No one in their right mind would look at what they are saying now and conclude that we should vote for them because in the past they were reasonable in this case, **it is always crucial to check what they are saying and doing today ** regardless of the issue.
You need to accept defeat on this one and graciously move on. There have been plenty of dumb-ass bills that have been proposed over the years and they are proof of nothing except that politicians can occasionally submit dumb-ass bills.
