A Mountains, Furniture, and Dogs MMP

I think my spirea is dying. :frowning: We’ve been watering it regularly every day for the past two weeks as per the woman at the garden centre (well, except for the days that it rained enough to take care of the watering for us), but it’s still looking quite wilty and downright ragged in parts.

It’s sticky, hot and humid, like walking through a sauna. And no thunderstorms yet. When did it become late July all of a sudden???

beebs, you’re a weirdo. A loveable one, tho.

Miss me? I got most of the day off. Got the new PC set up, just have to migrate files now. I forgetted my Dope password, so I haven’t posted in two days.

beebs, that was an odd one.

FCM, what is a weekend? I think you made the right choice of word to SiL.

donkeybear, no worries. I prefer my dates prostate free.

Great OP, MamaTigs. It kinda looks like South Dakota.

Here is the installed door. It’s so purty! Home Depot was quite cooperative, and promised to contact the manufacturer and see what can be done. Color me surprised!

We bought a bunch of bedding and stuff for my brother’s visit next month, to go on the futon. It makes into a full size bed. It’s kind of hard, though, so I bought a fluffy thick mattress pad thingie, as well as sheets and a comforter. I hope they’ll be comfy!

I haven’t done anything else cleaning-wise… There’s always next weekend. <sigh>

Kebabs are a-waiting grilling, see y’all tomorrow!

ETA: I had to add the fact that I did clean up the back yard AND I mowed it - so I’m not as big a slug as I thought!

:dubious: Well, except for the mountains and stuff. :dubious:

My lousy night’s sleep last night is catching up with me. I’d really, really love to just crawl in bed, watch a little mindless TV, and give up for the night. Instead, I am forcing myself to hang in there till I (hopefully) get a second wind and get more stupid work done this evening. Money is good, but sometimes sleep is better, y’know?

I’m sorry. :frowning:

{{{beebs}}}

I think my day has been better. Minimal crying. Even a little bit of work getting done.

Yay for new puter and door and plants and other stuff.

A good time was had by all. We had a really good homemade lemon icebox pie. I love a good lemon icebox pie! MMMMMMMMMMM!!! Everybody’s gone home and I’m considerin’ just lyin’ in bed and watchin’ teevee for a bit. Think I’ll take some more night time knockout cold meds just to be on the safe side.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Yeah, they’re looking pretty old these days too.

I think FCM is #1 with a bullet in the running for Mumper Saint! Sure hope SIL gets it together right quick and scores some employment–I’ve been in situations with roommates who’d rather play computer games than get a job and it’s pretty stressful, I imagine it’d be worse if it were a relative. Fingers crossed for daughter getting her teaching job and SIL being sensitive to hints!

beebs, you’re a weirdo. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, mind you!

Nice door, DoRe!

Geez, Haze, does That Guy figure that VH isn’t gonna twig sooner or later? What if she sees you two lookin’ friendlier than is normal for you? Yeah, stay away from the hot stuff and if it looks like VH is drinking a bit much, BAIL OUT!

Glad you is more better, Pie, keep it up!

Altho I will always be a NY gal, SF is certainly in my top 3 US cities.

eta - I’d love to get back some day - unfortunately that city is not built for arthritic folk.

Pretty door, Rebo.

Your spirea might just be in transplant shock, still, Muppet. Don’t give up yet. (And make sure you’re not overwatering; sometimes that makes things wilt too. If the soil is still damp, don’t water any more…)

Glad you had a better day today, Pie. Hang in there.

Sorry about the bad dream, beebs.

Off to get ready for beddie bye…

GT

MamaTigs, there are mountains in SD(or at least really big hills)

rosie, I like SF, too.

Nice door, Rebo.

Almost forgot to say: there was a rainbow when I was leaving the grocery store. The sun was starting to go down, so the sky was quite gray and there was a large pastel arc across it. Biggest rainbow I’ve ever seen and only complete arc. By the time I got home (maybe 2 minutes later), it was mostly gone. I ran out to take a picture, but don’t know yet if it came out.

Off to bed really now…

I’d also submit that we should change the title of this MMP to reference the swan.
The angry swan seemed like a very important part of the story.

swampy, RECIPE! I love lemon pie in all its forms.

beebs, that sounds like the dreams I had when I was on Chantix. Lots of fun, that drug.

I was pretty productive today. I woke up right before noon, went floating the river with the roommates, hit on a clueless boy with a bear paw tattoo, then terrified a little girl in a gas station with my hulking, hairy shirtless self. Came home, went to eat Chinese food, then cleaned my room, vacuumed, and steam-cleaned my carpet, and did all of the laundry piling about.

Now I am the only non-stoned person in my house, I think. Off to peruse the intarwebs more.

Big hills, yes, but since the highest point in SD is Harney Peak at 7,242 feet, whereas Idaho’s highest tops out at 12,662. plus it has eight other 12,000+ foot peaks, plus at least 16 other 10,000+ peaks, it’s really not much of a comparison. Central and northern Idaho is REMOTE. There are places in the Idaho wilderness that have probably yet to be explored. So having seen far more of South Dakota than I’d like to (especially the time we drove across it in the summer in a car without AC where the temp was 105° and I had infections in both ears – yeah, that was a fun trip  ), I honestly have difficulty making the comparison. But then, I’m a mountain freak; I grew up around them, and spent a lot of time in Northern Idaho going to camps and such when I was a kid.

Feel free to ask the mods. Something tells me they might not consider the angry swan quite as important as we (and particularly snowbunny, who has to run the gauntlet past him every time she goes to work) think he is!

I finally got my second wind. Now I just want to get a big chunk of this job done so I can go to bed!

Drrrrruuken post msuhahahahaha

Bery litte drama tonght. srrrry To disaapoint eeryone. :stuck_out_tongue:

Haze, I know why I’m up – it’s 10:30 AM.
Why are you up? And do you need company?

Beebs, weird dream!

Pie, glad you day was better.

Assorted yays, boos, hugs and kisses all around… and I have to put my nose back to the grindstone.

But Nooner, your poor nose!

It’s big enough to stand losing a bit; I am Jewish, after all (even if I look more Scots/Irish, to the casual observer :))

Tired.
