April Showers bring a soggy MMP

Back from the Doc’s, they are usually packed but only a few folks there and the seating in the waiting room has been moved so it’s 10-12 feet from the other. Was duly stabbed, radiated, and electrified, but did not get the posterior poke…not sure if it’s because of the coronavirus or the cologuard test last year, but if the doc is ok with it, so am I. Came home and finished off the Jersey Mike’s sammich (had 1/3 of it at 7am) so all is right with the world.

OW, Alabama has basically the same rules…

Fortunately, we’re used to crossing state lines to buy our lottery tickets, so this should not be a great hardship.

Sari, glad the puppers had a play date.

Everybody take care now.

An issue came up at irk. It’s a confidentiality thing, and I emailed the Account Executive to apprise her of the situation. She’s dubious about the party requesting the information, so she emailed the email string to our company president.

I’ve mentioned before that my boss is retiring and I’m training to take her place. The AE has been very generous with her praise. It feels good to get an attaboy.

Howdy Y’all! Went to the doc this mornin’. She took me off of one of my meds. YAY! Whilst I was out I went to :eek:Wally*World:eek: cause we were out of ‘nanners. I also got some bread, milk, cereal, and some of those frozen rolls we like. I also went through the drive thru at the DQ (I was close by, so why not) and got us double cheese burgers, fries, and two of those brownie blizzard thingys. I did not tell OYKW I was goin’ to do this so he got a surprise. I am a good spousal unit.

Brrrrrrrrr!

It’s downright cold here. The wind is blowing and they are getting a few snowflakes up on the plateau (it’s too warm, even up there, for them to stick though). Jeesh! Last week, it hit 85F and I had the AC on for a couple of days. Now it’s back in the winter clothes.

Nelson had his walk, he got to play with the neighbor dogs and tried to “protect” me from another neighbor. It’s no wonder several of them call him Scrappy Doo. :stuck_out_tongue:

mmmm - the Chinese food was good, and we’ve got leftovers galore. Roxy’s lo mein will make for 4 or 5 lunches for her - it was a huge serving. I got shrimp with broccoli and I cold barely eat half of it. So good supper.

They wouldn’t let anyone in the restaurant. You had to call them when you arrived and they brought the food out. I paid with my card when I ordered, and I sent daughter with some cash for a tip. So we’ve done our part supporting local business. Plus minimal dishes to wash. YAY!

Chinese food sounds good, I don’t know if the carry out is open.

I managed to escape the grocery store for under $100, but the pet store made up for it.

I saw that we have a Jersey Mike’s here, never saw it before so I don’t know for how long. It’s not very often that I go that far out 40.

I just got a text that the dog park is open. I sure hope so. I may run by tomorrow but I’ll have to leave the dogs home or they will flip out if it is closed and I don’t stop. If I wasnt irking I’d drive by now. Actually, I could because I messed up my schedule and I am not scheduled to irk.

Dog park is still closed, Chinese carry-out is open.
I didnt stop, already had some dinner, but nice to know it’s open.

I currently have rising four loaves, half size(about 13 ounces) of challah bread. It’s James Beard’s recipe, my favorite. I’m going to bake them off and take them to the church office of my mom’s churc, for the staff there. They all have been working hard, especially the two pastors, to have nine person services on Sundays. I’m still missing the Greek class, I need to get into it again and study some more, so that when class resumes I haven’t forgotten everything.

The aroma of bread baking is, arguably, the best smell in the world. I mean come on, there’s tons of other good stuff, but I don’t think any of them measure up to bread.

Paper goods seemed to be recovering at the Walmart I hit on the way home. Didn’t check Winco. Still basically impossible to find Lysol, disinfectant wipes, etc., more than an hour after the store opens. I’m not going to be feeling urgent on those for a couple of weeks at least, and I still think there’s some room to hope that supply lines normalize a bit by then. I did pick up a few normal groceries, including a couple of presents for the cat. She has a bag of fresh catnip mousies and a litter-catcher mat for the royal box (OK, the mat is more something DH wanted). I’m starting to worry that Kraft has discontinued their string cheese sticks (sulk).

Baking some chicken that’s been marinating since last night. That and some of the cake donuts I found in Walmart’s “we made too much” rack may well be dinner. Irk was nutso again today. When I logged off my phone today, I checked the queues. Over 2000 calls were still waiting when my center (one of three, and the only one that isn’t 24/7 AFAIK) closed for the day. Ugh.

Made smoked paprika chicken with roasted chicken rice. Gordie got some grease soaked cookies.

But I have to talk to my good boy!

I win! Do you ship?

Evening, all. This week is dragging and it’s only Tuesday.

My former landlady/roommate (I rented a room from her, so we lived together, but it was her house) brought over a sewing machine a couple days ago. She said she had tried to figure out how to use it to make some masks, but couldn’t get it. I had endeavored to teach myself to sew about five years ago, but didn’t really stick with it. So I knew I could figure it out and had some of the basics, but needed a lot of refreshing and wasn’t very skilled to begin with. Still, I’ve gotten a handful of masks made. I’ve done couple for my own family and I’ll keep making them to send to the shelter to protect the employees who still have to go in to work. I’m limited by supplies (since I didn’t have a craft habit before this, I don’t have a fabric/supply stash to speak of) and, as with everything, by my own pathetic stamina. I got three each done Sunday and Monday and just one today. And I screwed that one up by flipping one of the fabric pieces so the “wrong side” is out. It’s a cosmetic issue and, as the kid (bless her sweet little heart, I love her so much) said, “It’s okay- it’s just unique!”

Right now, I’m the all-wrong combination of exhausted/fatigued and wired/anxious. Body can’t move, mind can’t stay in one place. Sleep does not seem to be in the cards at the moment. My solution is The Great British Baking Show. They’re making tarts this time. Sweet fantasies.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 72 with rain this mornin’ and maybe some sun this afternoon. No big plans for the day for either of us. Don’t really need anything from the sto’, though OYKW may decide to go for a few things such as ice cream. We haven’t been buyin’ it, but yestiddy’s Blizzard binge has set up a gnawin’ and a cravin’. I yanked some poke chops outta da freezer last night for tonight’s sup. Vegetative matter and other stuff TBD. I foresee a day of Netflix and sloth.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

It’s RoxStar day! Can’t believe she’s 2 already - seems like just yesterday we were holding her at the hospital…

I’ll be making a pineapple upside down cake a little later. And I’ll ask Daughter if she has a particular supper request. If not, I’ll see what’s in the freezer.

We had a lot of rain overnight, but it’s supposed to clear later today. I want to run to Food Lion - I’ve got a partial list started. Other than that, not a lot planned for today.

Happy Wednesday!

Happy birthday RoxStar!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and playing in the studio until I go to irk at noon. I’m wondering what will be in my queue.

Coincidentally, when Roxy came out this morning, she started singing Happy Birthday! That kid cracks me up!

Happy Hump Day!
Happy Birthday Roxy!

It’s a clear and bright 32 feels like 28 degrees outside.
That is what I get for taking my coat, hats, and gloves upstairs and packing them away for the season.

Echo is making me crazy this morning, running from windows to doors crying because nobody has come over. She is worse whenever Jax comes over. Echo likes Jax better than Lily, probably because Lily luvs Ripple but only tolerates Echo.

Nothing much on the agenda today, irking and paying bills.
I’ll sit outside with the dogs when it warms up a bit. Maybe even do some yard irk.

I suspect I could get in a bit of trouble if I tried to ship it. It will go to the Cook Forest F&I event in June so that our friends can drink a toast to Kopek after the battle.

Happy anniversary of grandmotherhood, FCM! Now that Roxy is a “terrible 2,” she’ll behave about as well as the rest of us here!

My stimulus funds were deposited overnight so I just may have my own Chinese feast since I didn’t make it to FCM’s place in time last night. I drove past, peeked in your window and saw that you were done eating, and just came back home.

Howdy. I ventured out to the store again for a few items I forgot yesterday and I found…wait for it…toilet paper. Still no paper towels. And I still forgot hubs aaa batteries. I am not going back though.

We didn’t have the heart to tell her no so the maid is here and she is wearing a mask. She said she only has four houses anymore due to the virus.

Happy RoxStar day! . Dang time flies.

Yesterday afternoon I told Mrs. L.A., ‘The forecast says it will be sunny tomorrow and Wednesday.’ She said, ‘Tomorrow is Wednesday!’

I’m losing track of time… Well, at least my week will be a day shorter.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. It’s raining a bit, but Princess Pretty Paws still did his business.

let me know the date. I would be happy to punish my liver in remembrance.

Never mind, I got stimulated today, also. I can now [del]catch up on bills[/del]buy gin.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RoxStar!!!
