Why is our office so darn hot? I’m about to die from a heatstroke in here.
I’m amazed those cats’ humans are still alive. If you do that to a pet, you have no right to complain when said pet devours your cooliing corpse.

Later today I get to transport eight quarts of veggie soup to church. Big Tupperware (ok, Tupperwarish cause they ain’t made by Tupperware) bowls are a good thing! I figure that should get it there safely without spillage. I can put the soup in a big pot and warm it up. Or leave it cold and call it gazpacho. 
Nah, I’ll warm it up. Kitchen fridge is full o’ soup right now.
Rumbly tummy demands to be fed so I shall. Then I must commence work purtification.

I had a scary stalker this morning on my commute (France public transport is back up and running again. Whoohoo!). Very weird.

Morning all, up and caffeinating here too. Mid-week for me, two more days after today, woo hoo! This morning, I’m going to pick up my new eyeglasses, then in to work. I suspect it will be a LONG day for me. Oh well, at least new glasses will be had.
I will have to check out pics of BabyThomas when I get to work, 'cause that’s where I have LiLi’s blog bookmarked, of all places. Congrats to the entire Lissar family, btw!
I have calmed my rumbly tummy with a small low fat cottage cheese and a small banana (lest anyone think I am gobbling up those -huge- ones!). I do love the cottage cheese, strange as that sounds.

How do you keep the cats from shredding their wigs to bits?
Water aerobics has once again taken a toll on me and I feel as though I’ve been run over by a herd of cats who are running away from their wigs. Ugh.

Let me start off by saying my running snit is almost over. The issues haven’t resolved themselves by any means; instead, I’ve run out of the energy and enthusiasm necessary to maintain it.
That said, I have a new grump cooking of a recreational nature. Recreational in a couple of contexts… Y’all know of my obsession for trains, big and small. I’ve had a thing since my age was in single digits for a particular rail line that runs through the town where I grew up, and have always wanted to build a layout representing it.
As I got older and into college age, I switched allegiances and became enamored of a different prototype prevalent in the south. I also began following the works of a modeler who wrote articles about that same new railroad, and built artistically beautiful models of the same.
Well, yesterday, I picked up a magazine with an article written by that guy, only to find that not only has he moved to the town where I grew up, but he’s built a gorgeous layout of that first love rail line, having given up on the railroad I like now.
Harrumph.
I have a recipe for y’all to consider. So easy, even Swampy can make it.
Bobbio’s Stuffed Jalapenos (and more)
1 lb. bulk sausage
1 lb. fresh jalapeno peppers (about a dozen if thumb sized)
1 block cream cheese (or Neufchatel)
1 package shredded parmesan cheese
Powdered garlic to taste
Cook the sausage, chop it up fine, and drain. Add the cream and parmesan cheese, retaining a tablespoon or two of the parmesan.
Cut the ends off the jalapenos, split them lengthwise, and remove the seeds and membrane. Add about a teaspoon of the sausage mixture to the peppers, and mold to fit the cavity. Sprinkle garlic and the retained parmesan cheese over the tops, and bake at 425F for 20-25 minutes until the filling is browned a bit and the peppers are soft. Nom nom nom.
VWife uses the same stuffing on French bread, and I’ve tried talking her into using it to stuff mushrooms (I personally hate mushrooms). If you like spice, try hot sausage instead.
Just took delivery (finally) of a dozen 7oz. cans of chipotle chilis in adobo sauce. Stand by for Southwest Sauce creation …
I have a similar recipe, BBBobbio, except no sausage and the peppers are wrapped in bacon. Takes forEVER to make but they disappear very quickly once served.
Boyfriend comes home next next Monday.

In other news, I hate Dell with the fiery heat of a billion suns. Twice in two months, they’ve either delivered or tried to deliver things to us (one laptop, one printer), and when they couldn’t get delivered, called us at the WRONG number, didn’t reach us, so canceled the orders, making us re-order things.
Now, yesterday, they tried to tell us that the old ink jet cartridges that we bought previously for the old printer, ya know the one that’s not compatible with the new laptop, making us buy the new printer we didn’t get delivered also? Well, we couldn’t return them for credit, even though they still sell them!!!.
All fixed now, but why make me go through all that?
My sister once described a horse doover/fair food item called a torpedo, which was a jalapeno stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon, then grilled. I tried making them as described, and between leaving the peppers whole, and using hot sausage as the stuffing, they were nearly inedible.
I gotta try this with bacon wrapping and using the oven instead of the grill.
