Commercials you don't hate

Hard Times at the Mill. Volvo. It’s very sweet!

The new Geico commercial with Tag Team.

SCOOP! There it is!

The new match.com commercials. Satan signs up and gets paired up with 2020, and they go off to do lovey-dovey stuff against a background of disasters.

I generally hate Cheetos ads because a lot are based on people being mean, but I like this one:

I love the bad acting and especially the twist. You’re expecting him to say something like, “not you too, Mittens!”. But instead…

I came here to post that one…Match.com promoting the epic romance between Satan and 2020 is hysterical …two oh two oh? Call me twenty-twenty.

The other one I love is the Eargo hearing aid “Condoms” commercial, in which the visiting girlfriend of the adult son whispers at him to ask him if he has condoms…he doesn’t hear her, but his father in the next room does. My favorite part, which I didn’t catch the first few times I saw it, is when the father pointedly removes his hearing aids after the young couple exits, presumably heading for the bedroom.

I think it’s the daughter’s family, no? Doesn’t she call her mother “Mom” and the guy calls her Mrs. Whatchamacallit?

Here’s a couple that have been keeping us amused here in Alberta, while hammering home the idea that gatherings, even holiday family gatherings, can be dangerous spreading events:

I’d guess that these are a damn sight more effective than the endless health experts, who are not media-savvy, staring straight into the camera, and awkwardly repeatedly the same scripted points (masks, social distancing, etc. etc. etc.) over and over again. They certainly are more entertaining.

That Bud Light cardboard cutout commercial isn’t bad. The long version:

Geico - The pipes are making strange noises.

I had seen Brie Larson before and she just didn’t register with me. Then I saw her in those Nissan commercials and she just looks amazing! I didn’t even realize it was her until I did an internet search. There is nothing more stunning than a brown-eyed blonde and Brie just looks great on those commercials!

That Geico “pipes” ad - I laughed out loud! I haven’t seen that one on TV yet.

The entire current series of GEICO ads for the renters/homeowners insurance is hilarious! I think I like the aunts best, but fencing is a close second.

A winter-themed credit card commercial from last year is playing constantly again, since 'tis the season. It is shamelessly manipulative to hit you right in the feels.

A woman is shopping for disparate items with her magical credit card— carrots, scarves, etc…while a pleasant indie song plays in the background.

Cut to her husband coming home from work to see snowpeople on the lawn…a snowman, a snowwoman and…a snow kid? Wha whaaaahh??? Looks up to his wife standing on the porch, and she smiles nods and pats her stomach. Husband runs up and they joyfully hug.

One thing that concerns me about the fictional pregnant wife is, ever try to build a snowman? I used to with my kids when they were little, and it’s hard work to build one snowman, let alone a whole family. Really exerts the core. I know pregnant women aren’t delicate flowers and can continue to work out and do strenuous stuff within reason, but it doesn’t seem like something a newly preggars woman should be doing.

Taco Bell does a parody of teen horror movies where the victim screams, “You don’t consume me…I consume you!” that I don’t hate.

Yeah, I’m enjoying that one as well. And the girl is Mila Kunis, right?

This commercial for nacho fries? The actress is Sarah Hyland, who was the older daughter on Modern Family, and the actor is recognizable somehow. It follows earlier nacho fries commercials featuring Josh Duhamel, James Marden and other established actors.

He’s Steve on Stranger Things.

:woman_facepalming: Thanks, @Dewey_Finn.

The first time I heard that Taco Bell commercial (not saw-- it was playing in a different room), I wondered which streaming service the movie would be playing on.

My new favorite/not-so-favorite commercial is Geico’s What Are You Waiting For, Tag Team? one. I just love mom and pop dancing to Whoomp! There It is while daughter backs slowly away and I love the dessertization of the lyrics. I so much do not love how it shows how quickly time is marching by.

This Pedialyte commercial cracks me up.
