Will This Be The MMP

I’m up and getting prepared for my globe trotting kind of day. First I have a breakfast about an hour away from here. After that I have lunch 45 minutes away. If I’m lucky, I’ll have about an hour and 15 minutes in between to actually prepare the food for lunch (N.O.L.). If I’m not lucky, then I’ll have to call my mom and wake her up and have her work on it for me. Unfortunately GilaMonster can’t work today so it could get interesting.

I had an old friend that had Huskies, Taters. They were great dogs (other than I was allergic to them). But I agree, you can’t have just one!

I’m weak, too. I would have loved to sleep in today.

Good luck with your busy day, Sticky.

Welcome, Polar! (And doggie 2 too!)

Look! It’s SO! ::Waves enthusiastically:: Yay!

Guess I should get up.

Back later.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

It rained last night. A lot. Big TBoomers too! It’s not near as humid out as normal which is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig plus!

Yay for Polar Taters! I say get the lab too. Just tell Mr. Taters you want him to have two Father’s Day presents!

BBBobbio gnomes and pink flamingoes? Aren’t you worried the neighbors will think you’re puttin’ on airs? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I’ve made it to my breakfast delivery and I’m quite a bit early. I had forgotten that I’d be travelling down old country roads during rush hour instead of going bumper to bumper on the highway. It was a rather pleasant drive, all things considered.

My tax return has arrived. Wheeeeeeeee!

I don’t particularly enjoy the notion of loaning money to the guvmint, but hey, at least they do pay it back.

I think TVCTPMO is warming up for another major assault on my dignity.

First was the already whined about water line leak.

This morning, a circuit in my house wasn’t working. It was fine when I went to bed, and resetting the breakers didn’t restore it.

Twice, within 18 hours, I was nearly run off the road by a kamikaze passer.

Rain on the way in to Cubeville, which brings out the worst in Virginia drivers, and a traffic jam to delay me even more.

When I got to Cubeville, my office PC wouldn’t work right.

Last (so far), one of my cow-orkers brought in donuts, which he puts out for public consumption in my cube. I ain’t supposed to be eating them. :grrrrr:

I can haz quit o’clock yet?

Good morning!

I got the blurfs… my tummy is icky, and I have to be here. I’d much rather be close to my own toilet at home. TMI, I know…

Back to irk…

ETA: Bobbio - I say turn around and head home, crawl into bed and pull the covers over your head.

Waking up and not looking forward to the next month. My “BUSY! GO AWAY!” sign is going to be on permanently as I’m working on bringing a new department of a few hundred people into the fold. Well over 2,000 login IDs all combined. Oy…

Either we had a micro-tornado yesterday, or there’s just a really weird and unfortunate wind pattern at my neighbor’s patio.

Any storm that cuts our power is significant as we’re about 10 miles from a nuke and our powerlines are underground. After the blowin’ was done, our neighbor’s patio set was all jumbled up in a heap at the edge of the patio with the table smashed and the umbrella shredded. On our side of the fence, the hummingbird feeder was still hanging in the tree, the cover was still on the grill and the patio table was unbothered.

Aside from that - the light yellow bathroom is done. I’ve never needed three coats of paint for anything before, and if I wanted to, a fourth coat wouldn’t be a bad idea in some spots. If you don’t go looking for bad spots, it looks a lot nicer than the beige that was there before.

Hello!

Dad is on the mend and if he continues being a good boy and doing what he is told to do he should be home by the end of the week which is good news. He has been seriously ill and it will take a while to recuperate but he is on the mend!

Last week was very very stressful and I can’t do that again. Urgh.

In other news…I got nuttin as my days are spent working remotely for a few hours (my boss has been great about me doing that and not having to take unpaid time off) hospital visiting taking care of my mam and more hospital visiting when my sister gets in from work. She is going to take some time off/work part time when I head back to the US for a couple weeks.

Sorry about Cappy Taters but Polar has a wonderful new set of humans to take care of him!

Glad to hear the good news, ems!

Yay for the good news mmmmmm’s! Continued prayers and good thoughts headed to daddy mmmmmm’s.

BBBobbio the donuts could be “accidentally” knocked onto the floor.

I do not own a chainsaw. I do not want to own a chainsaw thus I don’t. I have had three calls today askin’ me if I have a chainsaw.

Maybe I do look like the chainsaw murder type.

Since a barrel of monkeys wasn’t available last night, we decided to trim the cat. She’s a Maine Coon and since the advent of summer has been shedding her thick coat all over the house as evidenced by numerous, disparate tufts of wispy, black and brown fur. This was a new adventure to all involved, Alexis, my 9 year old daughter and myself. Around an hour after we’d closed ourselves in a small room with her and what proved to be a dull pair of scissors, 2 people and a half a cat emerged. The other half was left on the floor. I learned two things from the experience. One, holy cow but Maine Coons have a lot of excess fur. Two, cats can make really, really, really bizarre, satanic noises when they’ve a mind to.

I’ve only been asked if I own a chainsaw once. OTOH, I have been asked a couple times if I have a basin wrench, which I do, and I’m happy to loan it out and save someone the ten bucks it costs to buy one. Guess I look like a plumber.

I need someone to program a “Sites I Hate” button for the web browser. I’d use it to contain all of the web-based things that I use for work. There’s one in particular that I loathe, so it’s just wrong to call it a “Favorite” site.

gotti I like that idea. A “Banes of My Existence” instead of a “My Favorites”. I think that has potential!

Dropped off the bike for a new exhaust system. The old one had some leaks and tended to backfire on cold mornings. So do I for that matter but the bike is cheaper to fix. The new pipes are still going to be fairly quiet but one piece construction which will help performance. I’m also having my crash bars powdercoated black; everyone has chrome and I just feel a need to be a little different.

Just hooked up my new portable a/c. I feeling occasional cool breezes, hoping it gets better because my indoor thermometer was showing 94 after I closed the windows. One concern is there’s a lot of heat coming off the exhaust hose, hope that doesn’t become a problem.

Now I hear thunder rumblings outside so that might cool things off too.

I’m not worried about getting temp work, since the plan is to leave for Japan in a year. We’ll see if it actually happens.

LOL. I brushed our cats this morning. Mya was pissed that I was harrassing her and not letting her eat grass (since I do it outside). I could’ve made myself a kitten from the fur I got off her. Hermione on the other hand, was thrilled. ‘I’m outside, on your lap, being brushed, AND eating grass? JOY!’

A lot of things have changed over the years.

The MMP isn’t one of them. How y’all been?

Itchy.

Dooooooooood…

You still in Mayberry North?
