an early yet hurried MMP

Well, if it wasn’t before it probably is now!

Whew, it’s finally cooling down, yay! I was totally scientific about heat management today and did really well, only a couple hours with noticeable sweatiness and then it cooled off enough in the back yard to move out there. I have all the fans pulling cool air in, fresh ice in the R2D2 unit, and the crispest Egyptian cotton sheets imaginable on the bed.

Couldn’t even imagine trying to cook in this heat, dinner for me was roasted garlic hummus and tortilla chips, along with sliced strawberries mixed up with chopped banana, mmmm… Earlier I had strawberries on cheesecake and that was mindblowingly good. Oregon strawberries are the best in the world, and that’s just a fact!

I pinned SpaceDawg down and got the shed comb into her something fierce to get rid of as much of her leftover fur as possible. I got the mats out of her ears, got the feathers on her butt combed out and did a pretty bangup job on the rest of her. She’s shedding kinda late this year and should have been done by now, but not so much. Got a ginormous hair pile out of her that had to be raked up–anybody wanna knit some puppies? Then to cool all the dogs down I refilled their kiddie pool and sprayed the backyard and them with the shower attachment on the hose. They don’t like to be sprayed directly, but if it’s like rain they’re okay with it and they love to sprawl on the wet grass. I think tomorrow is gonna be Dog Wash Day…

Hmm, I think I can sleep pretty soon… g’night!

Morning all. Back at work and wishing I was someplace else. Sigh …

You and me both… :frowning: And almost everybody else is off to some training on new Management Methods or somesuch…

**Ivory **-- not sure how I managed to forget about the Snuts! As for the Ivory Guy – I remember seeing a photography shop, way back when dinosaurs and film cameras roamed the Earth, that advertised themselves as the place one (supposedly female…) should frequent because they would “find their Prints Charming there.”

<yawn> 'mornin…

It occurred to me as I was recovering just now from the latest BSOD, that the computer started acting up the other day when we had some funky power issue. The lights were not quite flickering, but they were changing intensity most noticeably. **FCD ** put his multimeter on the incoming power line and it was fluctuating - I suppose that coulda done something, huh? I’m wondering if reinstalling XP would make it all happy again??

Once the menfolkses get up, we’re heading to Annapolis. With luck, the problem with the Beetle will be simple and obvious and easy to fix. Otherwise, we’ve got to make a repair decision. **MamaTigs ** - can you recommend a car shop up your way? We’ve got a great shop here, but it’d cost us a fortune in towing to get it moved. I’m wishing now we’d taken her car to our guys. 'Cept she doesn’t have any cash on hand. Always something.

Hot and humid forecast for today, but a cool front is supposed to come thru and tomorrow should be pleasant and drier. Just in time to go back to work, right? Sheesh. At least it’s a short week.

Hugs all around - I’m not picky!

Hey Mooommmmm! Have you got a power-surge protector between your PCs and the outlet? I find it very useful, as well as an uninterruptible power supply, that way if the dodgy electric supply here fritzes (like it did last night), it doesn’t fry the PC and I have time to shut the 'pooter down properly (as well as saving anything I was working on). Somebody more knowledgeable will probably be along shortly to tell me otherwise, but anyways …

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, those of you that have Sunday as a rest day!

We’ve got a surge protector, but I suppose it could be on the fritz itself. Or it could be entirely coincidental. Or it could be that this 5+ year old computer is in its death throes.

Or it could be aliens. Ghosts. Rabid dust bunnies…

I fear most of all that whatever it is will require a new computer. At least I was able to save our photos and documents to my kid’s external hard drive, just in case…

Urk. Morning.

Hey, the night was pretty good, although the poor little guy didn’t get to sleep until late. He liked the new people. Especially Muppet’s skirt, which was all sparkly.

We had a very nice time. They bought us dinner. Next time we’ll have to cook and take them out for ice cream.

Morning. I feel much better today than yesterday despite a wild pack of roving schnoodles busting through my bedroom door while I was asleep and then same said schnoodles decided to start barking around 4 a.m.

So where are the pics? :dubious:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. I need more though.

MOOOOOOM hope it’s nuttin’ serious with the kid’s car. I still shudder when I think of the eleven hunnert bucks I had to drop to get twuck fixed in May.

Hope everybody’s well soon kai. Yay on findin’ doggy food.

Yays, boos, hugs, fish slaps, appendage crossin’s etc. as needed.

Must have more caffiene. And brekkies…

This post amused me more than is reasonable.
Hope everyone is having as nice a morning as I am!

We’re going to Costcovia today (my kids have decided that Costco deserves to be it’s own country). Anyone need anything?

Good morning all. I’m up and caffeinating here, and breakfasting on: frozen Liberte Mediterranee strawberry yogurt (whole fat …), cut up mango and banana slices, and a bit of peanut butter puffins cereal. laughs Yes, what a conglomeration, but it’s actually very tasty.

GT, hope your household project (flooring?) goes well. Good that you found those missing cookie cutters!

Wish I was down near Swampy’s church, cause I think that’s where that smoked ham is going … YUM! Is it, Swampy?

SpecialOne and Dotty, sorry that you two are already at work–I don’t know if I could adjust to Sunday being a work day! Hah, even though my Dad is a minister and always worked on Sunday himself!

I’m going to hold off on grocery shopping, and go to the farmer’s market on Tuesday; it’s still a lot sticky here. I will head out in a bit for the Safeway to pick up a few essentials that we need. Hope you all enjoy your Sunday. And hope that the car problem isn’t too bad, FCM.

Peanut butter Puffins!!! My fave! It’s like peanut butter cap’n crunch for grownups!

Yum Yum Yum.

Must. Shower.

After a while, you don’t even notice any more - as long as I still get two days off each week, I’m not bothered which two they are! Even as a kid, when we were good Catholics, we used to go to Saturday night vigil mass, 'cause Mum liked her Sunday morning sleep-in too much to give that one up for God!

Soapy, Costcovia makes me think of The Princess Diaries! Any chance of finding Anne Hathaway tucked away in the produce aisle?

<snerk> swampy said twuck </snerk>

I’m at work now and I’m eating mumble, mumble, cough, cough [sub]sausage mcmuffins[/sub] for breakfast. :o

Morning. Up and caffeinated, off to work.

Well, getting Friday and Saturday off is a damn sight better than getting only half of Friday and Saturday off – which is how it was here until about 15 years ago! So I’m counting my blessings
Really, it doesn’t matter that much, as long as one’s weekend is in sync with everybody else’s…

You’re just trying to promote yourself, aren’t you? :dubious:

Nah… I use Dove soap… what do you use?

I’ll look for her! She is too cute! Cute story- my son could never pronounce “pedestrian” and it comes out “pedestranian”. We decided that they were people from “Pedestrania”. My own private world geography!

I’m partial to the feeling of ivory against my skin.

What? What’s wrong with what I just said…?

You forgot the capital letter and bolding…

Mmmmm, I just had some leftover linguica for breakfast… just a little spicy…

Bwahahaha, **Lunch…**you know exactly what you said.

I’m up early today even though I really wanted to sleep some more. **Mr. Taters ** thought some morning appreciatin’ would be nice, so he woke me up. Once that was over, I was awake anyway, so I just got up.

It promises to be another hot day today. Smartie, could you link that swamp cooler thingie that you bought? We’re thinking something like that would be just the thing for our den where two of our computers are located.

Good luck on your daughter’s car, FCM. I really hope it’s a cheap and easy repair.
