a link (and hopefully send them a notification that they were mentioned).
This may be too forward of me, but I have instructions for my passing, so someone can let you all know I didn’t walk out, but croaked.
Eve, yes, I miss Eve. I still have the book she autographed for me. I bought the book and mailed it to her, with money for return postage, so she could put her name in it/ It’s her bio of John Gilbert. Sad ending there.

Yeah, he was the first one I thought of when this thread started. A brilliant man and an absolute asset to this board.
I was thinking about him just the other day. And his cat, Eccles, whose passing he reported. As I recall, he got another cat, whom Chowder didn’t like quite as much. I’m guessing that Chowder passed too, at some point, and we never heard.
Thinking of elderly Dopers, does anybody know about @KlondikeGeoff ?
