A Mountains, Furniture, and Dogs MMP

OK, we have air conditioning again, altho we don’t need it today. (mid-60s!!) Turns out, one of the fuses on the outside box burned out. So the tech replaced both fuses and assured us that Trane is a really good product and our compressor is guaranteed for 5 years. So yay for that.

Then SIL got a job. Granted it’s just part-time to start, but it’s a start. Plus he got rid of his car, which he should have done before he left Florida.

And we ended the day with dinner at Cerro Grande - yum! Definitely better than tuna casserole.

Now we’re home. I get to go to work in the morning. Yay.

Is it Firday yet??

{{soapy}} Work blows. Sorry you didn’t get the position.

Note to self - the gays have spoken. Manpris Bad. Out of curiosity, what’s the verdict on mandals?

Home. The Boy is working late, as seems to be the norm lately (light at the end of the tunnel on June 5th… which is simultaneously too far away and yet much too close for different reasons)

Watered the garden, watered and fed the kittens, now pondering what to feed myself.

ETA: YAY Mooooooom on SIL finding himself a job! One down, one more to go.

The icing on today’s cake-- TMI

UTI, UTI, UTI: ouchie

UGH!

IIRC, donkeybear is a fashion rebel. Despite everyone’s wise counsel, he has, in the past, worn manpris and bought shirts that the MMP considered…ahem…not right for him. Don’t ask me why I remember this.

There is no way Nat oozes.

Glad SIL got himself a job, FCM. Sounds like a promising start.

Sorry about work, Soapy. Seems like work unhappiness is all over the place. Hopefully it will get better soon. Hope your work treats you better, Muppet.

I was kind of frustrated from work too (just general work malaise), so that’s why I decided to go for a walk.

Need to clean up because little brother will be here tomorrow and this place is…not pretty.

I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch…

I’ll be back later with whatever I forgot.

not much besides hugs-n-stuff to contribute except this -

I also HATE Rachel Ray

The capris took me a total of about 3 hours to make, which is sad considering I was working from a pair of pants, not raw fabric, but I so rarely sew that pinning them and getting them even took some doing. And then hand-sewing was also not very enjoyable, because my normal effort going into a project involves sewing buttons back on or patching small holes.

And they’re totally hot, everyone, FTR. They hug my curves in all the right places and still show off a bit of hairy manleg. :stuck_out_tongue:

But they’re partially for utility also. Shorts are forbidden under corporate dress code, and skirts are technically allowed, but store management has forbidden me to wear them, even though the dress code makes no distinction between male and female clothing. And I already tried playing the genderqueer card, but they say that unless I identify as an honest-to-goodness transsexual then I’m SOL. The women I work with are always cold, and will [del]bitch[/del] complain about having chill bumps unless the temperature is above 85 degrees. So I run from place to place counting drugs, red-faced and sweaty because the thermostat is always set to Satan’s Asscrack.

I’ve joked about filing a medical exemption to wear shorts, but I don’t think that’ll fly. I outfit myself with the finest Wal-Mart cotton V-neck t-shirts (in navy blue, of course) and hope for the best. Back hair sticking out of the back and everything.

Of course, I’m also the guy who is sitting in his room in his underwear with the AC cranked to eleven.

I have to be up in <6 hours for a long, boring meeting, so I’d best get going to bed. ::sigh::

(Also, I really want one of the mice on woot.com today but can’t justify 25 bucks for a mouse. Lookit how pretty they are though!)

Home from the gig. It was BellX1 and the opening band was Brooke Waggoner. Both were awesome - I’ll probably buy some songs off iTunes tomorrow.

Off to bed. Hugs all around.

I also hate Rachel Ray.

So much so that I say we tie her up, throw her on the floor, and pour warm oil all over her.

I’m sure that the warm oil part will annoy her to no end.

Yup.

Who’s with me?

Well, and my question to that always is, “what is appropiate?” This month we’ve been in an office that’s at more than 30C, yet our boss did a drive-by visit last week and wanted to know why we weren’t wearing long sleeves. I’ve told you before about my friend who got scolded for “dressing inappropiately at work” when she went to pick up her husband for lunch, right? She was dressed in a very wide and light dress with little pink, yellow and blue elephants…

She also happened to be on pre-maternal leave, as she was 8.5months pregnant and that’s not a time when one should be messing with organic solvents. And the guy scolding her still wins the prize for Worst Dressed Dude I’ve Seen Who Wasn’t Rooting Around In A Dumpster.

Li-li, glad your Dad is OK.

Ellen, the 1-y younger brother of a friend was once in a car accident, hit his head. It was Friday night; he’d been asleep in the back of the car when a moron in one of the earliest 4x4s out there T-boned them, leaving this guy in a coma. On Sunday, my friend was “on duty” at the ICU when he heard his brother say “what time is it?” “3pm on Sunday, how are you?” “Never mind me. Why isn’t the basket match on the TV, eh?”
When their Dad arrived for the next shift and asked how 2.son was, 1.son answered “same as always, which proves he doesn’t need his head :p”

For some people, “vital organs” just doesn’t include that body part used to support hats.
The first book in WoT is actually decent, the problem is that
1.- 150% of the characters are morons,
2.- “destiny” as an excuse for stupidity pisses me off,
3.- sometimes the whole thing moves at the speed of an arthritic hippie snail.

I wanted to drop off by book#4, should’a done it… :smack:

Urgh.

Morning.

The Google ad says “Man Nipples are Useless.”

I tried to read and catch up, but I’m not sure what that has to do with anything…

Ok, back to work here. Bye!

Before it disappears!

Captured for posterity:

Good morning kids!

Mornin’ all- night shift, thanks for holding down the fort!

Not going to work today-- I will sit on my deck and let blue skies and cool breezes cheer me up.

Today will be a better day, dammit!

gingerly dips toe into MMP thread

Hello, I brought some chocolate to help break the ice…

hands around chocolate

OOOOOOOH, chocolate! Some of the white goes to Nooner to help him survive his current work rush. Let me grab a bit of weight off your hands before the morning shift wakes up…

Can we call you sandy?

Hah- pushed you in! It’s the only way to get used to it

How about Beaches? (Sandra–> Sandy–> Beaches)?
I’ll hold onto Special1’s chocolate for him… really, it’ll be safe…

Didn’t you see the pronounce your screen name thread?

Let’s go monosyllabalic, just Zed.

Ooh, winner!

Works for me! Good Morning, Zed!

Ok, so as previously mentioned, I’m already at work and have been here since 5:30 this morning because there’s a breakfast leaving in about 10 minutes. Blech. Now, because I smell the strata, I’m STARVING!!! But the only things around that don’t require alot of effort (because I’m lazy) is a day old brownie that’s been left out overnight and some potato chips. And, while we’re on the subject, I looked at the potato chip bag yesterday and thought that it said, ‘NIPPLED.’ :smack:  (Thanks, beebs, for the quote.)

I’m up and about to go earn several hundred dollars. Perhaps if I look at work in that light, I’ll be happier in my current [del]enslavement[/del] position.
I feel a cold coming on–or allergies (I’ll take the cold, thankyouverymuch)

Fresh blood! aka Zed–ta for the choccies.
Here’s to a good Thursday for all–sickies, get over those UTIs, allergies, whathaveyous pronto.
