Only if you bring white chocolate.
I can’t wrap my head around the idea that I’m going to be leaving in two weeks.
I. Don’t. Wanna. Leave!
I also don’t wanna clean up the mess from last night.

Deal.
And it is no trifling matter that I’m willing to share white chocolate with anyone!
It’s that close already!? Wow, how time flies… I know how you feel, especially now that things suddenly seemed to be taking shape for you… I have a feeling that this year will just fly for you, and you’ll be back in the US before you know it.
Um, I don’t wanna be here!
(It’s 90F in my shop right now.)
Hi peoples. I’m not very energetic right now - but I have to get off my fat butt and go clean the guest bath. It will only take a half hour. Why am I so lazy???
McUne, we may have a deal on those photos, if you’re still interested. There’re wedding pics (fifties) and early to end of WWII. All family stuff. All Japanese family stuff.
Yes, I’m sure it’s historically interesting, there’s just so much of it- Dad’s family took lots of pics, and we’ve got all of those. I’ve been to the site where Dad’s family was interned. It would be quite nice, if you weren’t stuck in a log cabin and forbidden to leave, after having your house stolen.
Anyway, there’s lots of Nissei (Japanese Canadians) who have lots and lots of internment memorabilia. I think it would take a really dedicated scholar to dig through all of it.
Like I said many MMPs ago- I ain’t that pure.
Wait we’re Jewish- we don’t really believe in the devil. Cool!
**Ivory **-- it’s not as important to be first on the page, as to be first in someone’s mind

That one earns you chocolate.
I just got back from the market where I could only focus on doing half the shopping. Apparently you caught “teh lazy” from me…
LiLi, check your PM’s.
Everyone else! I need your fabulous advice!!
As some of you know I’m a scrapbooker. I’m thinking about making cards to sell. What I need to know is, if you were to buy handmade cards, what type of cards would you be most likely to buy? How much pay for them?
Here are a few examples, if you would like to peek, though I’m branching out a bit more. Those ones are older, I made them in November of last year.
Well, I did it! Yay me! And I already did the grocery shopping. Just a bit more between now and Thursday night, before company comes.
I’d also like to say that I’m glad my Dad is clean. He keeps his bathroom much nicer than my husband keeps ours!
I like the cards; they’re very pretty. (I’m not sure how much I’d pay for them, though - I tend to buy funny cards rather than serious cards.)
I feel slightly ill for some reason - maybe because I’ve had nothing but a couple of waffles all day. I should probably eat something.
WHEW - busy day!! We started out with breakfast and a trip to Lowe’s, after which we came home and started breaking up the basement floor. By about 1, the trenches were in place for the new plumbing, and the 4 of us showered and dressed and headed to Famous Dave’s for a late lunch. While we were there, my kid got a phone call/interview, and she was hired to be a counselor at the summer camp. She leaves Sunday, maybe sooner. They’ll pay her $200 a week and feed her. Not bad, huh? Of course, that leaves us with SIL for for the summer.
It’s raining again, and I’ve got laundry washing. Taz has been peeing all over all dirties, so I’ve got some gross clothes awaiting cleanliness. Stoopit cat. Anyway, the balance of my evening will be spent doing laundry. woo and hoo.
**tarra ** - congrats on 4 weeks!!!
Everybody else - I’m too tired to comment. Grab a hug and put yer feets up!
Pretty cards, McUne; I can see selling them in groups of 5, say, for $15 or $20 or something like that. Handmade cards should command more than the overpriced crap at the Hallmark store, I would think! But it really depends on your market; where would you sell them? Through a shop? At craft fairs? Online? One at a time? In groups? For profit or for charity?
Yes, I know I’m asking too many questions!
We went out shopping for a new washer & dryer this afternoon, and have figured out that no matter where you go, they get you somehow. One place? We can put it on a store charge with no interest for 18 months, but delivery & setup is a couple hundred bucks. Another place? No store financing so we’d pay interest on our credit card, but they gave us the price to the penny, including sales tax, for everything. It’s really aggravating trying to figure it all out. Except for the fact that I’ll get lovely new front-loading washer & dryer, and we’ll put them up on pedestals, and we’ll even get a rebate from our electric company for buying Energy Star™. It’s just a question of which, when, and how, etc. etc. etc. Papa Tiger has been doing research for the last hour, and we’ve picked the model; now we need to figure out who has the best deal, after factoring in all the nickel-and-diming-you-to-death crap! I suspect we’ll end up going with the small local company; interestingly, they’re competitive on price with the Big Boxes, and even considerably cheaper than one Big Box. I guess they have to be to survive.
And then I just had a very strange conversation – I called our landlord’s roommate about the broken AC and got his voicemail, so I called his mom, who was the alternate he gave us. And as luck would have it, while I was talking to her on the house phone, her son/our landlord was calling on the cell phone from Iraq! Poor guy, it was midnight there and he’d just gotten off work – he’s working looong hours. But at least we now have permission to go ahead and get someone to fix the AC and get reimbursed for it, which was all I was worried about. And it’s cooling down enough now that with two fans going in my office – one sucking air out the window, the other blowing air onto me – I’m moderately comfortable. But a three-way conversation with someone in Iraq was not what I was expecting!
Good Afternoon Y’all! It’s so hot and hyooooooomid out! I wish that would mean a big ol’ thunderboomer would be comin’ in later but the weather doesn’t say so. I went out to the pool but decided that I just did not want to stay out. Besides, I guess I should give my red belly, back and shoulders a break.
I had a nap after I got back from churchification. Ol’ y’all know who went home cause he had laundry and stuff to do. In a bit I’ll go to his place and we’ll go to that fine dinin’ establishment known as Three Squares Diner for supper. I just love it when takes me to a fancy place.
I would sell them online, possibly craft fairs (with other stuff), and also people at work have been asking if I would consider selling some. I was thinking for one at a time and in groups. It would be for profit, though I wouldn’t make too much off a card.
I was thinking $2-$3 a card, but people have said that is too cheap. Though the more embellishments on it (those don’t have many at all) it would be a bit more.
Ceremony went smoothly; the principal interrupted the proceedings to castigate those who couldn’t keep their mouths shut and asked us all to respect the saying (and hearing) of all the names. Since it was 800+ names, this made it long. I was glad he did so, though–there are just some trashy peoples in the world, ya know?
Off to an early dinner with my inlaws and fambly. The older 2 kids want to attend this one party (the older child/host is a graduate; his younger brother is a friend of #1 son). So, hopefully, all of the mayhem and chaos will be done with by 8pm, whereupon I will get in my jammies and sleep…
I just realized we didn’t get Daughter a present for today. She’s getting a laptop, so that’ll have to do. I just like presents to be there on the day–childish of me, probably.
Happy Sunday night, all.
I think you should start at $5 a card – heck, you can easily pay $3 and up for an ugly storebought card, why not ask people to pay a bit more for your lovely work? Stress the fact that each one is unique, and they’d be very popular, I suspect!
Thanks for your vote of confidence MamaTigs. I appreciate the advice!!
I might even buy a few myself to send to my mom and MIL and such; I know they’d appreciate them. Or even to give to them as gifts. They’d love them!
Well, I’m back home now.
McUne, I think your cards are beautiful and $2-$3 is way too cheap.
Hmmm… sat here a few minutes and couldn’t think of anything else to say. So I guess that’s it!
Also, Hi Noonie! (Did I ever mention that one of my dogs has the nickname ‘Roonie’?
Just wanted to mention that I’m in Bizarro World right now. My mom is watching Wayne Dyer and my dad isn’t.
