24: Season 5: Episodes 11-12 (5:00pm - 7:00pm)

Make that “I’m not enough of a fictional chemical weapons expert to know how sentox degrades.”

Bwahaha! You owe me a new monitor. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m curious to see how long Jack can hold his breath in order to save everyone. We must assume that he has superhuman breath-holding capabilities, of course.

Also, they sure have a much looser definition of “Intensive Care” than most other hospitals. Tony looked as if all he needed was a comb and a shave. And maybe a Bandaid.

Of course they are. Think of all the time they save not having to do background checks on all their agents.

The Lynn McGill plot hole had me screaming at my TV (because, you know, when you do that, the writers can hear you). As mack stated, Lynn should not have been able to get back into CTU without his keycard. Plus, they inferred that the keycard is used entering and exiting. He could not have lied his way back in (“Left it on my desk. Oops”) as they would know he used it exiting the building.

Did they ever state how crack-addicting boyfriend-in-law had contacts with the terrorists? Or did he just look up Terrorist ‘r’ Us in the Yellow Book?

Jack shooting Mrs. Henderson in the leg: FAN-FUCKIN’-TASTIC. If only he had done the same to Kim’s squeeze. Mrs. D_Odds looked at me strange as I cheered the leg shot, and then tried to goad Jack into bitch-slapping Blake.

FLOTUS and Aaron going to be getting hot and heavy any time soon? POTUS ain’t gonna be gettin’ any, and a lady’s got needs.

Per the coming attractions:It seems centox is also corrosive enough to the seals around the safe rooms. Is there anything this gas can’t do?

He probably threatened to have the security guy escort himself out of the building if he didn’t let him in.

That’s what I was thinking: he bullied his way back in. Still, considering the attrition rate, getting fired from CTU isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Many of you have covered the things that were great about the episodes last night.

I have to compliment Kiefer’s acting in one scene. When he revealed himself to Kim and asked to speak to her alone, Barry jumped in and was giving him crap. All he said was “Kim”, but the tone said “Shut him up and get him out of here before I rip out his throat with my teeth”.

Watching Edgar round the corner into the room was painful…and I cheered as well when Jack shot Mrs. Henderson in the leg. I loved the look of pure shock on her face when she grabbed her thigh.

Yes. Kill Jack Bauer.

We know from previous seasons that Tony only takes a few hours to heal.
The President Douche thing is a bit much. Why would he cave into the terrorists so easily? It’s not like they won’t use the nerve gas if he complies with their demands.

Much like the two stokers who got drunk the night before Titanic left and were fired for missing the sailing.

:smack:

If you ask me (and I know you did), Tony was sandbagging it from hours 7-11. He was overworked and needed some extra sack time.

Did anyone else notice that Elisha Cuthbert had a terrible acne outbreak on her chin with a ton of makeup slathered across it?

It looked like a flesh colored mountain range.

Man, the keycard thing was just bad. Chloe could tell it was Lynn’s card, but the guard had no clue. Apparently it even has Lynn’s password to get into the computer system on it (the computer showed Lynn’s login when the bad guy messed with the ventilation that caused the hot chick to go check things out). Seems like a good design… store all the information and access privileges on the card itself, instead of just having the card readers get the ID number and grab all the information from the internal CTU database. Makes it really easy to change access privileges on the fly.

Kim shows up just in time for the CTU attack… again. Man, talk about being unlucky.

I enjoyed the classic redshirt action: running down the hallway, easily ambushed by the bad guy during a lockdown. No wonder these guys never survive.

Seriously, if it ever comes down to it, I’d still watch 24 if Black Bauer was the main man.

The back door by the loading dock where the smokers go. They keep it propped open.

Did President Cream Puff ever not trust an idea coming from someone who was creepy and/or smarmy? Why trust Mike or FLOTUS when you can cave in to someone with a hidden agenda?

It was late and I was tired and not at my most observant, but did the bandage change to the other side of his face when he was looking in the mirror? Probably just a brain cramp on my part.

Random thoughts and speculations:

-I bet Edgar wished he hadn’t chosen the red undershirt that morning.

-CHipOtLE showed a little emotion there at the end when she realized there would be no more Edgar McMuffins. I hope it was a one time thing.

-I blew it when I guessed that Miriam was in it with Henderson. The way that she was looking around made me guess that she had a gun hidden somewhere.

-I’m still guessing that Kim’s boyfriend (Barry) is one of the bad guys. He was her clinical psychologist, and Henderson had already admitted that he and Miriam had kept an eye on Kim. It wouldn’t have been hard to steer Kim to Barry, and to have Barry initiate a relationship. That would put him right in a key position. If so, these terrorist sure plan for every bump in the road, don’t they?

Okay, so…

… who’s going to bite it next week?

Obviously, not Jack. Not Chloe either, as she’s pretty much a breakout star and a fan favorite. Besides, with Edgar gone, they need at least one more computer whiz within the main cast.

“Edgar!! Edgaaaaaaaaaaar!!”

“Kim… Out of danger?”

“Yes.”

“Do not grieve, Chloe. The needs of the many outweigh…”

“The needs of the few.”

“Or the one. Live long… and prosper.”

“Whatever.”

That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw that scene.

When all the cast members(sans Edger and Carrie) sealed themselves up in CTU, did anyone else think:

“Okay, we’ve killed all the extras. Now we can finally get some work done”

I actually had the same reaction initially, but I was too tired to go back and look for sure. However, I think my mind was playing tricks on me due to views of him in the mirror and then not in the mirror.

I think.

YES!

I’d be willing to bet a case of beer that it’s Lynn dying heroically to make up for his earlier stupidity.

Wasn’t Barry in the montage of potential sacrificees? He already pissed off Jack, so it isn’t like he’ll be missed. Or, we could get really lucky and it is Kim. I have a vague memory of reading that she was only in 2 episodes this season. Lynn is low-hanging fruit. Too easy.
