HI there,
Can one of you nice Mumpers fill me in as to what N.O.S. refers to with respect to the weather? I’ve searched and guessed to no avail. Thanks in advance.
HI there,

Not Our Sunny - She’s not a weather phenomenon as far as anyone here can ascertain.
It has something to do with a member nick named “Tater” or “Taters” and not confusing s/he with a recount of the potatoes eaten at a meal. “Not Our Taters” but some real potatoes, N.O.T.
I went to my Doctor, and he gave me some pills, so I avoid using such expressions.
I guess one could also make a drinking game of it, which would make the Monday Morning Post far more interesting.
Oh yes, don’t lend money to Dogbutt or Spiderbutt.
I am now edified, but not deified…
Sunny, I’m from the Milwaukee area, but I’m living in the Green Bay area now. So just up the river from Lawrence University.
HOME!!!
The rental truck has been returned. Daughter remembered to start the meatloaf and it’s smelling yummy in here. Cleo has been locked out of the kids’ rooms, so she’s taken up residence in the dining room - now we just need to get Ziva out from under the bed.
**FCD **has a meeting Firday about what could be a metric buttload of work. The Navy wants to pull the contract from another local contractor and they specifically asked about having **FCD **do it. It includes both design and analysis and will mean a lot of hours - including some for me. So that was exciting news.
Thus endeth my Wednesday. Huzzah!!
Yes, yes you do.
I know of someone who gave a meatloaf glaze, from memory, as ⅓, ⅓, & a ⅓ - a cup each of water, ketchup, & Worcestershire sauce. Now we like spicy, but it was almost a bit much over the top.
The next time we saw this person, she handed over a tin foil wrapped package. Seems the recipe was supposed to be a cup, a cup, & a ⅓ of a cup.
(The tin foil package was a meatloaf that she made with the correct portions as a mea culpa.)
BTW, I make it more along the lines of a cup, a cup, & a ½+ cup.
Sounds pretty awesome…if only they made a poster.
Not weather, celestial.
Hello there, almost might-have-been neighbor!
Have you a nickname yet? Welcome to our little neck of the woods!
Conga-rats on the new contract Mooommm.
Today has been mostly cloudy, and in the sixties for the most part. It’s just cool enough that I have cuddly animals. No idea what we’ll do for dinner. I suspect leftovers.
Happy Wotansday.
Howdy Y’all! I shopped for comestibles, went to FedEx and now have my meds, we et at Sonny’s and then went to Harvey’s to stock up on various Co-Cola products and get OYKW the cheeze crackers he lurves. all in all a fairly productive day. Chillage now ensues.
Salud nettie, butters and all of you other sneezy folk out in MMP land.
butters, once upon a time, I owned two indentical pair of loafers with the exception of color, one pair brown, one pair black. My sweetie worked evenings, so he was still in bed when I dressed for irk, hence my not turning many lights. I showed up to the job one day with one of each pair. :smack:
I got the stuff out to begin a scrapbook layout last evening. I was going to scan the pictures, since the ones in my posession are vintage and I don’t have negatives (Juliet, sunny and maybe doggio may appreciate them, as they were pics of a family vacation to Spooner, WI when my parents were newlyweds in 1961). I couldn’t scan. I missed the setup for that part of the new fancy-schmancy printer that I bought a couple of months ago. I didn’t manage to get it set up, but have an idea of what I did wrong and will try again after supper KP. If that fails, there’s a 14 year old that I know who will give me a hand.
Well, no re-modeler visit today, he seems to have the same bug that Juliet’s daughter had and will hopefully reschedule. Did get all the goals moved without to much hassle, one guy has a 15-ft trailer he tows and that can hold almost all of the goals. Rewarded myself with cheeseburgers for dinner.
As for MonkeyMensch, how does Honorable Ape sound?
As for shoes, I used to love Hush Puppy loafers, always had two pair, one grey, one tan…and yep, one morning I didn’t look carefully and had a perfect mis-matched set I wore to work…fortunately I could keep my feet tucked under the desk for most of the day.
FCM, so your going to retire to work on your husband’s project? You seem to have trouble with this whole retirement concept…
Reading and Basketball and Internetting will take up the rest of the evening.
Howdy all. I see I am not the only one wearing mismatched shoes. Makes me feel better. No one ever even noticed.
We have a tropical depression trying to form down south and this has my bones aching. I guess it’s the weather.
miss red I love your old photos you post from time to time.
Night all.
butters, I inherited most of the old family photos and do a lot of heritage scrapbooking. I post them to FB to share them with family, but like that my friends enjoy them too.
O MonkeyMensch, please don’t burn us.
Don’t grill or toast Your flock.
Don’t put us on the barbecue
Or simmer us in stock.
Don’t braise or bake or boil us
Or stir-fry us in a wok.
Oh, please don’t lightly poach us
Or baste us with hot fat.
Don’t fricassee or roast us
Or boil us in a vat,
And please don’t stick Thy servants, MonkeyMensch,
In a Rotissomat.
OK — now you been both ------ let the naming begin!
On other news for at least the next 12 hours I cannot accuse the OW of being full of sh--------------- never mind. You get the drift I am sure.
Ruble I think you should lend your lovely wife one of your new t-shirts to wear tomorrow.
The thought had occurred to me.
Oh — and while my brain is at it, to be sure MonkeyMensch is properly deified my I suggest Holy Ape!!! ?
Up ,caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work.
It’s OK, Gordie thinks he’s a cow sometimes.
That works. And I already have a [del]human sacrifice altar[/del]shrine we can beseech him with.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out and cloudy (unto gloomy even) with a predicted high of 85 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for the day. We shall see. All kinds of red, green, and yellow radar stuff to the north and west so who knows. No real big plans for the day which is fine by me. Netflix feels I have been neglectin’ it so I might have to remedy the situation. We shall sup upon grilled poke chops and whatever side matter I decide upon. Oh I do have to go over to the church house around four to assist with makin’ sure there’s oil in the candles. How’s that for excitatement!
I too have been sniffly and sneezey the past couple of days. Dang seasonal allergies!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Holy Ape is lots easier to type than Honorable Ape - sorry, MetalMouse!
I had baby-feeding duty last evening while the kids ate. I had dinner ready and I told them when to get home, but they showed up after **FCD **and I had finished and boxed up the leftovers. So they were chowing down and I held a bottle in Roxy’s face, then changed her and plopped her into her swing. LOVE that swing!
Then she started crying at 2AM… I didn’t have to get up with her, but she still woke me. Fortunately, I fell back to sleep fairly fast. I may make it thru the day…
Happy Thursday!!
Concur…fewer syllables is always a good thing. Let it be so.
Beat the garbageman to the curb, so my major Thursday work is done. 72F heading for 90F and no rain until tomorrow. Probalby should mow the lawn, but 90F…
