A very interesting MMP

Welcome to the world Thomas! Congrats LiLi, Mr. Lissar and Gnat!

Ruble what we need to do is school Gnat in big brotherhood. There are important lessons he must learn. Those of us who are big brothers need to fill him in on the Sooper Sekreet Book of Big Brotherhood.

Puggy appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed.

gotti same for DH. Maybe they do realize he’s the right one for the job.

I gots veggie soup simmerin’ away for tomorrow night’s soup 'n sammich supper at church. Yes, I did volunteer to bring soup. Remember, I have no sense. I also advised the sammich maker that pimento cheese sammiches are fine but it cannot be with store boughten pimento cheese. That is just wrong!

Ok, gonna go rustle up some dindin cause I’s commencin’ to be a little hongrified.

Yay for baby!! But the length definitely has to be a typo. 8# and 34"? Only if she gave birth to an eel or something… Thomas is a good name. I had a teacher in Jr High whose first name was Thomas. I had *such *a crush on him - he was a hunk!

I have new siding! Well, some new siding. They’re still pounding out there. No idea how long they’ll work today or how much they’ll get done, but things are moving forward. At this rate, we’ll be all done this week. YAY!

Poke loin in the oven in a white wine marinade, altho it really didn’t marinate since I found the recipe too late. So it’s just cooking in wine. It smells good, tho. Now I just need to work out the sides - smashed N.O.T. perhaps? And peas-n-carrots? Yeah, that sounds tasty and healthy.

My mandatory training for tomorrow was resked for next week - now I’ve got 3 days in a row of mandatory training. rah. Two of the days, it’ll keep me late. Oh well - I can amass a little credit time.

I can haz weekend? Pleez??

A certain OYKW needs to get his butt to da cave soonest! I am makin’ my version of Philly Cheesesteaks with the leftover pot roast from last night and I’s hongry! I just sauteed up a mess o’ peppers and onions and it smells soooooo gooooood!

KT said he wanted to go to the soup supper at church tomorrow (Well, to be accurate, I said I wanted to go sometime, and last night he said “How about this week?” But the fact that he’s initiating is a huge difference from his complete avoidance of the church building a few years ago.) so I’ve got some rye bread rising in the fridge since last night so I can bake it tonight to take tomorrow. We’re both really hoping that the woman who usually makes borscht is there. She makes good borscht.

Whoohoo - COngrats on the new little one to all the Lissar’s!

taxi that linky to the Gibbon was super cute…awww

Paris is on strike…public transport has been challening today

One day closer the weekend - this week is tough already!

Happy Thomas Day!!!

Dindin is now et. 'Twas good if’n I do say so myself.

Plus, I feel so popular! Over the course of the past thirty minutes I have had three calls from people wantin’ to make sure they were not too late to sign up for fish 'n chips on Firday, one call from somebody who asked if it was too late for her husband and her to sign up for tomorrow’s soup 'n sammich and, are y’all ready for this, a call from YP asking me if I would be a Lector for Easter Sunday. He even said, “I promise it’ll be the right one this time!”

taxi yay on KeithT wanting to go. MMMMM… homemade rye bread. Are we talkin’ real borscht? Real borscht is good and one of two ways I will eat beets. A hot bowl of borscht (that’s real borscht to me) with a big ol’ glop of sour cream in it is nummy!

In the meantime there are pics on her blog. Also Mr. Lissar reports that he thinks Thomas might be 21" long; he says everyone is tired, but doing well. PM me if you don’t know where her blog is and are a regular Mumper… If not, I’m sure she’ll be home soon and share a link herself.

Welcome, Thomas!!!

I wonder what Nat’s thinking about having a little brother… Saw something about the new Dr. Who emerging from the Tardis the other day and my first thought was of Nat.

Yay for DH; hope this means they threw the other guy out and are planning to hire him.

Lots and lots and lots of good vibes heading your way, Puggy. Glad to hear the job sounds like a good fit. Seems like a good sign that the interview lasted a while. ::crosses appendages::

I discuss politics in detail with maybe 5 people in the world. And not in a public forum. Cheer up, Bobbio! That’s an order.

Bread is out of the fridge, coming back to room temp.

Work was chaotic, but I think I got quite a bit done. (Sometimes it’s hard to tell.)

Debating what to have for dinner.

Hugs.

GT

Why? Why do that to a kitteh? (no animals harmed, just humiliated)

The north side of the house is done, as is most of the back - the siding looks good! These guys are doing a really nice job!

They should finish tomorrow. Then gutters. Then that’s all. I am very pleased. The house is looking good!!

And yay for new siding and gutters, FCM.

Next loaf of Italian bread is cooling. Smells promising.

Back later.

GT

Ok. That is some messed up shit right there.

Congratulations, Li-Li!!

Welcome to the world, **Thomas! ** Congrats to the Lissar family!

Yay for the new siding and gutters, FCM!

Keeping my fingers crossed for DH, gotti.

Survived another day. That’s about it.

First, congrats on the new addition Lissar family! Thomas is a lovely name that should be more popular.

And on to the mundane and pointless: I got called “Honey” by a pharmacist tonight. I think it’s probably because I was buying two boxes of tissues (with lotion,) two kinds of antihistamine, and my nose is just a shade less red than the strawberries I picked at the farm in summers past. “Have a nice night, Honey.” Oh, I’ll try. But as I keep explaining to people, I don’t have a cold, I have tree and mold allergies, and those guys are all thrilled by the several inches of rain we’ve gotten repeatedly the last three weeks. At least with a cold I could reasonably expect my nose to stop running and to stop sneezing in a couple of days!

Ok, it’s time to get splattered by the blue goo. I bought some more old silverware today at a flea market and I find that it’s easier to work with if I polish it before working with it. (Actually, I end up polishing it about 3 times before it’s all over with.) I don’t have the energy to go through the whole process, but I can at least get this step done.

I also got to take a peek at my grandmothers’ silver service today, too. It’s a very ornate pattern, quite lovely.

Good article on facebook privacy settings.Explains how to set things up (and why to keep things private) and links to other articles on privacy.

Ok, I polished silverware with my Dremel for as long as my arm could stand it and I made it through 25 pieces. Not too bad, I guess.

I hope I can convince myself to head to bed soon.

I just spent a few minutes researching some of this silverware. It’s amazing what people are trying to sell on eBay for about 5 times what I paid for it at a flea market. I guess it should see if it works and stop wasting my time bending them if it does! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay there’s a baby!

Boyfriend will probably be back next weekend - work has been harrassing him about his absence (to be fair, he’s been gone almost a month now, but other teachers have taken longer absences before). I think he’s torn between being nervous about his dad and wanting to come back to his life here (all his friends are here, after all, as well as his job).

I’ve made reservations for a place to stay in Philadelphia - nice little B&B. Still haven’t bought tickets for Dallas-Philly or made plans as to where I’m going to stay in NYC. Hopefully one of my friends will put up with me for a few days. NYC is EXPENSIVE.

Ok, I’m really going to bed now. I just spent several minutes I’ll never get back researching silverware patterns. One of the sets that I bought today is from 1941 and another is from 1910.
