Cindy McCain

I hope you don’t think I believe the opposite of the sentiment expressed in your list. Your style of post really bugs me.

McCain knows what’s best for him. He is a spoiled rich kid who got his way his whole life. Now he wants to be president and it belongs to him. He reminds me of somebody else…hmm …I remember. Bush.
At least Obama is thinking about everybody else.

It’s called a political platform. All candidates for office have them. They’re particularly noticeable among Presidential candidates.

Unless of course you are equally willing to indict John McCain for “thinking he knows what’s best for everybody else” also. Keep in mind now that half of the Republican ticket in this election vocally espouses forcing Christian practices and education onto citizens, regardless of their own religious beliefs. Downright contemptuous of the sanctity of the individual.

Sigh.

Forget it. If you’re a troll, you’re an exceptionally boring one. If you actually believe even half the shit you post, you’re irredeemably stupid. Go wank off to Atlas Shrugged.

I tried to control my inner-smartass, but I just couldn’t do it.

Your definition of “elitism” is apparently so broad, though, that it describes every single politician. As such, it’s completely useless in a conversation about politicians, because it’s implied that all politicians are elitist.

So, the point is that your definition of elitism is not compatible with the definition used by just about everyone else.

Well, yes, but there’s a difference. Speaking on the fiscal side of things, Republicans think what is best for everyone else is to be left alone by the government. The Democrats, on the other hand, have a program of enforcing their Robin Hood idea of fairness on everyone else. The two most obvious areas to see this difference are in their tax plans and health insurance plans.

The difference is that McCain says “I think you know what’s best for you, so I’m going to make things so that you can go do what’s best for you” whereas Obama says “I’ve decided what’s best for everyone, so everyone must toe the line.” That’s why Obama’s an elitist.

Were you born with the intellect and moral capacity of a cockroach or was it something you get from St Ayn? Who preached elitism. That certain feeling (yes I know you fucking sociopaths hate that word) that somehow you’re better than everyone else.

Also, this is clearly contrary to well-established Supreme Court precedent, so I don’t harbor any fear that a Republican president could make any headway in that direction. Same thing with abortion. These just aren’t voting issues (whereas each candidate’s tax plan and their general ideas of the role of government are).

I’m a much more moral individual than Obama (and you if you support Obama), I’ll tell you that much.

Yes! Damn RIGHT!

May I have $700 billion dollars, please?

Sorry for the multiple replies, missed the edit window on the first post above. Here’s what I wanted to add

ETA: Ack, I read your post too fast. I thought you were just talking about forcing Christianity into education (e.g., teaching creationism or “the controversy”), so that’s what I was responding to. But I still think that a more general sense of what I said is responsive to your concern in the more general sense.

Conveniently for McCain, his tax plan and his health insurance plan are the same thing. It makes it easier to remember for stump speeches. “My friends, I will tax your health benefits and then give you some money for your health care. I’m a maverick!”

Nonsense. I’m more moral than you. (And so is Obama.)

  1. It’s a program for the purchase of assets, not a handout to “the corporations.”

  2. As I’ve said in other threads, I’m of two minds whether I like it or not.

  3. It doesn’t change the fact that the Republicans are still the more fiscally conservative small government party while the Democrats are the more fiscally liberal large government party.

You’re talking like it’s still 1994. Republicans are the party of the warrantless wiretap.

I said “Speaking on the fiscal side of things,”

But glad you got your dig in. Yea for you.

Actually, on the fiscal side of things, the budget was temporarily balanced under Bill Clinton. Not under Bush the Younger, not under Bush the Elder, not under Reagan. The only time the budget has been balanced in the last four presidencies was under a Democrat.

Wishin’ and hopin’ don’t make it so.

Oh, the fiscal side! That’s the side that they’ve done such a great job with!

W thinks that’s a song by Olivia Newton-John. She’s Australian, so she talks funny.

If anyone cares to argue that Obama is more likely to shrink the government (or at least slow down the increase in its size) than is McCain, I’d be willing to listen. Any such person has some pretty big earmarks to get past in doing so.
