A self-hijacked MMP

ha ha ha - you made a funny joke!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve quit yard work for the day. I cleared out all the dead hosta parts, raked the big front bed, removed a lop-sided, almost dead azalea, almost removed a skeletal dead evergreen (we’ll need to yank the last of it out with the truck, and planted two big clumps of daylilies. I also rode the mower over all the stuff I raked out of the flower bed to mulch it up before I break out the mulcher-vac.

So the front of the house is starting to shape up. And once we yank out what’s left of the evergreen and take down a small tree beside it, I’m going to turn that whole section of the hill into a daylily bed. Then I just have to decide where to put the last of the coneflowers and black-eye susans. Oh, and the clematis that I dug up from the back are going by the mailbox. I need to take a few bricks and line a small bed there.

**FCD **called while I was working, and I didn’t get to the phone in time, but when I checked the caller ID, I saw the name of my in-laws former pastor and long-time friend. Naturally, I thought something disasterous had happened to the inlaws. But no, all is fine. In fact, he’s visiting with them right now. I bet he just programmed our number into his cell and accidentally called.

Lemon-meringue pie will be delayed a bit - I don’t have enough lemon juice. So I asked my sweetie to grab a couple of lemons when he stops for sour cream. Meanwhile, I’m going to pretend I’m a big-shot TV cook and measure out all my ingredients into little bowls, so when he gets here, I can get the pie together quickly. I’m going to bake the shells shortly (one for today, one for Thanksgiving.) Then maybe I’ll cut up the onions and mushrooms to go with the ribeyes. Yummeriffic dinner to be had today.

And I get my car back this afternoon - YAAAAAAAAAY!!!

{{{Soapy and BBBobbio}}} cause it looks like y’all could use it.

Dindin will be bbq poke sammiches (made from last night’s leftover poke roast), coleslaw and fries.

That is all.

I killded the MMP!

Dindin is et. Ice cream in the near future.

I have my car back - YAY!!

I’ve got an oven full of baking N.O.T. - daughter had asked for baked N.O.T. soup, so twice-baked may not happen. We shall see. But the big dinner isn’t happening tonight - I can’t eat after 7 - I’ll be up all night. So I made **FCD **eggs and bacon and toast, and he has a happy tummy.

I’m about to assume the knit position. It’s been a tired, achy day…

Yay on the car retrieval fcm!

bobbio & StG…you need to kick some universe ass I think

Did a bunch of interviews today, caught up on paperwork etc. Tonight will be lazy night. I had planned on pork loin wrapped in bacon for dinner but neither of us is hungry so it will be grab a snack if you want it.

New patio doors were installed today by the very very cute carpenter who installed our other door. mr ems laughs at my little carpenter crush but man is that guy cute. And ripped. And an all round nice guy to. Successfully runs his own business. And he isn’t married. Quite the catch there someone is missing out on.

Anyways…no plans for the weekend at all. I just have to make it through next weeks trip then I am home for 2 weeks. Yay!

Laters!

Soapy, I’ve been there, too often it seems. I’m sending big hugs to you. I know it’s not much, but it’s all I can give for now. Are you talking to someone? Hang in there girl, and if anything I’m here via email, or on the boards.

Bobbio, big hugs to you too! It seems like you’ve had more than your fair share of bad crap happening.

Well, we have some great news and some bad news. Hubby and the kids were coming out to get me last night when they were in a car wreck. All three of them went to the hospital to be checked out. Our son had a bruised hand and our daughter and my hubby had a bruised back, but they’re all okay. The bad news is that we don’t know if the car can be repaired. It sounds like cosmetic damage except for the radiator, which will need to be replaced. We don’t know if they’ll try to fix or total the car yet.

The great news: hubby got the results back from his bone marrow biopsy, and there is no sign of cancer in the bone marrow. He is officially stage 1, with the only sign of cancer in the one lymph node. So he starts chemo next Friday: he’ll go through three rounds of chemo, then radiation. And it’s all outpatient. Next Friday we go up to the office, and he’ll be going into chemo for about five hours. We can take the laptop, snacks and stuff: they have a TV, and he and I can spend a little quality (?) time together. I’m very grateful that this is all it is. Mantle cell lymphoma is not usually caught in stage 1.

That’s excellent news on hubby, Annie! Sorry about the car wreck, but glad all are OK.

Hugs for Bobbio, Soapy and StG.

Sorry about the work pettiness, rosie. Hope a new opportunity comes up soon for you.

Have watched Harry Potter 3 again, with brother and nephew and am now officially exhausted. I’m sure there was more I was going to say, but…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Home, dogs walked, dinner is et, relaxing.

Yay for hubby, Annie!!

Yay for your hubby, Annie! - And though it’s frustrating to hear “at least no one was hurt”, thank God your family is okay. I know the car accident sucks, but it could’ve been so much worse. My sister finished chemo and radiation for breast cancer a few years ago, only to be told during that treatment that she had thyroid cancer. Three years and 5 surgeries later and she’s cancer-free.

doggio - is there hockey tomorrow?

StG

It’s an away game verses Montreal. I guess I won’t be on speaking terms with mnemosyne tomorrow.

[pinches GT’s butt]

Thanks for the low-carb smoothie recipe, Rebo; that was exactly what I needed! I may even add a little protien powder to it. And yes, FCM, I will be keeping it healthy, I promise.

{{{{{{{{{{Soapy}}}}}}}}}}}

I’m up way too early for a Saturday morning, but I’ve got some errands to run today and I’m using this time for a bit of quiet time for myself. It looks like my Dad is recouperating, albeit slowly - I guess that’s expected at his age (81); he certainly sounds stronger, although still coughing just not as badly. My son will hopefully be coming home at Christmas time for about 6 days. He’s taking Greyhound, most of his time will be spent on the bus! But it will be great to see him, that’s for sure.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Yay for the good hubby news Annie! Boo for the car but no serious injuries is a good thing.

MMMMMM’s as long as you don’t drool on the carpenter, there’s no harm in lookin’.

We’re havin’ MOG, her son and DIL over for an early dindin. Nuttin’ fancy. Roast beast with gravy, green beans, smashed N.O.T., deviled aigs, rolls and a mandarin orange cake. Also we’ll be givin’ son and DIL the baby present we bought, a couple of outfits along with a Pooh, Tigger and Roo. Every baby needs a Pooh, Tigger and Roo, right?

Ow! What was that? :dubious:

tarra, I use plain non-fat yogurt to make mango or strawberry lassis all the time. I do about 1/2 fruit and 1/2 yogurt and then add a little bit of sugar. I add a little bit of cardamom to the mango ones. If it’s too thick, you can add a bit of milk. Both are very yummy.

Am awake already, even though I shouldn’t be…I think it was 1:00 when I fell asleep.

Hmmm…to get up or not to get up?

GT

OMG! I was gonna say that! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hee. GMTA, of course.

So, gt and Rosie, the first thing y’all do before even gettin’ outta bed is post to the MMP? Talk about hardcore! :stuck_out_tongue:

The magic of WiFi!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Gonna watch hockey at the Bistro tonight.

and this surprises you why?
