Another sleepless MMP

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Back from a free meal at Bert’s. Not that we had a coupon or anything - but our order seemed to get lost and it took forever to get to us. So the manager comped it. I shoulda ordered onion rings, too! Except just the sammich pretty well filled me up. So we’ve had a late lunch/early supper for free. Yay!

I know it shouldn’t annoy me but now the lawn service mowing the neighbors yard is parked on my parking pad. Can’t park on theirs because their garage goes all the way to the alley.

I don’t want to be a bitch but you’d think people would ask first instead of just assuming it’s ok.

I wonder if they will mind if I cut down their tree. It’s not very big but the roots are on their side of the fence and the trunk is pushing through the privacy fence and pushing one of the sections over. What is interesting too is that there is a double fence on that side so for all the I know the roots of the tree are mine since they are in the space between the two fences.

**Hi Everybody! **
I’ve been busy today and now I am going to do NOTHING the rest of the weekend. Lopped off a lot of dead tree branches and cut down one of the dead lilac trees …long story… I killed them accidentally a couple years back spreading Ground Clear to kill some nearby thistles that were very persistent… oh yes and the thistles are still there, dangit, stronger and bigger than before! If anyone has suggestions, I am open to them! Let’s see… what else? Oh yes, I repaired all the cracks in my back patio, that was a job. Filled in some holes in the lawn from the driveway work. Cleared the flower beds of dead stuff and mulch - got some little green points coming up! Raked the leaves out of the back sitting area, cut back some of the bushes that were threatening to overtake the pathway. I feel accomplished! Well… okay, I feel pooped! I think it’s going to be pancakes for supper. I’m too tired to do anything complicated.

The chicken for tonight’s Italian cheese crusted chicken is marinating. The sketti sauce sauce for tomorrow’s sketti and meatballs is simmering. More hockey coming up. Beer is cold. Life is good.

Oh YUM! That all sounds better than pancakes! But I already made my pancakes…
I could do sketti tomorrow… think I might.

Evidently a man’s medium bikini.

(Disclaimer: none of the guys I’ve dated in those years wears bikini or medium. :D)

Dig up the thistles and send them to me.

Seriously.

The main heroine in my Continuing Epic is named Thistle. I actually went out and picked one last year when I was still in the online writing contest because of that.

<bites tongue as well>

Should I consider whistling innocently as well? I usually wear mine kinda tight so I don’t forget them.

Until you got to the word bikini I was a little nervous.

Oh my. You don’t want these thistles! Some of them were taller than me. They’re very mean thistles. They bite. OH my bad - I’ve been calling them the wrong things - they are NOT thistles. They are burdock. Nasty things. :frowning:

Enjoyed the sunshine by going on a bike ride with some friends to a VA hospital where we ran a bingo for the residents. It was actually pretty easy to park the bikes and go inside from the sunshine for these guys and gals. As I always tell them I enjoy the freedom of riding around but that freedom comes at a cost and these are the people who ponied up and paid it for us all. Its great to give something to them even if its just breaking up the day for a couple hours.

Took the scenic way home from Highland Park to the North Side through Butler and Beaver - neither of which is near either one really.

The heck with 'em then. Nobody wants burdock.

It’s recital season. I went to another friend’s recital tonight. He sang some of his own arrangements of folk songs, which were very nice, and other songs.

I have a lot planned for tomorrow. Mostly trying to get work done at home.

Read that as rectal season. I must need more beer.

I spent the time between games chasing Gordie around the couch.

Maybe you need less ---------- naaaaah; that’s not the answer.

PS - made the same mistake myself at first. :smack:

GMTA. Us, too.

Taz must die. That is all. He, apparently, was thirsty. ALL NIGHT! There is fresh water in the bottle/bowl unit - I even washed it yesterday. But that wasn’t good enough - he wanted running water. From the sink. Our sink. He kept trying to open our door from about 1AM on. He must die. Stoopit cat.

When he first woke me, I lay there in a panic thinking I forgot to turn on the alarm. Then I couldn’t remember what day it was - did **FCD **have to get up for work or not? The fog finally cleared and I realized that all was well, except the part about the cat waking me up.

No telling what today will bring. My mom is cruising again - enroute to Cozumel at the moment. When she gets back, I’m going to put a deck restoration coating on the deck by her pool. My sister and BIL did it last year, and they did a really shitty job - one thin coat. The directions specify 2-3 thick coats. I did it on our deck and it looks great. A week after they finished, I saw Mom’s deck and I knew it wouldn’t last. She said it’s coming up in sheets. So I’ll spend 2 or 3 days with her doing it right. Because I’m the *good *daughter.

But that’s in a couple of weeks. Today, I hope to get the ditch mowed. And I need to unpack and assemble my new carpet shampooer. Beyond that, we shall see. It will be cooler and cloudier than yesterday, but I don’t see any yard work - I’m really tired! Stoopit cat.

Happy Sunday!

blurf. That is all.

Up and caffeinated. It’s cloudy out, with a good chance of rain. better stay in and watch hockey all day.

There is a concert room at McGill that says “Recital Hall” on the outside, and some clown removed the I. :stuck_out_tongue:

Proving that two of our number (I name no names) have the sense of humor of a college freshman.
:dubious:
