A crumby jelly MMP

Why are the Chinese leaving me voicemails again?

Just don’t leave out the “and”. And hope you get some sleep at some point.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

“hide the good Scotch” brother proof, or "“make sure he doesn’t stick a fork in the wall socket again” brother proof?

nut I don’t know how accurate the test is. If it is accurate I can’t have beef, pork, chicken, shellfish or salmon and tuna. What does that leave for protein? Allergic to all nuts ( Filberts weren’t mentioned), milk, egg whites, wheat, potatoes, carrots, apples, strawberries, grapes…all trees, all feathers and a bunch more. I had the old school allergy test years ago, the scratch method, and I was already aware of only about 7 foods. I still eat those and have not died.

I slept for 5 and a half hours so I guess that’s it.

Yay Buddy! Good cat.

Also the teleporting option. He needs cat lessons. Poor GG.

:astonished:

Wheelie Happy Anniversary!

Same old, same old here.

Take care everyone. Happy Tuesday.

I’m sticking with skim milk. (Why is it not called skimmed milk?) Last year the doc put me on a course of Rx Vitamin D because I don’t get enough from sunshine. Cream has 10% of the RDA, and skim, which of course has vitamins added, has 25%. Actually, I usually have plant-based milk, but I got a craving for cow’s milk, so that’s what I have in the fridge. Cream is yum, but skim milk neutralizes the acid in coffee just enough and besides, I was raised on skim because Mom thought it healthier.

I’m going exploring today. OK, I’m going for an aimless walk, but saying “exploring” makes it seem more adventurous.

wheelz, happy silver anniversary! Your dinner plans sound perfect.

nut, good on you for volunteering. Oh, the power you have as the sole student who shows up! “100% of students said that given the opportunity, they would not eat mushroom paté that looks like poo.”

FCM, glad the visit is almost over so you can get back to normal. Of course, your normal is most people’s outstanding

VanGo, I have no idea what a steering rack is–I’m picturing a set of antlers replacing a steering wheel–but I’m glad you were able to barter to get it done. Your brother will only be there overnight, right?

Good for you! I usually get up around 7:30 or 8:00. I spent years getting up at 4:50 A.M. for work, and that was enough.

Butters, I had to look up plantation shutters to see what they are. They look great, and I bet they work better than blinds.

Not feeling well today. Couldn’t sleep after 0200 this morning, got up at 0430, showered, shaved, dressed, and headed off to irk. After about 73 miles, I decided I’d better call in sick and turned around and headed home. Wifey, RN checked me for appendicitis (Rovsing’s sign) and I don’t have it. This seems to be the same thing that happened 20-some years ago. Then, I self-medicated with OTC remedies that turned out to be the wrong ones. After a week or two I ended up going to an emergency clinic. I think I know what’s going on, and taking the correct remedy to fix it. The remedy is starting to work, and I’ve had a couple of hours of sleep. I should be OK in the morning.

It’s hide all the booze brother proof. He’s going on 3 years clean, and I don’t wanna be a bad influence.

nelie Tee hee! The steering rack is the doo-hicky that translates the steering wheel movements into pointing the wheels in the right direction.

wheelie Happy anniversary!

flyboy Feel better soonest. Nice to have medical attention right there.

Not boating today - FIL is really out of it. He kept seeing people climbing the tree in our front yard - Parkinson’s hallucinations. Then he tried to go out in the garage without his walker - no idea why he was going there. I’ve never seen him more out of it.

FCD wants to try the boat tomorrow. I don’t know. Actually, he wants to take them home tomorrow, but I need to watch the kid. He might try to take them on Thurs - we’ll talk about it with the kids tonight. I half hope he decides to do that.

So we’re all having pizza for supper here - daughter et al are on their way. I’ll place the pizza order in about an hour.

Feeling a little better. A little. I think I’m hungry. There was a cup of chicken stock left in the container in the fridge, so I’m sipping on that. Just for kicks, I took a Covid test. I’m not pregnant. Wifey, RN came home between patients. Assured I’m not a plague rat today, she’d off to see her other two patients for the day. She says she’ll be home sometime after 1400 before visiting her last patient at 1545. Abbey’s looking very contented on the couch beside me. She gives me kisses when I pet her. Goo’s in the bedroom.

Good to hear the kitties are on duty.

Your yard remodel sounds lovely silenus.

The Tobester is utterly adorbs Mooooooom.

Happy anniversary wheelie and MrsWheelie!

She is a bit young for Ginger’s litter rebo, but she looks remarkably like the rest of the tribe.

Feel better soonest flyboy.

Irked, did my online irk handbook training, came home, rescued Nelson from the bedroom, where I shut him in so’s the maintenance guy could change filters on the AC. Poor baby, after all of the barking last evening at Rico (maintenance), I’m pretty sure that he barked his little heart out when he was here today. When Sugar next door barked a greeting this afternoon, he just kind of did a half assed, hoarse bark. Right now, he’s curled up in my lap until I go do KP.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Howdy Y’all! We survived the doc and eye doc. My appointment also included a visit to the vampire for my quarterly blood lettin’. I like the fact that in a few days I can login to the portal and see all the results. OYKW will be gettin’ new specs. No changes, but ‘twas time for a new pair after four years with the same ones. He got the same frames he has now. I need to make an appointment to get my eyes checked and get new specs. I will also go with the same frames I have now. What? We like the borin’ grumpy old men glasses. We did achieve nappage and some quality cee-mint pond time (with day drinkin’). Sup got cooked and et and now we await the ensuin’ fartfest.

Wheelie conga-rats on the anniversary! The plans for the evenin’ sound perfect to me.

Butters I agree with Nuts about the allergy test results. If the results of the one I had years ago were believable, I would have been dead five years before I had the test.

VanGo good luck with the brother proofin’. I do not know what that entails, but I hope it works.

flyboy hope you feel better soonest!

Yeah I’m not placing a lot of confidence on the blood tests. I will see what the Dr thinks on the 26th. Assuming my sinus are clear I will have the implant on the 31st.

I potted more succulents. I got in the mail my herb seeds and some coleus seeds. I will do those tomorrow. I’m going to snap a few photos of my raised bed and the succulent garden. I have other stuff out there so it’s not a succulent garden per say.

All my life I have been a night owl and used to sleep in school. I managed to graduate so I must have been absorbing it by osmosis. I just took three Benedryl. I am going to sleep tonight or die trying. Insomnia sucks.

Have a safe evening everyone.

Happy anniversary Wheelz.

Forgot I have sunflower seeds too. They will just get broadcast against the fence in front. The instructions say they can get to seven feet tall.

Home is the traveler…thanks to the hotel shuttle, two American Airlines flights, and a taxi in Ali-bama. Have just gone through a 4" pile of mail, most of it will be fed to the shredder, but a few things (bills) are probably worth answering. Also got a new license plate from the State of Ali-bama instead of just the decal, with a new number and all, so I’ll install that first thing…later…

Will post pictures to the Book of Faces, once I figure out how to download pictures from the phone. All in all it was a good trip and I have a new jacket I really like, even if I won’t be able to use it again until November…

Wheelie, Happy Anniversary!

And to everyone else, I have read all but retained only modest bits, so nothing but positive waves to all of you. Hopefully I can begin my mundane posts from home tomorrow.

FIL’s hallucinations are getting worse. He insists there were 6 stacks on FCD’s shop - where there are none. He kept saying there were people on our front lawn - nope, not even passing pedestrians. He was getting angry when we told him he was seeing things.

Parkinson’s sucks.

FCD will take them home on Thursday without me. I hate that he has to drive alone, but I’m glad I don’t have to make that gawd-awful trek. I may have time to futz in my garden.

But tomorrow, I have to pick up both grands, drop off Roxy at school, and bring the Tobester here. Same on Thursday.

Is FCMIL messing around with FCFIL’s meds again?

At least he’s handsome!!! We got exactly what we paid for, nowhere does the breeder claim his cats are smart. I probably should have figured it out when I watched his mom fall off the coffee table…

I get that from Mom all the time. Morning people often don’t understand that night owls are at their most productive after the sun goes down and the house is quiet.

I’m not happy that your FIL isn’t doing well, but I’m glad you didn’t have to try to get him on your boat. You have my sympathy, dementia is horrible.

Thanks to the firefighters jumping all over the fire, Archosanti will be around for a while longer  Paolo Solari was a pretty famous local artist, the interchange artwork at the junction was his last design.

I hope you have a good visit. I have to brace myself for a visit with one of my sisters as well. Family, what are you going to do? You can’t pick them and you can’t kill them.

Congrats Wheelz! I know what you mean about it seeming like always and just happened. I hope you have a nice dinner.

I’m sure she’s the reason you are feeling better, kitty love always helps!

Welcome back! I’m looking forward to hearing all about your trip. How familiar are you with the Archosanti? I found out about it because I’d see references to it in SF books on occasion so did some research. Then we moved out here and I learned that the SF writers had it right.

…just about to hit the reply button when your post popped up FCM. Can you maybe get him to a doc-in-the-box to be checked for a UTI? I’m so sorry this is happening.

I only did 6 miles because the lupus arthritis, which is active even though the lupus is not, decided to come along for the fun of it. But I had a nice walk. I didn’t exactly find a new neighborhood, but I walked a street I’d never walked down before. And I saw ducks and geese and an adorable black lab puppy. Then I came home and had a blissfully hot bath.

Al Vocado’s leaves are withering again. I have no idea what to do other than provide basic care and offer encouragement.

flyboy, hope you’re right as rain by morning. In your case, it’s perfectly appropriate to kiss the nurse.

swampy, do you and OYKW have the same frames, or just variations on the ever-alluring Old Dudes style (which I’m sure you rock)?

Jane the Cane, someone has to take the night shift. My late, former MIL used to talk about the competition in her small town re: who could get wash on the line first on Monday mornings. This was supposed to somehow indicate who was the most industrious. Of course, at the end of the day everybody got about the same amount of work done.

FCM, I agree with Jane the Cane about checking for a UTI. My mother showed sudden signs of dementia, and we found out, much too late, that she’d had a UTI. UTI’s in the elderly don’t manifest as painful but can and do cause hallucinations. Worth checking out, IMHO, even if he does have a history of Parkinson’s hallucinations. It’s not like you can’t have both.

MetalMouse, glad you’re home. Did you get a chance to go to VooDoo Donuts in Portland? I understand the doughnuts are great, but the names will make you blush.

Happy Toosday!

It’s a beautiful day today. Bright, breezy, low humidity, 78 degrees.
The park was nice this morning, just us and Lucy though. Most everybody stopped coming.
It pisses me off.

I don’t eat jelly, jam, or preserves, so I have no idea if it is crumby or not. Probably not as my son is easily grossed out, so I’m sure he uses clean utensils.
Even more gross than crumby jelly, I read it as crumbly jelly, and wondered wth made it crumbly.

I forgot that yesterday was my son’s birthday, and when I remembered and told him Happy Birthday, he didn’t remember either. We got cards from my mother, a check in mine and a note that she bought him some stock in his.
I’ll probably use part of it to fix the basement sink.

Since the neighbor fixed her plumbing, my son finally got around to hooking up the hose to the dehumidifier so it could drain into the pipe instead of having to carry the bucket outside to dump it. It worked for a few days, but then he went down and found a puddle on the floor. Time to get a plumber in and fix the pipe.

Welcome home MetalMouse.

Happy Anniversary Whellie

I’m tired, going to bed soon.

Got up from naptime, went out and voted. I was 274. At 6:30pm. :grimacing: Having a Manhattan and watching Florida hockey.

“Not all who wander are lost” - J.R.R. Tolkien

You’re a good brother.

Choose, and perish?

I’m so sorry for him and for all of you. It’s so hard to watch people you know disappear in front of you.

Metal Mouse Welcome home!

It’s too late to change her nickname to “Bilbo” I’m guessing…
