Because the lady asked, A MMP

Oh hush you. No need to rub it in.

Keep under cover…

I have Wifi at home again! So nice not to have to dock to the computer to transfer files.

I ordered an iPhone this weekend. I wasn’t going to, since I bought the iPad, and then my Blackberry decided it didn’t want to be a smart phone anymore. Since I needed a new phone anyway, I thought it would be fun to have the very latest technology for a change. My co-workers who bought iPhones this summer are a little peeved at how much the price has come down. I paid less for the 4S than another co-worker paid for her 4. I feel all smug and stuff.

It’s pretty quiet today at work. I guess our clients are assuming that we’re closed. Apparently, the IRS’ servers have the day off, too, since the tax returns are just sitting there. CA has already accepted the same returns.

Speaking of iPhones, since when does Sprint have iPhones? I’d like one but there’s nothing wrong with my phone and my contract still has 175 days on it before I can get a discount on a new phone. I also don’t use a cell phone enough to justify the expense.

However, when I do have money in a few weeks, I’m going to splurge on an Olympus WS-600s recorder. I suck hardcore when it comes to taking notes, especially in lectures. I do much better just putting all my attention on the speaker and really listening. But, recording will give me the option of going back and refreshing my memory.

I don’t know how Mooomm makes 'em, but this is my recipe. Keep in mind that I eyeball everything, so no quantities are listed.
Twice-Baked N.O.T.

Bake some N.O.T.. I like to use red ones, but use whatever you like. (350° for 1 to 1-1/2 hrs, depending on the size. Don’t turn off the oven.) Put on an oven mitt. Trying not to burn yourself, cut a thin slice off the top. With a small spoon, scoop out the innards into a bowl, taking care to leave some potato “wall” in there. Place the skins on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment.

Into the bowl, add any or all of the following:

Sliced green onions
shredded cheese
sour cream
butter
bacon bits
salt and pepper

Mix it all up in the bowl, then put the mixture into a gallon ziploc bag. Moosh it up some more. Push it all down into one corner, then snip off the corner and pipe into the N.O.T. skins. Put them back in the oven for about 30 minutes, until very hot and starting to brown.

Oh my, that sounds heavenly and evil, all rolled into one!

I use russets and I let them cool after the first baking. I mix the innards with butter, cheese (swiss, cheddar, whatever), diced onions, sour cream, till well blended, then I load the mixture into the skins, with a little extra mounded out the top. At this point, they can be wrapped and frozen for future meals, or put back in the oven till heated thru. And frozen ones can be nuked if you don’t want to wait for them to thaw and bake.

No ingredient amounts, sorry - I just throw together what I’ve got.

The bit that you cut off the top can be cheesed and broiled for a tasty appetizer!

I just pulled 15 of the tubers out of the oven. Shortly, I will begin the slicing, scooping, and mashing. Good times…

Reboot, I totally think you should change yout title to heavenly and evil!
Plus also, Ranch dressing is a good addition to twice baked N.O.T.'s.

In other news, working on the FAQ. Can ANYbody tell me when the first MMP was, at least approximately?

Rue DeDay started posting in 2001. Moommm - didn’t you link to the first MMP recently? I wasn’t a cool kid back then.

I see what you did, there!

nashiitashii, Doggy Wrestlemania is a several times a day and evening occurrence in this household. Yes, furniture gets bumped. Yes, I am stomped on and bumped into, but if I tell them to chill out, they do.

I was about to get all up in arms because I didn’t think anybody had added BACON to the twice-baked potatoes, but then I saw it listed. You guys are lucky! ::wags finger::

My son told me he received an email about a joint Boeing/Lockheed Martin internship in rocket design. He’s seriously considering applying for it, but wants to check into it further. It would be a paid internship, however, his housing allowance would count as part of his pay. When I clicked on the link for the internship it was titled United Launch Alliance. “United Launch Alliance (ULA) is the nation’s top provider of satellite launch services for the Air Force, NASA, Department of Defense and the National Reconnaissance Office”. The last sentence was a quote from their website. Are any of you engineer types familiar with this program?

Well, I must sort laundry. Laundry, laundry, laundry.

We also have our own version of Doggy Wrestlemania. The Terrible Iggy Dammit likes to piss off the girls and then come to us for protection.

In our case, furniture isn’t a problem. We don’t have much. The biggest obstacle they had was my ugly desk but that’s not a problem any more. I love it when Iggy takes a flying leap at the couch…and misses. HEE! Graceful he is not.

Hey everybody. I changed my username!

My depression has been pretty much gone; I’m not counting on it staying gone but I’m gonna enjoy it. It may be creeping back, or that may be low blood sugar.

Sleepy…

This is going on the blog, right? RIGHT? :dubious:

You’ll always be ShinyCat to us.

Sweetie is so schmucken fart. I just went downstairs to work on the laundry. I saw that instead of completely dismantling my desk, he just took out the corner piece, making 2 smaller desks. The shortest section is now right next to the dryer and is perfect for folding pants and towels. the longer piece, with the shelf, is next to that and is perfect for holding the folded pants (on the shelf) and folded towels and nonfolded shirts. Makes my life a hell of a lot easier it does.

Porque?

I tried to find the first MMP - I know I did a post - I think it might have been a full MMP - giving the date and a link to the first MMP called such. For the life of me, I can’t find it. I tried searching on *anniversary *and Rue DeDay but no luck. :frowning:

Meatloaf is baking, along with 3 N.O.T.s for their second baking. The little sections of skins that were sliced off will be cheesed and served as appetizers, and I’ve got a dozen N.O.T.s in the freezer, along with another meatloaf, for future meals. Go me.

I had to throw some of my laundry in the dryer for a quick tumble - the jeans and a few other garments didn’t get completely dry - my own fault for not hanging them out earlier. Oh well.

Daughter is here - she and her dad are trying to figure out why the lights and fan on her nanocube hood aren’t working. I’ll yell for them when supper is ready. No dessert today, tho. Alas…

In that case. the FAQ is done.

I’m not on there. :frowning:

Soapy (Ivory soap)

okiedoke. that’s why I posted it here first, so I make sure i didin’t forget anything !!
