I think you might be thinking of** Bumbazine**, shortdrum. He makes wonderful soap and used to make lotion too. He was kind enough to give me some when we had a little Dopefest a few years ago. We actually called it Swampfest because it was in honor of **Swampy **making it up here to God’s country.

My daughter makes lovely soaps, but I do not. I have been, rarely, been referred to as Rapunzel, but no for ages. Soapy or Ivory; that’s me!

I’m surprised you bought a second one. I first got mine about 2 or 3 years ago and it was sagging withing minutes of putting it together. But, what did I expect for $100? I didn’t go into the purchase expecting quality or long lifespan.

Howdy Y’all! Home from Vestry meetin’. Before that we went and got some Mexican. MMMMM… loves me some Mexican food! Speakin’ of the Vestry I am apparently a masochist. See, it’s comin’ up on pledge time. This is when we [del]coerce[/del] ask the members of the Parish to make their pledge to the church for the new budget year which just happens to start January 1st. So this year we decided on a Parish lunch after the October 30th service to distribute pledge cards and talk stewardship. So, said lunch must be prepared or catered. This is not like First Sunday Brunch. Dumbass, AKA yours truly, says, “why not smoke some <snerk> Boston Butts <snerk> or beef brisket, it could be done the day before and easily reheated.” Of course this means that dumbass, AKA yours truly, will be doin’ the smokin’. I just never learn, do I? Anywho, with the draftin’ of two other Vestry members, we figured bbq, baked beans, macaroni and green sallit, garlic bread and some kind of dessert to be determined is doable and within the budgeted amount of six hunnert bucks. Actually should be well within budget. So, October 29th dumbass, AKA yours truly, will haul his dumbass over to the church house and spend the day smokin’ either <snerk> butt <snerk> or brisket dependin’ on which one we get the better price on. I’m hopin’ for brisket cause, well, I’m overly fond of smoked beef brisket.
Pearl one small point. It’s “Y’all” not “Ya’ll.” “Y’all” is a contraction of you all. Other than that, I might add, “and anything else we make up cause that’s how we roll.”

Thanks, Doggio! I am a wandering minstrel of sorts, so I occasionally will pop in and greet my fellow Mumpers. Y’all kept me quite busy and amused for at least a year when I was working boring “nothing to do but answer phones” jobs.
So I’m sittin’ here, like a good girl, doing my homework. I’m reading about the 5th amendment so of course it mentions Ernesto Miranda. The textbook only mentions that his first conviction was overturned because he didn’t know he had the right to shut up but he was retried and found guilty even without his confession.
Since I’m the curious sort, I looked him up to find out what happened to him. Apparently, a few years after he got out of prison, he was murdered.
“The man suspected of killing him invoked his Miranda rights and refused to talk to police. He was released and never charged with Miranda’s murder.” (bolding mine)
Does the fact that I guffawed over this make me a bad person?
It’s been a while, really, but there was a time when new Mumpers were escorted into a room by either Bobbio or Lunch (sometimes both); once there the goat and squid were released from their confines. What transpired next has never been, and will never be, revealed.

Seriously, the squid & goat are used to haze noobs. It’s kinda like the noodle incident in Calvin in Hobbes. Best left to the imagination.
