Agreed.
Does Haley bawl the whole time during the singout?

Rockle: Nor that Marc Anthony is an Adonis…
Not the handsomest man around, some say. For me, though, I find him sexy anyways (Marc)…
Country week should be interesting next week.
Somebody Up There must be looking out for Phil. He’s been in the bottom three, what, every single week?
I’m not surprised about Haley. She’s the weakest of the three, IMO.
There was a part of me hoping that Chris would be sent home. There’s something about him I can’t quite put a finger on that rubs me the wrong way.
If by “interesting” you mean “sucky,” I agree with you.
Finally it’s twang time again, hmm? What in the world are the boys going to do with that?
Don’t forget when she actually asked Diana Ross for advice (whether she should have a mic stand or not) and then did exactly the opposite of what Diana said.
I do.
Hate country music.
Paula was smashed. Smashed. Last night too, but tonight… smashed. Her eyes were bloodshot, and I thought at one point they were going to roll back into her head. She couldn’t even form a complete sentence.
Lakisha’s dress last night… It was so tight that it looked like boobs in the back. Who is doing this to her, and why is she allowing it? Maybe she’s just refusing to take their advice.
Melinda’s worst is better than anyone else’s best. Her voice sounds like fine chocolate.
Phil seemed shocked that he wasn’t booted. Haley was a good sport. Chris seemed out of place among the bottom three. Michael Jackson Jr should have been there.
I have a newfound respect for Jennifer Lopez. I’ll probably never be a big fan or anything, but I won’t ever carelessly disparage her again.
Oh, and Blake. I like his voice. It has a sort of Phil Collins quality. Plus, I like how he sings. I noticed tonight that I could hear his and Jordin’s voices distinct from the crowd during the opening group number.
I did like the way Seacrest picked on Sanjaya tonight – especially since Sanjaya was a willing participant. It was teasing without a sting to it, which was nice, and definitely a tacit acknowledgment of all the Sanjaya furor.
I have the TV running right now and Leno is on, and in his monologue he “translated” the Spanish Sanjaya sang last night. I wish I’d written it down because I can’t remember it, but I’m sure someone will have it up on Youtube shortly. It was hilarious!
I’m not sorry to see Haley go. She was totally in over her head, and her shorts were getting shorter every week. (Not that the men object, from what I gather.) But I really wish Phil would go. His voice has a tone to it that just works my last nerve – it’s like it’s too smooth or something. He sounds like he’s singing from the bottom of a well, or maybe from up inside that shiny round head. But it really jarred during the group sing – his voice not only wasn’t the kind of voice that blends, but really sounded awful next to everyone else’s.
Yowza. Not reading the thread yet - AI’s just started here - but I used to like the group numbers. How Muzak. How bleached. How to take a lively Latin samba and kill it dead. How can so many relatively youthful people be so lacking in energy and zip? Gads.
Dio, you can join me in kicking Hal for throwing Chris a bunch of votes in order to get Haley voted off.
What is it with Chris? Am I hearing something different from everyone else? I think he’s been really sucking the past few weeks yet the judges and some people here seem to think he ssounds good. I think he’s often off key and … ugh, I don’t have enough adjectives, he’s just sucky. It looks like I’ll probably have to put up with him a couple more weeks since it looks like Phl’s turn next week.
Country … ugh!
Hey, we might end up missing a Kellie Pickler or a Bucky!
I’ve got Phil with almost a 2-1 likelihood of going home next week.
I agree with all three bottom choices and the send home. And forgot to mention that Blake’s outfit last night looked like something you’d see a 78 year old semi-retired tort lawyer wearing on a Florida golf course. And why do I want Seacrest to have a scandal that will make Imus’s look tame? I just have a neurotic hatred for the guy.
My predictions for Country Week:
Melinda and Jordin will be totally back in form as I can see either of them tearing up some country heartbreak ballads; Lakisha could go either way- great voice but just an intrinsic arrogance to her that makes self-deprecating songs like country not seem real, but she’s safe for at least two more weeks. Chris might redeem himself a bit since country would seem a whole lot more comfortable to his style, but Phil will be back on active duty in two weeks because I can’t imagine him doing well and the mob has already deserted him three weeks in a row. Blake will probably do extremely well by taking a country standard and making it unrecognizable (I mean that in a good way) and Sanjaya will have a Billy Ray mullet and wind up in the bottom 3, but not get voted off.
And let’s start a money-free pool and see who gets it right: in what order will the seven the von Trapp Idols leave during the So Long, Farewell weeks?
Here’s my vote (in order from next voted off to the winner):
7- Phil
6- Jordan (an upset)
5- Chris
4- Sanjaya
3- Lakisha
2- Melinda (who will be a super successful runner up, but not as big as Daughtry)
'07 Idol: Blake (who will be the most successful champion in years and start gay rumors so fierce they make Clay Aiken’s gay rumors look like Richard Gere’s gay rumors)
Your list looks almost like mine, Sampiro, but with two changes. First, switch LaKisha and Jordin. Second, Melinda will win over Blake, because the majority of people will not vote for a white man over a black woman. The only time a man won out over a woman in the final 2 was last year, and they were both white. The only time a white person won over a black person was never.
Melinda must, just must, do “Crazy”.
Oh good, someone agrees with me!
He’s always struck me as one of the weaker singers – not quite as weak as Haley or Sanjaya, but hovering somewhere in the area.
I also don’t think he’s got a Justin Timberlake vibe, despite what Ryan and the media say. Justin’s more…what, polished? I’m not sure. I could see Chris in a boy band, though.
He just doesn’t wow me. I thought he butchered “Smooth” within an inch of its life. He performance on Tony Bennett Week has been his best so far. I have a feeling he’s not going to duplicate it.
