I’m in Boston, and it’s not any better. I’m on vacation this week, and I’d planned on spending every day at the beach. Since Saturday, it’s been partly cloudy, windy, and the temperature hasn’t risen above 70F. I am Not Amused.

Oh, you poor girl. That sucks. I’ve actually gotten chills going home from work.
But it’s supposed to be 92 on Saturday.
What beach haven’t you gone to? I highly recommend Old Silver.

Summer was in April this year, didn’t you get the memo? The upcoming bank holiday is looking good for the southeast at least.
Yep, this is what I was going to say. The week I was there in April it was HOT. What the hell? I expected to be cold and wet the whole time, instead I walked around sweating.

Gomiboy…you aren’t stealin their wimmin, are ya?
How rude!

Disgraceful isn’t it. Frankly if i’d known he was up to those kind of shenanigans then i’d have made damn sure i stole some of yours when i was living in New York.
Frankly, some of them were practically begging to be stolen and obviously, in hindsight, i was far too polite about the whole situation.
I’m sure my Missus would have understood that i was only doing my patriotic duty.

Everything is really, deeply, green! The novelty of this wore out in the first week of June though. I wish my lawn would stop growing LIKE THE FUCKING BOUNTIFUL VERDANT COCK-KNOCKER IT IS! Gaaah!

I’m jealous. I have one rose bush and it looks like it’s through a blast furnace. The heat and wind are putting a big hurting on it.
BlinkingDuck - hell, yes, I am! It’s my way of getting even for the warm beer, shocking food, and shite weather - I steal their women. It could also be the accents - nothing slays me quite so well as a posh British accent (my GF was public school educated from age 8) whispering dirty dirty things in my ear. ::shivers::

Too late! I’ll be off with my dewy English Rose and fly across the far ocean and you’ll be down one and my masterful plan will be complete and you will never get your chance to even the score!
Yeah, right when I was on holiday. My flatmate laughed at me and told me I ‘missed summer’ when I got back, but fuck - at least I had a bit of a tan from being Stateside for 3 weeks.
I went to Paris that week hoping for an escape from the shite weather..and it fucking pissed rain the whole time!
My aussie flatmate has ordered a “happy light” to cope with her SAD.
Ok, I’d kill for cool and damp right now. We’re on a record setting string of plus 90 degree days, and last week, we had 10 out of 11 days in triple digits. Add in our ever present humidity, and it’s a big bunch of suck right now.
Basically, the worst possible summer for my wife to be pregnant. She ain’t happy.
Did you happen to scroll down that weather page you linked to, GomiBoy? Because although it’s still supposed to be cool tomorrow, the few days after that look quite delightful. Even by American standards.

Yeah, I think we’ve been getting the same jet stream effect here in New England this summer, particularly the past few weeks. Not a lot of rain, but much cooler than you’d usually expect for August. It’s really sort of dismaying because it feels like September started two or three weeks early.
It’s been a pretty pathetic “summer” here in Vancouver too. June was a complete washout, July had a total of maybe two weeks of good weather spread over the month, and August has been about the same so far. It’s really annoying - I’m pretty heavily into swing dancing, and we have a dance every Thursday down at Kits beach, but we’ve been rained out 4 times so far this year. Tomorrow’s supposed to be nice, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
