The gun DID save his life from an attacker. I have no problem with this. I would love to visit the factories of some of the things that interest me.
A few years ago, one of my in-laws attempted to rescue an elderly man who’d been the victim of a car wreck. Unfortunately, the man died in my in-laws arms before the paramedics arrived. My in-law also stayed behind to comfort the woman who caused the accident and to give statements to the police.
It’s rather ironic that had the good Samaritan in this instance been wearing a hoodie and walking through Z’s neighborhood his “look” that would have made Z suspicious of him.
If Z’s story did involve an *actual *accident and was not a PR stunt and if he did, in fact, do what’s been reported, then I’m very happy for the family involved.
Zimmerman is still a murderer, though. No number of good deeds will erase this fact. Unfortunately, he is a murderer who had the law on his side.
George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who killed Trayvon Martin, plans to ask the state of Florida to cover $200,000 to $300,000 of his legal expenses, his attorney told the Orlando Sentinel Monday evening.
Because Zimmerman was acquitted, state law requires Florida to pay all his legal costs, minus the biggest one: the fee that goes to his lawyers.
Defense attorney Mark O’Mara said Monday that he would soon prepare a motion, asking Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson to authorize the payments.
His office is still collecting numbers, he said, but he estimated the request would total $200,000 to $300,000.
Good for him. $300,000 saved is $300,000 earned.
He’s scheduled to piss on Trayvon Martin’s grave later in the week.
Zimmerman and his apologists are nothing but human shit. If some whackjob offs that fucker, well, who really cares?
I’ve given you a warning for the use of inappropriate language in MPSIMS. If you want to say stuff like this, go to the Pit.
twickster, MPSIMS moderator
Wait, since when can we not be pottymouths outside the Pit? Because I’m pretty fucking sure I liberally say “fuck” all over this board.
Standard motion in Florida. An acquitted person is entitled for some of the court costs to be reimbursed by the state. That doesn’t include attorney fees. Zimmerman stills owes that if he ever gets any money from his NBC defamation suit.
And now more breaking news: George Zimmerman got a speeding ticket!
Seriously, people need to let this go. Was there an injustice? Yes, in my opinion. But injustices happen every day. It’s time to move on.
What’s this I hear about the UN possibly investigating the shooting?
If they do, what exactly can they do? What do they intend to do? What practical effect could it possibly have on Zimmerman or any civil suit?
I read that they are just telling the Feds to wrap up their investigation. From the UN itself:
code talking wife wants a divorce.

George Zimmerman is being held by police after a domestic incident involving a gun, police said today.
According to police in Lake Mary, Florida, Zimmerman is being detained by police after a domestic dispute involving his wife and father-in-law, Colin Morgan.
“There was some kind of a domestic, we know that with his wife and father-in-law. Apparently there were some weapons involved and threats,” the deputy police chief in Lake Mary told ABC News.
He has not been charged with any crime.
Zimmerman’s wife, Shellie, recently announced plans to divorce.
Interesting that CNN reports it a bit differently:
ABC News says:
So – her attorney says Zimmerman pulled a knife and a gun; the cops say no gun was involved. Zimmerman not charged.
Yet.
And yet, from (what appears to be) the same ABC story, you neglected the following:
Worth adding, i guess, that i’m not suggesting that we simply take her word for it.
This seems to be one of those situations that could turn out any one of a bunch of different ways, and Zimmerman’s wife seems to have developed a little bit of a taste for the spotlight herself recently. That, combined with the fact that they are divorcing, could provide some incentive for her to be a bit slippery with the facts when she and George have a disagreement.
Zimmermans are the new Kardashians.
Poor misunderstood George - standing his ground once again.
A divorce ‘He said, She said’. Who knows what really happened and what lows either of these two will stoop to to use the media and the court of public opinion.
