Blake, Blake, Blake … you’re dressed like a tool. You look like a refugee from some goofy boy band. And not one of the good ones, either. Fire your stylist. Also, what song are you singing? Should I know this song?
Simon was right. Blake is the only one who’s been halfway decent tonight. And it’s not like he was great, but at least he had a good tone and was (mostly) in tune. I liked that he sang the song straight and just let his voice show; he has a really solid and pleasant voice.
Bravo Blake! I think that’s the most entertaining number I’ve seen so far tonight, and I’m really not into Keane.
I like Blake, so I’m glad the judges were nice to him, but when they “hear it back,” as Simon says, they’re going to hear the pitch problems. I’m sure he’ll be safe, though. He’s been far from the suckiest tonight.
Does this mean I can feel relatively young and hip that I know this song and even listened to it today? (Please? It’s been a while…)
Gavin DeGraw should sue.
So far Blake is the only one that I thought wasn’t terrible!
Sanjaya is in key, at least, but what’s with all these slow tempo songs tonight?
OK, please be honest with me: Am I really this old, or are these songs really this crappy? (Oh, it’s Stevie. I should have known that. Shame on me.)
Sanjaya’s hair is pretty, but I think he’s singing a song older than I am.
Sanjaya is the best singer so far in terms of being on key and such…but man, “I don’t wanna bore you with this”? Mission failure.
ETA: Damn, first Paula, now Simon’s stealing my lines!
Sanjaya was boring.
Okay, are we the only ones who liked Sanjaya? I really liked the song and thought he gave a beautiful, gentle performance. And his pitch was amazingly good for an Idol contestant!
Sandy is cute and his voice is pleasant. I liked him second best so far. Now that’s damning with faint praise.
Does anyone else think Blake looks like Jere Burns?
He’s by far the best so far. I like that song.
I’m thinking a younger, urban Neil Patrick Harris.
Ok, Blake can actually sing. And the clips of his beatboxing sound cool.
The Indian kid. Is it OK if I just call him Fez? Next week it may not matter.
Um, Sanjaya can’t do Stevie?
Isn’t “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” Stevie too? Sanjaya killed that song in the auditions.
No, but I think Sanjaya looks like Donny Osmond circa 1971.
Finally, a good performance! Way to go, Chris.
